The Skate 1 demo started my obsession. Couldn’t afford skate for a long time bc I was a kid so I’d replay the demo all the time lol me and my friends would all take turns skating the community center over and over

But once I played skate 2 and got off my board for the first time, THAT changed everything for me lol became one of my favorite games of all time.

For me, Skate (2007) started it.
I was working as a server trainer and bartender in Austin Tx and went to a pal's house for after work beers. He lived on the other side of Austin, so I took a bus (and my longboard) and we hung out. "Hey, have you played this game Skate?"
Nah, I've played every THPS game. Is it like that?
Him: Just play. I'm gonna crash. You can let yourself out or crash here.

I booted up his PS3 and signed in with my old PSN account. Started the game. Trying to play Skate like it was THPS was a BAD idea. But by 7:30AM the next morning, I had gone from novice to out tricking my friend.

From then on, it was Skate for me.
But if I had to pick a title from the franchise that changed everything, it would be Skate 3.
When I started at EA in 2010 as a Tier 1 Phone Support agent, one of my first calls was for the Skate 3 Share Pack code. The caller had bought the game used, and I was supposed to send him back to the retailer. He said he tried, but they said 'tough luck'. So I generated a code. He was SOOO stoked. Redeemed it and went in game as we were ending the call. As he hung up, I heard him yell "#%^ YES!"

From then on, every lunch break, a few folks and I would line up to take turns playing Skate 3 on the PS3 in the break room. Then I got moved from phones to being a Forum Admin for all EA Forums. The forums I was assigned - Skate 3, Battlefield Bad Company 2, NFS World.

So when I got called to work with the Full Circle team for the skate. community, it was a no brainer. And like the studio name, my adventures at EA had come full circle. I was back home.

Buddy got a 360 launch day in 2005 at a target, he had that and CoD2. After he fell asleep i spent the next 3 hours playing the story mode.

I remember skate 1 demo too. I was a PS3 guy until i switched to 360 in like 2012 and i had the demo before buying the full game, still have it to this day

Got ya, yeah I doubt it too. Last thing I wanna say about skate 3's soundtrack, is that commin' home is the theme to superjail, so my love of skate 3 introduced me to an amazing show and a great band, cheeseburger. Highly recommend cheeseburgers self titled album

What up Skate fam! Beyond stoked how this is all coming along! I’ve been playing Skate since it all started back in ‘07. Salute to SkateFluckit and all the OG’s in the building 🫡

Got plenty of vids on YouTube if anyone wants to scope, but I’m here for one reason and one reason only… definitely want to get a chance to play this masterpiece in the making. I was a middle schooler when this game first came out, and now I’m a full fledged 28-year-old adult with plenty of things going on. TBH I don’t even really play video games on the regular like I did in the past, but I always knew as soon as this game came out my eyes would be glued to it 👀 The trailers are looking incredible and I just had to do what I could to get a chance to be a part of this.
