Switch launch will be a huge milestone for the game, one that could go very positive or fall very flat, based almost entirely on how well the experience goes. I believe they need to make sure it works nearly flawlessly in order to make the most of the opporutnity. You don't get a second chance to have a first-time release on a console. Better make it count, and a buggy annoying mess is a dealbreaker

Yeah, console players tend to be less understanding of bugs, I've found. Me, I'm pretty understanding, both because game dev is hard, and I grew up back when if you had a game that had bugs... well, there you go. Live with it, and work around it if you need to. We take for granted the ease things get patched in games nowadays.

Now I need to ask something. Atm the Switch version isn't out yet, and they mentioned in the blog post that they said that it's not being talked about yet. And at the end they said they'd be taking a break the rest of 2023.

I think for me being part of a handful of different betas, I'm just kind of numb to glitches, but if it goes out on Switch then there's a bit less leeway for justifiable patience, too. It's one thing if it's a beta-testing game on the computer, I'm used to bugs (including bad ones, not just the funny ones) being part of what I signed up for, but once it gets to Switch, things are getting complex in a way where there's less room for "ah it's beta lol" — I hope they do a Switch release when they feel ready, and not by when they feel pressured.

I'm revisiting it once I finally add this one feature I've been toiling over for the garden planner. After the initial concept showcase and player feedback, I've realised that the current system cannot keep up with the complexity of housing mechanics as currently discovered by players. It's also unlikely to reach the scope of full-on furniture placement especially since it's a 2D simulation of Palia's 3D Housing system.

Having this out has been p useful for me though, as I've been able to better gauge this project. I might flip a coin between getting the current system to adapt the placement of major buildings (easier + quicker), redo it from scratch for a more sophisticated housing simulation (like MakePlace), or somewhere in the middle

Go to bahari just before midnight in game and stand on the cliff above central stables/proudhorn. At midnight you will hear a flow grove spawn and go in the direction the sound came from and you will find it. Around 10-30 flow wood per grove depending where it spawns.

I did make the house, I have an almost looped house, i have a courtyeard, just sadly not looped. I couldnt add the last hallway piece, and since that 3x3 is small, the opening isnt as noticeable. I posted a pic of it on Instagram. I just now got clutter on the yard to clean up and decide what to put in the inner courtyard 🙂
