the scenario can go a couple ways:

they invited you before the cutoff but you didn't register/confirm before the cutoff.
they invited you after the cutoff.

either way, if you don't have the playtest in your EA app (and a couple of emails explaining everything), you didn't get into this playtest.

regardless, discussing anything related to playtesting ("friend invited me", "having bugs", feedback, details, contents of emails, etc.) is a violation of the Playtesting Agreement and the NDA. so it's not allowed here.

additionally, EA Help advisors cannot assist in playtesting issues as they do not have access to the Playtesting tools/lists/databases.

yeah, he got super sued - but also, it directly is related to HOW you access the info you leak.

like if you get invited to a playtest/closed doors alpha/etc. and leak, that's seems more civil than criminal (I'm not a lawyer). but if you hack into a server to get the info and leak, it's criminal AND civil (the crime of hacking, plus the civil damages you can be sued for). it's also dependent on what is leaked. game builds, campaigns vs. employee personal data, etc.

mostly, game companies just ban folks from their accounts when they break the Terms of Service/leak NDA'd stuff.

And I usually kept it under a beanie/hat, but one day I was taking some drinks out to a table and had my green 'hawk up and proud, with some Beastie Boys and Johnny Cash on my bar playlist.

I round the corner and there he was - the owner (retired cop). "Whose music is this?" Me: Mine.
He took $40 out of his wallet. "Keep playing this stuff. The guests are having a good time."

After that, he just called me Spike. And the rule was abolished.
