Im setting up a local server for a LAN-PArty, but have some "problems" during installation of the mod.
Setting up server is pretty easy (even if in Standard there are many errors)
LAN is very likely to not work
you'd be much better off self hosting or using bisect
But for client there isno file for the cleint, there is a zip but that has no mod folder or mods. So how the client side is going to be installed?

"LAN" is no real lan its a local computer as server and we play from different locations ๐
normally mods etc are copied in the directory of cliendt but there are no mods in the clint file
Regarding my issue. Removing JMI from the server resolved the issue.
With no need for any changes client side

Okay, normally, when i "make" a server, i have mods
those modes needed at the client, so i make a file, that the client extract with mod-folder, recourcepack etc

Download ATLauncher today, available for Windows, Linux and OSX. Installation is simple and you can get up and running and playing modpacks quickly.
you'll need to do some extra steps with launchers besides CurseForge
that's the easiest launcher to use
but it's extremely buggy
and uses lots of memory
i dont use curseforge

like last time copy mods etzc from server files manually
took me all of 5 minutes to get a server setup with bisect. last issue i had was resolved within 2 hours via customer support
they will literally do all the work for you lol
even removed jmi for me, so i didnt have to mess with it

that's normal for any launcher that isn't the official curseforge one. like I said curse forge is more accessible but more glitchy
as i said - i HATE those launchers, because they make more work, than an easy zip file. as now proven ๐
I think you have to use a launcher nowadays because of how curseforge works
so you could try curseforge launcher but if there's any issues there isn't much that can be done
having to unzip and locate correct file paths is certainly not easier then using a launcher
its easier tho

Hi, i've created a minecraft server of medieval mc 1.19 i set online mode off but when i try to enter with a no premium account any error appears but i cant enter but with my premium account i can enter, do someone knows why ?

Hi, Ive been playing the medieval Minecraft modpack and i have had a world going for like 4 days now
however, i cant seem to get in it anymore because of a glitch
the glitch occurs after all the pre-joining world gui
instead of going into the world once all that shows up
"loading terrain" shows up on the screen instead
and it never loads into the world
this only occurs with one of my worlds
So the chance be that it got corrupted
Always make a backup yk i did that too everyday when i was finished playing i saved it and made a backup just to be on the safer side

Not sure about you @spice oak but to clarify this is with the most recent (v12) version for 1.18.2 for me, I did not have this issue when I ran the 1.19 version.

searching back in this channel a few months, it's from EnvironmentZ--the "Show cold overlay" setting
toggling that off seems to have fixed it for me

If you care about quests then 1.19 Fabric does not have them yet as the mod that implements them has not been updated (it's why I switched back to 1.18 Fabric)
just looking for the best all-around experience since I just found out this modpack and I have no clue. I usually prefer older versions when newer ones are too young but it's not always the case
Are ogres unable to use shields? Origin doesn't say they cant but I can't seem to block with one

forge has more mods
so it is expected to some degree
i never suggest fabric because it has less mods but for 1.19 it's recommended
at the same time i dont recommend playing 1.19 modded at all because all the mods are glitchy lol

1.16 forge is the most stable version for all modpacks, the only downside is you dont get extended height limits and no 1.19 features
you get caves & cliffs update in 1.16 because of the backport mod
1.18 has 1.19 features
1.16 doesnt yet

curse is VERY inconsistent and has many downsides
ATL is confusing for some people & you have to do some extra steps since its considered "3rd party" by curse's API
oh, I guess that sparks a 2nd question, is it easy to start a server/rent one for medieval minecraft?

which prevents the game from launching
very cool feature that hasn't been fixed for over a month. i think more launchers should implement the "game no longer works" feature

Curse, ATL, GDLauncher, PolyMC, MultiMC, etc all do the same thing
they all serve the same purpose
installing modpacks via CurseForge's website API
every launcher except Curse requires extra steps to circumvent things Curse has implemented to discourage people from using other launchers
what are some issues ATL has to get around?
but when you install Curseforge it also installs bloatware on your PC which, by default, is started when your PC starts up
so
curseforge realized they had actual competition
so they led mod developers prevent "third party downloads" for their mods
which means you have to install like 10 mods manually for most launchers
it automatically detects it in your downloads folder & puts it in the modpack so its not fully manual
GDLauncher has a way to get past this limitation but its still a work in progress and isn't fully reliable so its not my go-to suggestion
the bloatware is called Overwolf, it does literally nothing, it's not needed for CurseForge's launcher to run and it uses 200mb+ of memory at all times
you can close both Overwolf and the Curse launcher when the mc launcher starts with no consequence to prevent that

they are all "unique" experiences with different mods
but for stability and mod count 1.16 is superior

if you run an installer for something that doesnt have a microsoft certificate the same will happen

I can guarantee you there is no "Ransomware Mod" on the curseforge website which installs ransomware on specifically your computer and nobody else's
unless some mod developer REALLY has it out for you
