Christ, this fallout lore youtuber I was listening too just mentioned hesitation to like Fallout TV show because of Rings of Power, like goodness gracious man, different writers and different circumstances of production entirely separate with only Amazon Prime Video being the connection.

Btw the writers for the Fallout TV show are Jonathan Nolan who helped write Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar, Dark Knight, and co-created Westworld, so he's got skill with unique and exciting takes on science fiction. And the other being Lisa Joy, also co-creator of Westworld. So it's not a bad writing team.

2 things... 1. Does anyone actually use energy weapons? I feel they are mostly weak and I just collect and sell the ammo for bank.
2. I hope any new fallout(I haven't played 4 yet) will start to make missions that are specific to weapons and maybe a bit of planning. I just feel like I'm being rushed by enemies everything except on the odd occasion I get to use the sniper rifle. Bit I'm running around with mines that to be honest. The best time was when I was dropping then off a cliff edge on to some dumb ass radscorps that couldn't get me.. obvs I throw grenades every now and then. I just feel the weakness of guns is on a plateau. I do like the randomness of what you find and when but it seems I'm just using the same weapons all the time really. Fallout vegas even more vague in damage output.. or maybe its possible I'm just not playing it right

Is there any way to stop the mouse point to going outside of the game window in fallout? I've never seen a game where the mouse can just wonder off outside of the game once it's locked in properly but this seems to be a common issue in create engine games...

You could always try my technique: take bars, load up stairs where Elijah comes down with proximity traps like mines and gas bombs, and continuously walk into forcefield as Elijah comes through, as he steps out, the mines will detonate, killing him, and ragdolling you through the forcefield. It's dumb and it barely works, but it does work.

During my last Honest Hearts run I wondered why everyone was hostile to me including New Canaan. Then I realized that I had shot off Follow-Chalk's head before he blapped the last White Leg attacking me.

In fallout 3 and 4? Because wasn’t Prime contracted by RobCo and the US Army? And if so, that would mean that Mr. House would have been the one who had decided upon Prime’s development (along with the US Army). And if that’s true, why was there no mention of Prime in NV?

There was a non-cannon story for Fallout in which Los Angeles was referred to as "Lost Angeles". Most of the characters spoke of it like it was a ground 0. Which makes a kind of sense.

I fixed my crashing by installing an updated d3d9.dll available on GitHub for download, here: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases. Scroll down to the file named dxvk-2.3.tar.gz, and download it. That file contains d3d.dlls for all the various .dlls (9, 10, 11, etc.). You want only the d3d9.dll for NV, because it's a d3d9 game. You install it in the location where the existing d3d9.dll is located for NV. Rename the old d3d9.dll to something like d3d9OLD.dll, in case the newer one doesn't work for you. In that case, you can then just remove the OLD part and go back to where you were before. The download is a compressed file, so you have to uncompress it. The new .dll may still crash the game, but not nearly as much, at least that's the case for me. It makes the game playable.

I also have an Arc 770 graphics card.

Playing Fallout last night while high was both confusing and slightly terrifying! At one point I felt like I was my character in the game and I was running out of breath as my character was running! Another part my heart was actually beating while creeping though a hospital as I sniped Scorched beings around corners.
A Scorched in a nurses outfit coming at me with an axe was crazy terrifying! Like I felt I was gonna feel it when she hit me! I just did some research and Fallout 76 is a trash trove. Not counting Hiroshima or Nagasaki, an area where a nuclear detonation has occurred will take about 3,000 years to become safe again (according to studies on Chernobyl). Then again, if that is true, ALL the Fallout games make no sense. But Fallout 76 is the worst case. You’re entering a wasteland that was hit by multiple nuclear warheads 25 years after they fell. Now tell me how you won’t get radiation like that. I mean, yeah, in the other games, you get radiation, but only from barrels/food/areas/water. In Fallout 76, realistically speaking, you’d receive mega rads the second you leave Vault 76.

Nukes dont really leave alot of solid waste behind because they kinda blow it all up lol, the worst thing is the radioactive dust aka fallout (VaultBoyParty) which gets picked up by winds and scattered around in a matter of weeks

Chernobyl was the equivalent of many nuke detonations. I think it was 1 bomb for every hour the area was exposed. i read it was weeks soooo yeah, chernobyl was a huge exeption when it comes to nuclear exposure that stays for a LONG time.

I just started playing Fallout: New Vegas again for the 21st time (no joke) and I’m actually playing it slow and steady instead of speedrunning it, and I’m noticing so many more details!

  1. If you listen closely, sometimes in the adventuring OST you can hear the classic music from Fallout 1&2
  2. The Combat Armor, Reinforced is modeled as a reference to the Hardened Combat Armor from Fallout 1&2

In fallout new Vegas you know how you can use weapon repair kits? Well my plasma caster just broke and I have to pay 14000 caps to get it fixed and I really don’t want to do that and I have too many weapon repair kits that I need to use but all my other weapons are between 75% and 100% condition

I have the exact opposite opinion. I love Fallout 4's settlement system. It feeds my creative urges. I love being able to change the gameworld in ways that reflect the character I'm playing. It's one of the funnest parts of Fallout 4 to me and what keeps me returning to the game after so many years. I also love seeing the creative ideas other player come up with for their own settlements. Frankly, buying homes and enabling home additions made by someone else is very uninteresting to me. I see it as a primitive way of doing things, one that began with Morrowind way back in 2002, and I'm glad they improved on that model.

I'm kind of in the middle. People really like the settlement system and see great benefit in it, so it should stay. I'd like if it was separated from core game mechanics so it was opt in/opt out. It was always kind of disappointing in fallout 4 how many landmarks were just kind of usable settlements. I'd like the landmarks and points of interest to be mostly able to stand on their own and be interesting without my intervention. That said, I'd be happier with the camp system and one "apartment" type place with the old pre canned mechanics.

its not the prydwenn, its the cassahan, a sister ship. my guess is the maxson broterhood is going back west to either reunite with remnants of West coast brotherhood or to finish off the NCR-Brotherhood war from fallout 2. in fallout 4 its confirmed that maxsons brotherhood reunited with the western brotherhood, it makes perfect sense for them to return

||I chose to have Joshua execute Salt-upon-Wounds because I though it’d be more in-character for my courier to finish off the last remaining threat and send a message to the remaining White-Legs and anyone else (like Caesar’s Legion) that dares to attack Zion, its inhabitants, and its visitors. As Jesus says in Matt. 26:52, “for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword”. That and given all the atrocities Salt-upon-Wounds has committed he seemed beyond redemption.

Still super sad though that Waking Cloud never reconciles with Daniel about hiding her husband’s death and thus never truly at peace even after the defeat of the White Legs. Both her and Daniel meet the short end of the stick in this ending which sucks.

Legends of the Burning Man become more intense and widespread though. So that’s pretty cool. ||

The last 2 years they held an event in Goodsprings which is about a 20 minute drive out of Vegas right off the highway, cute little town but there's not really much as far as amenities. They have a couple of tents you can rent or camping lots but most people just drive in from the city

I'm assuming you are on PC, New Vegas is straight gonna crash if you play Vanilla Unmodded. Look up the Viva New Vegas Guide for the Game. It guides you into installing mods but they only aim to restore cut content and Fix Bugs, and give a crash free experience. I know this sounds like I'm being paid or something but it really is the best way to play the game without any issues.
