@plush zodiac - it can vary. this is their first big event from what ive noticed, so hiccups will happen especially with the first few events. but something like this is normal, always expect a delay. that's why devs only give approximations and not exact times, because people clearly take them to heart

RIGHT!? The funniest part is I bet over half of the complainers are the same people that cried about the Pets and monetization issue. Considering it's a free game and the pets they created are a THANK YOU to those who supported their team. They never had to release the pets at all and considering they are technically working on this for FREE, any support they get goes to helping keep the lights and servers going as well as the devs continuing with new content, events, fixes, e.t.c. The channel is on slow mode. There's 5 minutes between when each individual can post. You can't really tell people off for spamming when they're only able to post one thing every five minutes. The issue is the sheer amount of people, and no matter what slows you put on it, something like 3k people active currently on the discord is going to have runaway chat.

All games have "childhood diseases" that the team will learn to fix. Integrating lots of new gameplay can come with coding bugs and functionality issues. The hype was maybe a bit too much to expect for this launch 🙂

You do get XP without focus, just not as much. Also make sure you use both shrines to increase your focus capacity (from the one in the garden) and bonus XP (from the one in the caves in Kalima, where you initially start the game from). It costs Renown to make these upgrades, make sure you use it as it will cap at 1000 and the rest you gain will be a waste. After 50% both shrine start to give less, but still viable.
