i think cooking as a whole needs to be more profitable (excluding cakes) if you look at farming you get a crop its worth x you pickle it its worth x+10 etc, ores are worth x you smelt 5 you get a bar worth 15x you turn it into arrows you get even more everything you do with all the professions the more you "process" it the more value it gets. but you cook a meal by yourself and the meal does not even equal the value of the base ingredients
