as for the multiplayer servers... at this point I think the only reason the skate 3 multiplayer servers are up is that they realized the infrastructure still worked when they were turned on by accident

I REALLY liked the world design

I played skate 2 after skate 3 so what it felt like was skate 3 with a couple features missing, no darkflips, worse offboard controls, a better map and a whole new game's worth of content

as well as a different hall of meat system with its own pros and cons compared to 3

definitely worth playing imo as a skate 3 fan

the map is so fun to explore and the missions are fantastic

aside from the offboard controls the game feels just as good as skate 3 to play imo so having an entire game's worth of new missions and a huge new map to explore feels great

Couldn’t agree more. I replayed through all 3 recently and skate 2 just has the best atomsphere and level design. Gameplay feels 10/10 and it has great music like all the other games. Also big black as a skateable character with hall of meat and you could bomb the dam? And the secret areas you could find/unlock?? Top tier. Even the races were fun on skate 2. Yeah that game was awesome. Only thing I hated was the npcs getting in the way, that always sucked in the first two skate games. Also yeah the missing features from 3 are also a bummer but not that much of a drag. Def recommend it too. Skate 3 and 2 are just both really good games on their own honestly

since there will almost certainly be a way to launch yourself because Skate games have so many dynamic mechanics and give you so much freedom, what I want is if your head or feet hit a building or something like that I want your ragdoll to spin like CRAZY

I would absolutely say that the damping on the Skate 3 ragdolls were an attempt to prevent the exploding skater glitch and I'm sure that glitch will not exist in the same form in the new game

the exploding skater glitch happened I think because of the angular delta of the bones in the physics not accounting for the Euler Filter and I'm sure they fixed that on the way to the new engine

assuming it wasn't completely reimplemented

for those who don't know what a Euler filter is it's an animation term for keeping bones rotated more than 180 degrees in the proper range, and if you apply that after the bone deviates enough it causes a sudden change in rotation angle, and if a physics system does momentum via changes in rotation per frame, a change that drastic causes a WHOLE bunch of momentum to be applied, which can cause other bones to twist far enough for the euler filter to be applied, causing a chain reaction

from my testing I am almost positive this is what causes skaters to explode in the Skate series

I haven't seen any choc switches that are silent, but there modifications you can use to make them quieter

I just realized that the consequence of basically not being able to talk about the game until release drastically outweighs the fun of being able to play it early

so I need to make sure I don't get in

and yeah I want to give feedback but... like... I can't not talk about Skate. for that long

it'd be different if I was like a local but if I have to hide whether or not I've played it at all then that basically means I can not even discuss the game

that stuff was revolutionary when GTA 4 came out but now it's so well known how to do it there are unity asset store assets for that feature

well to be fair it did kind of exist before GTA4 but not like, as seamless a connection between the animation systems of moving vs ragdolling
