so a few days ago after downloading the server file for BMC1 fabric I tried using the powershell script for launching a server and it basically interpreted the file path as a starting parameter, hence it didn't work. (I used Git bash with the .sh so I was fine)
I re downloaded it right now to see if the issue was still apparent but now I get a new error and I don't know if that is just because of my machiene

Current error: "start.ps1 is not digitally signed"

I can fix that myself but I'm wondering if it would be possible to bypass the execution policy inside of the script.

An update to windows introduced a new security feature that prevents powershell files from running on your PC. This is great for your security, but not so great for our server start scripts, which require powershell to run them. Fortunately there is a quick fix for this!

Run powershell as administrator, then run Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned. Read the prompt and press accept. This will allow us to run scripts.

Next, navigate to your server directory using cd path/to/directory (for example: cd C:\Users\Username\Documents\Minecraft\Server)

You can now run the server by double-clicking the start.ps1 file, or typing .\start.ps1 into the command line while in the directory.

IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK, TRY THIS
Run the command Unblock-File -Path .\start.ps1 in the same powershell window. This will allow the start script to not be blocked by windows, and run freely.

Hello! When I run /stop on my BMC Fabric 1.19.2 server, the server closes down but the file doesn't completely close and the java execution stays open. I have to manually kill the instance with task manager to close all the way. Any fix?

also what about his modpack being modified is that a related issue? we did nothing additional to the modpack, did a mod break? and would it be related?

we don't know what causes the issue

a community member made a mod which silences the error and we added it in v13

it's not an actual fix to the error, it just prevents the client from recognizing it happened

the error has no impact on gameplay

Yeah that was the first thing I tried. That is very unfortunate because I was trying to setup a sleeping server like I've used with past servers where players who try to join a proxy server auto starts the server (that part still works) and then when the server auto shutsdown when the server is empty, the proxy server goes back in it's place. But since the server is not properly shutting down, the proxy server never restarts and I'm just wasting RAM usage.

So I've been trying to download fabric on my two computers so my mum and I can play but for some reason when it goes to automatically download mods from the sites since it wouldn't download first time it doesn't work. Hey chorb, me again. Regarding the server stop issue where the process just hangs, I'm taking matters into my own hands and writing some simple code to at least alleviate the issue for the time being. It's not done yet, but if you're interested, I'd be happy to share my solution for others who may be experiencing the same issue. I only have a minor in computer science so I'm a little slow at this lol
