Has anyone else encountered an issue with downloading certain mods?

Basically it doesn't let some people start the download for Haze 2 after my recent update to it. 4 people so far have contacted me to let me know they keep getting the message "Operation Cannot be Completed" instantly upon trying to install it. Yet others have had no trouble with it at all.

Happened with another mod I updated recently as well, though I've only heard from one player about the other mod.

Anyway, a random discord user told me they've encountered this problem before. I've never heard of it happening before recently though.

When people have ghost space, sure. But not like this before recently. Not right after they click Download. Tried reuploading the mod a couple times to no avail. The players tried hard resetting but that didn't help either.

Worried that even if this isn't a brand new issue, it may have been exacerbated in some way with recent server maintenance perhaps? I don't know, tbh. Very tedious though.

From my understanding, "Operation Cannot be Completed" tends to occur in two situations:

  1. Issue with sign in to Bethesda.net, although if there are general connectivity issues this may persist.

  2. Mod is recently released or updated, and still propagating across the system.

Quitting completely and restarting sometimes fixes things, as does waiting half an hour. If it continues, folks should check for additional troubleshooting on help.bethesda.net

Whether this particular issue is new or existing, the frequency with which it occurs has clearly gone up drastically in recent days and is a problem.

Anyway, just reporting. Didn't think there'd be a fix or solution of course.

I have noticed bethesda.net is not working 100% correctly. Some mods' download numbers are being deleted and/or not recorded. The 'sort by' categories are not accurate (as in Most Popular - Daily will display mods that were just released with only a few downloads, for example). The ratings are not updating unless the individual mod page is opened.

Having issues updating mods on both the Xbox and PS4 side. I'm not pushing them through the CK. Just updating the descriptions with new contact information. I'm getting could not save data errors. Anyone happen to know of an issue that could cause Skyrim SE to be missing sounds (Weapon swinging, weapon impacts, footsteps...etc) while modded? My install is already on the main drive, so no it is not that.

Is your install on an advanced format drive? AFAIK advanced formatting is an issue because of the data structure of the sectors. That, however, is the extent of anything I know about it and could be mistaken. Hopefully someone else has more info for you.

Other than that: sounds require collision to be set up properly and if you're using a mod that doesn't have that set up then you're not going to hear anything.

@real sphinx I don't have a basis for my claim as I haven't tracked it before, but I think I've experienced a mod download number leak.

The Skyrim Creation Club Patch just got an update and when I went to update it, the mod said it couldn’t be downloaded and uninstalled itself. Then tried to reinstall and got the “operation couldn’t be completed” message.

Just letting you guys know if it helps in tracking these things.

I've also noticed missing download numbers fwiw.

Two mods/bundles I uploaded the other day that had well other 500 downloads the day after i uploaded them are currently sitting at 27 and 23.

People could download them no problem now at least but yeah, something screwy is going on with the numbers and it's very tedious.

Edit: Took a quick look through my most popular mods to check and all of their number seem to be stagnating at what they were at a few days ago. Whereas before they'd get a couple hundred downloads a day. Can't help but wonder if this is a side effect of the recent server tweaks that seem to have improved login time and reliability.

I've seen a few reports of "most popular" having an odd selection. If you see this, please include a screenshot which includes the mods and what you selected, so I can try replicating this. So far I haven't had any luck.

I don’t think it’s a ghost space issue as I just redid my LO yesterday. I know a lot of mods have had the “can’t download” issue recently. (SDA and Haze 2 to name a few) so just adding one more to the pile.

I am really disapointed that the Forums where deleted and we only have chats now to work on mods, all threads for mods and modding are gone , discussion is now limited in a vertical limited and useless chat where messages and things get posted and lost in few minutes

Let's say I have an issue with a mod I downloaded from Bethesda dot net. There's no way for me to ask the mod author anything unless I find them on Discord. Not the most user friendly for people who don't use Discord. And even then, it's not like the Discord profiles are linked to the website.

First, I don't know how to do that. Second, I don't know of a way to contact JohnSkyrim to ask permission to make an All in One pack. Third, If I did get permission, I don't know how to port it to Xbox. Chances are that JohnSkyrim might make the All in One.

Hmmm... Well that sounds like it is probably an issue on JS' side. Also, I may or may not be able to contact him soon, about something unrelated but I'll let him know about your issue. There's a chance that he may be unaware of the problem and may be happening to others as well.

@cobalt sluice I've just received word that JS just re-uploaded the mod, as it could be a problem with the servers the mod is hosted on and not an issue with the mod itself. Aside from that there's nothing more he can do, BUT this may have fixed it for you! Try redownloading it now and let me know how it goes.

