Hey y'all sorry for my probably unpopular opinion but what I'm wishing for the new title more than anything else is to adapt the art direction of Skate 1:

• Front lighting to avoid flat visuals
• Dynamic color grading and sound FX relative to the score ("juicier" colors and sounds with higher score)

Stuff like this made this game stand out for me art-wise

It's very interesting how folks talk about the "unrealistic gameplay" of the franchise in comparison to other titles, yet repeatedly request the most unrealistic style of gameplay for video contests.

Just an observation.

It's not walking on eggshells. It's framing your point in a way that gets your message across in the best way without initiating hostility.

We run the contests, and we're the judges. Full stop. Nothing to discuss.

Now, could there be a potential future where the community votes on top finalists? MAYBE. But here's the problem that I've encountered in the past on other franchises.
Spam voting for friends so they win. Which invalidates the legitimacy of the contest (and is sorta messed up, to be blunt).

(there's also a bit about security, violation of privacy policy, legal requirements etc. that prevent the judging of contests to be handled by a few community members.)
Now, if we do have a community vote on your favorite video moment, that's a bit different. But safeguards have to be in place (because every time I've done this - and it's been about 20 times over a few years before we removed the community voting aspect) someone complains that it was "rigged", "unfair", or "biased against them".

We're not doing that here.
But I do appreciate your feedback. We'll continue as is. You can participate or not. That's up to you.

I love this game. It saddens me to see all the hate in these chats when these people are grinding to give us what we want. I have been playing competitively since the beginning and always loved the community. The community I remember talked about the gameplay, not the politics. Skate team keep doing what your doing. I cannot wait till this game comes out and I think the true die hards understand this will be a work in progress. Keep doing what you are doing team your doing a great job.

In regards to realism, i don't think people would enjoy too much realism. It would be to much to be enjoyable. There needs to be a balance between realism and fun/enjoyable casual gameplay. It wouldn't be fun to have to be hospitilized for 2 months for a broken arm in-game from a bail lmao.

But a good balance of realism adds a feeling of progression or satisfaction. It's not fun to feel too hindered by something overly realistic
