There are a number of ways, but in the beginning, I'd say that fishing and mining are good starter options. Pretty much any loot you pick up and sell will help. Mining has starstones that sell for some pretty good gold. Eventually when you level up your skills and unlock other recipes, you'll be able to earn gold a bit easier. You can also visit #🐣│palia-newbies since I'm sure others have some beginniner-friendly advice there too.

Oh! Sure, yes cooking parties are good too if you like that social aspect! #1143270926394335282 is a good place to find active events that players host. Usually the original poster will list out what is required of you, what to expect, etc. Typically involves you having X-amount of ingredients, adding the host in-game (so that they can invite you to their plot for said cooking party), and so on. If you don't already have it, you'll need the "I'm Looking for (a) Group!" role in id:customize in order to participate in the linked channel above.

Cooking parties essentially have roles assigned to X-amount of players (depending on the recipe). For instance, a player can be assigned to a station to chop meat, another player might be assigned to chop veggies, another to stir, etc. Once cooked, everyone who participated in some action or other gets the loot. And if you want, you can sell the cooked items for gold, or keep for your Focus Bar.

I haven't experienced this yet but you can also check in the linked channel above if others have encountered this issue. It's likely that the hotfix tomorrow will add some stability back to Housing Plots in general since the introduction of flowers and trees have been causing quite a few issues.

Not sure if this is the case, but based on my own exp... might be that the update requires major code deployment and a full server reboot, and so part of that 3 hours is checking internal checklists to make sure nothing in the new or old code got borked (and fix anything that did get borked) before letting players log back in.

The actual process of updating software isn't that long in most casre, it's making sure things didn't break during the process that takes longer. Usually a mix of automated and manual tests, etc

Otherwise you can take an exsisting account and character and go to jels and do a total makeover, and then contact support to do a name change. Youd keep you lvls and stuff this way but can basically get a redo on your toon