Hey guys, I got kind of a weird issue going on and I haven't seemed to find anyone else who has come across it. I have been modding for over six years so the archive process is not new to me by any means. However, when I go to upload a file to Bethesda via Creation Kit the window where I am supposed to be allowed to drag and drop items from file explorer will not let let. I will try and drag it over but it will not add the file at all. I have submitted a ticket with Bethesda but I haven't gotten any help. Reddit just suggested I run in admin mode (which worked for about a week). I have uninstalled the game and Creation Kit several times but haven't seen any change. I tried it with FO4 CK and it works completely fine. Could any of you help me with this?

Ohhh. What about appData derpage? Something might be stuck? (I'm just spitballing at this point.) I had an app get stuck before in-between updates. Clearing the appData for the app and then re-installing fixed that particular issue.

The only thing else that I can suggest is to make use of the achlist and manually input your new textures into the achlist and then import. It's a .json file just with a different extension so AFAIK .json syntax applies.

Hi guys! I got a question about SCOL creation in CK

that tricky part where you save several models as a static collection and it either falls down or not. Any advice on how to consistently save SCOLs without that falling issue?

Create static items of each of them first. The "don't havoc settle" things (script & check box) seem to take a moment to take effect, and y ou go into game with a stack of tankards in mid-collapse, frozen in mid air

open an item, like a tankard. Highlight and copy the file path for the model. Close. Go to a static object, like candlelanternwithcandle, right-click > duplicate. Open the duplicate, change the name to statictankard or something, hit the edit button next to model. When windows explorers has you in meshes (usually automatic, sometimes have to navigate to it) paste the tankard model file path into the blue highlighted lantern model. Your image should change from lantern to tankard, but it will still be a static object. Close, save, use

Pretty much the same way people make shields, swords, etc., static for decorating walls, headstones, or whatever.

*be careful in copy/pasting the file paths, also. Sometimes it likes to highlight a space in front of the file path or something, and it will look right but won't work right.

If you're saving a havok'd item with a pivot, it will take on the havok of the item with physics. Tires do that, for example. Create a new mesh with static havok and then import it and use it instead of the item that has the other type of physics.

So I’m having problems downloading USSEP on Xbox, I remember seeing something in this chat saying to report the issue here, basically when I attempted to download the latest version of the mod some process bugged out and I got a operation could not be completed message, note, I only noticed the bug after realizing that some mods I’m using such as open cities and alternate start weren’t enabling due to USSEP not being installed and attempting to reinstall it had the same issue

You can download Creation Kit 2.0 for Skyrim and Fallout 4 from Steam. Use of the Creation Kit requires the PC copy of the game so that you have the assets to modify.

Before adding to the base game without knowing how merchants work, you may wish to create a new merchant so you get the gist of how they're set up. You'll also want to know how to set up a quest with quest alias for the merchant container and you'll need to know a bit of scripting.

If there is a way to make them choose full outfits, the only thing I could think of would be to create a leveled list that is a full outfit...on this type, you could check "use all." Create one for each outfit, then stuff them all into another leveled list, without "use all" checked. Drag that single leveled list into the outfit box. So they see their outfit, it has a leveled list which makes them choose one of the other three but not all, and then once they get into the one they chose, that one forces them to wear all of what's in it.

I have that with steel plate, currently. Because of all the Nordwar steel plate-ish armors. There are leveled lists with a full matching set of each. Then there is one leveled list with 4 other leveled lists, each of those doing all the possible cuirasses, helmets, boots, gloves. So there is a chance they'll spawn with one of several matching armors or they might spawn with a mix n match pile of armor.

Create a new door by duplicating the door form you wish to replace and add your door texture set to the model.

In the cell:

Find and Replace the specific door in the cell.

All data should remain the same after doing a find and replace. Be sure not to move the door or it will mess with navmeshing.

Note: For Skyrim, the model has to be set to remappable textures. I'm unsure if all models are listed as remappable. Several wood models (the shack kit) for example require new models to change the UV if using a wood that goes in a different direction than the default. Default to Windhelm (I think) wood, for example. For Fallout 4, the model has to have the BGSM file in the appropriate place on the model itself to be swappable. There are a few that are not in FO4 and so new models have to be created in Nifskope with the BGSM added.

To extend the CK mod list when you are uploading mods to Bethesda.net add the following to your CreationKitCustom.ini:

This was posted to the official Creation Kit Forums (on the FO4 side), but I am not sure if it made to the CK wiki. I have not checked, and I have been unable to log in for quite some time. This setting should work for both Skyrim and FO4. I just looked in the mod manager on Xbox and realized that a mod author had not been able to update their mod on Bethesda.net because they could not access their full list in the CK.

And if this setting has changed, would one of the devs be kind enough to share the correct setting? Thank you.

