slight snark but they HAVE been putting off fixing some seriously major bugs for too long. like actually 5 months.

difference here is the food that's placeable is all cooked at cooking stations. even campfire foods aren't placeable. the jarred items are made in the other types of stations so they basically don't fall under the same "category" even if it's really dumb from a player perspective

and trust me I find it annoying, I was very upset when I first found out I couldn't place grilled campfire foods

Sometimes those bugs are hard to find though. I am not a programmer, but I have done some programming. Writing fully functional codes for movement and video aren't as easy seem to think they are. I have a special respect for video game designers and coders. and I get all that too, but for all we know it could be as simple as a few characters but they have literal millions of lines of code

a good tip for pal, only 8 spawn on a server so if ppl are running around looking for them too. you can pick a area and. break rocks there and eventually should spawn them near you, kinda like how flow tree farming spawns flows near where trees are being cut down

There ARE other ways to make coin. Doing cakes is very profitable and social. For those of us that don't usually have the time to dedicate to a cake party, there are other ways. I grew 20 of each crop, then now do only potato. Then throw them into 8 preserve barrels. I get almost 3 full stacks (30) of pickled potatoes every morning. Roughly 4k a stack iirc. Well exactly :P Every space needs 4 things to be 'complete' ... furniture piece/rug/plants/lighting. If there are multiple bits of furniture in a room it gets quite packed. But cozy in a randomly controlled chaos sort of way. grins I do quite love that the lighting is so well done. You can make some dramatic scenes with well placed plants and lights

My garden has 3 apple trees that go to more seeds and preserves only which I use for focus food. Sometimes I get over 100 and sell off a stack of 30. But not often. The rest of my gardens are all potatoes that go into pickle barrels. I sell all of those. I'm rarely out of coin now and usually have about 50k on me unless I am saving up. Like for the next update. My layout is 5 apple trees, 16 potatoes, 8 tomatoes, 4 rice, 4 wheat, 4 corn. 100% water retained from layout alone, and 100% harvest boosted if I fertilize just 4 of the trees.