Good afternoon all. I am new to the Discord but a returning Fallout 4 player on Xbox. In the last couple days I have learned that the modding scene has changed DRASTICALLY and that mods like AWKCR and AE are no longer the go-to mods. So after doing some research I found ECO to make up for AWKCR. Loosing some of my favorite mods. After even more research I learned of Infamous' No AWKCR and AE For Mods File Dump which makes it possible to use AWKCR dependent mods such as Modular Leather Armor or The Mercenaries Set(I personally use the Stand alone "The Rebel NEXUS PORT (LOrdOfWar original NO DLC) ported by Author bhk1990. I contacted Infamous to see if they would/could be ported to console. I have confirmation of permission so long as credit is given to those it's due to. I however Have ZERO modding knowledge. Is there a reputable place to ask for requests (I have no desire to be annoying about it just hoping someone is bored. ) Any info would be greatly appreciated as I really don't want to use AWKCR and ECO in tandem. Feel free to PM me if that's a better route. Thank you for the time.

I think we are having a miscommunication, alaann. Let's try this again: I wasn't having any issues with uploading. I was sharing information after seeing that another mod author had obsoleted their Xbox FO4 mod when they could not access their full CK list. I have had that ini setting on my CreationKitCustom.ini since about 2018 or so when it was first posted to the CK forums on the Bethesda website. I cannot login to creationkit.com (the CK wiki) so I do not know if the setting has been added under the Initialization Files entry. I have not had access the CK wiki in quite some time either due to Chrome or other issues with the wiki site.

I mentioned crashy because we had gotten onto another topic. That of testing only on Xbox. Testing should be done on both PC and Xbox so that you can view any papyrus logs of any uploads. If porting, one should also make sure that Actor.pex, ScriptObject.pex, and other native scripts are not within the BA2 or BSA.

Mods created with an older version of the CK or with a data folder that has FS4E scripting in it sometimes will catch the native scripting. Newer mod authors don't always know they need to double check that they haven't packed the native scripts and brand-new porters may not realize they need to actually look at the BA2 or BSAs to ensure that the mods they're porting don't have dirty archives.

AWKCR on Xbox is not the same as the AWKCR PC version from Nexus. It has remained the same unless you use a mod that uses Gambit77's version (such as Classy Chassis). Gambit's Xbox version has a bug with Power Armor that was never fixed. (There is a patch that may or may not break things further. Use at your own discretion.)

There are two problems on Xbox: First is that AWKCR (regardless of whose mod you use) requires a Creation Club patch for the keywords for weapons and armors to be updated regardless if you download from Creation Club. Unified Clothing Overhaul or another patch are available. Load Order if using with AE: AWKCR (Valdicil's version) > AE > UCO (or a Creation Club patch for weapons and armor). Second is that AWKCR (regardless of whose mod you use) is an overhaul of all vanilla weapons and armors and so you can only use new weapon and armors or have to patch any other mod that updates stats of vanilla weapons and armors.

Do be a little wary of using Xbox weapon mods that were created purely in xEdit and have not been updated prior to Dec 2018 as there were weapons and armors OMODs decoding that hadn't been done with that tool until then. Check the dates of mods you download.

I believe that mod has spells that are essentially like shouts. The only other thing that comes to mind for Xbox is to use cheat room to give you all the spells in the game and it will include unobtainable spells. I think some of those spells are actually the shout effects, you could then favorite those and use shouts that way.

I'm not familiar with that one. I assume you have permissions from the OMA or are wanting this for personal use. Reilly's Rangers logo is both in FO4 (Creation Club) and in FO3. So if it has to do with FO3, you may need to wait for someone who mods that game to answer or ask in classic-mods.

If it's based on any of the standard FO4 power armors, there should be a BSSubIndexTriShape for it on the mesh. For example, PA_T45_Body.nif has it across the chest and is conveniently labeled PA_T45_Body_DECAL:0. The easiest way to look if you're unfamiliar with meshes, is to look in the CK under the model file and see if there's a blank or decal slot with a BGSM file. Then create a new BGSM with Material Editor pointing to your new decal and create your new material swap in the CK.

If you are familiar with meshes, you can use Nifskope to copy paste the BSSubIndexTriShape branch from a vanilla armor to wherever you want the decal (and move it around) if it isn't there. It might need to be done with Blender to get the wrapping around whatever piece you want correct and properly aligned. Also, you'll still need to create a BGSM for the decal texture. I don't know how much modding you've done or which game you're looking to mod so the answer isn't as detailed as it could be.

Another update. So far I have been able to upload to and update the mods pages. When I returned to the game on Xbox to download to test, I did notice that it jumped me right to the mods manager screen, and I don't remember being in that screen the last time I played. I am unsure if this had something to do with it or if it was simply a server hiccup or a miscommunication between Beth and Microsoft. Regardless, thank you to whomever pushed the buttons on the back end. Much appreciated.
