The seperation of leaderboards came from my plate a while ago.

The idea is that the full album and album points can continue to count and receive a reward for participating and being good at collecting.
While for the duration of the active Wave - a pot is filled up which would be spread across X leaderboard participants for that specific wave.

So you have could have a wave winner.. which i thought was a cool thing..

In addition to that- i want to introduce power raffles.
Where a daily raffle is held for PFP's in the ecosystem.
These pfp's are catagorized by a power level - and there would be a few brackets they would fit in.

Daily, a small reward would be raffled off to those PFP holders. (an emote disk, a bit of fuel, a disk, an accessory, or whatever.)

To hopefully entice more people to 'wear' the Illuvitar they like and atleast for everyone who doesnt own one to pick up at least one.

The problem however is that we are now so hard into financializing every aspect of Illuvium is that the fun, the heart and life is being sucked out of everything.

Its demotivating to see everything always get a number on it.. Community and council participate freely in this and we are somehow now completely used to the idea that everything we do in illuvium isnt because of fun, but because we invest and we demand an ROI. This is reality, doesnt mean its pretty.

I understand that web3 is unique in that it can offer realworld value to players and participants, but if it constantly dominates every conversation , because we aren't clear or have fully thought through what we actually want to do - WE are definitely doing something wrong.

My suggestion regarding this proposal. Take the time to make it (there is still time, no need to rush) - write it out fully, be very clear where it starts and where it ends and lock it in place for an X period.

Clarity is key..

PS: Ill try and find time to write up what vision and features id like to introduce to Beyond to make it more fun. It won't be about money btw. 🙂 ❤️
PSPS: Wave 3 and the album refresh is something i've been looking forward to see live and working for over 6 months - im excited!

excuse my English, I mean that in my opinion just one month after the end of the wave is too little. I would have liked at least 3 months, then if at the end of each wave the new wave starts the following month then that's fine for me, but I think it won't be like this and therefore we will find ourselves at the end of wave 3 worse off than we are today, with the difference that at end wave 3 you knew this was coming. Now considering the two charts (the old one and the one by wave) I would have given another 3 months for the old one and 1 for the current wave, why is this? because it would have pushed new people to also purchase wave 1 and wave 2 cards to continue receiving rewards for at least another two months. Honestly, when I read that Kieran says that it is no longer sustainable to pay rewards based on the income of the wave it makes me smile, let me explain: if I have an album in the top 50 places I get rewards every week until the new wave and I do the calculation I don't I don't even get back 1/20 of what I invested, how is this possible? doesn't the remaining 19/20 spent cover another two months of delay of a wave? Finally, the proposal presented talked about x3 rewards until the new wave, now how did this proposal end? that we will be given the rewards until October 3rd and then that's it until the new wave, right?

so today's proposal doesn't fully satisfy me, I would have been happier if the rewards continued for another 3 months, I would have been happy if someone told me that as long as there are waves and people invest the rewards will never stop, at this I would have invested my money much more willingly.

I think that beyond is a very well structured jewel, for me it is the thing that has worked best and will continue to work in the very distant future. For me, who also collects other things, it's wonderful to think of having a collection that I can show to everyone, that I can constantly enhance and that, unlike any other collection, gives me the opportunity to get a reward every week. For this reason the rewards for me should not stop, because even when the waves are stopped, in beyond you continue to study, buy, bond and fight.

To be clear, the idea was never to have breaks at all and the waves should basically run into each other constantly. Also its worth noting that Wave 4 Illuvitars are practically already complete in terms of their art etc. So unless some outside factor does something there shouldn't be a delay of any kind between Wave 3 and 4. But I think I see what you are saying regarding 1 month extra not being enough.

The concern is that whilst a wave is not available, players would be earning rewards without being able to purchase any new D1sks. You make an interesting point that the increased revenue from the wave based on the new metric would hopefully offset this. I am not sure I agree, but its very possible.

you're right, but players can't buy new discs on illuvium, but I guarantee they can buy discs in the market, missing cards and accessories, so even in wave closed in beyond the game continues. I purchased many more accessories before the end of the wave to continue fighting to stay in the top 50 places, now if the rewards only last a month, do you think I or others will buy more accessories, cards etc to continue fighting? in my opinion no, I would wait for the new wave and the time between one wave and another would be dead time.

I remember that between wave 1 and wave 2 the pause period was very active in the market, which I honestly don't see now... we should check these data and continue to look at them until wave 3. In this block period the rewards are still more important, because that ILV per week that you take gives you the desire to buy that 100 dollar card that you otherwise wouldn't have bought.

Waves were initially intended to have one month break (3mos active 1 mo break) before the next wave. If it was executed as planned there wouldnt have been more than 1 mo break in betwen waves which meant players would be earning rewards all year round.

As Scoriox mentioned the hard stop at 1 is only in the event there were additional delays. Note that the initial delay of waves was due to the DAO not wanting any more waves until open beta/post bear market. So keep this in mind when theres another push to delay waves.

Leaderboard rewards shouldnt be able to get back your "investment" on its own. You get the NFTs which could possibly get you back your investment from an awesome pull. With the proposal, you get possible airdrop points and leaderboard rewards. Even then not everyone would be able to get back the money to sunk into it. That's usually the case in NFTs and even in 'card' collection games.

Note we should be wary not to expect guaranteed returns from beyond as that makes it a badge as a security.

The new proposal, if passed, does away the x3 mentioned in the announcement. I checked the new proposal from Kieran and unless I missed it, theres no mention of the x3 anywhere.

See the first answer above. If the plan is executed correctly it will be continuous all year round subject to DAO pushing for a delay in waves (caveat).

i understand that people might expect to get rewards in perpetuity without additional investment.
but how sustainable is that.
my thesis, the value of ILV is influenced by general market sentiment and revdis. the token that the DAO distribute need to be meaningful. a good way to justify a success of any airdrop is to quantify the cost vs benefit

This really resonates. This kind of churn is inevitable when the line between investors and gamers is blurred to this degree.

I strongly agree that financializing every/most part of Illuvium is draining (for supportive players and the team)! There definitely needs to be a clear separation between improving the products and incentivizing players.

When it comes to the financial parts of the experience that the team offers, clear communication is absolutely required, and the promises made must be kept unambiguously. Kieran's new proposal is a great example of improving on that.

Your suggested features sound great, and I hope we get to see some of that!

you answering like this makes me understand that you don't collect or buy in beyond, also because you would know well that a wave won't last just 3 months and won't just have a one month stop. However, reasoning on your point, if on average every player in the top 100 on the leaderboard spends at least 5,000 dollars per wave, if 1 ILV is paid for 16 weeks (those in the top 50 places, unlike 50 to 100, take 0.5 ILV per week ) how much does it return to them in terms of investment as rewards? at the current value of ilv around 500/600 dollars, therefore around 1/10 of what he invested. Now if a wave delays more than a month, do you think that if you give that player 4 more ILVs it will change your balance? can you go at a loss? if you then consider that 90% of the rewards received are put back into Illuvium, what have you lost? Nothing!!! you made $5,000 and make your investors happy. So all beyond players know well that the rewards don't serve to match the investment, but they add to the investment and push you to invest more. It's easy to think that those in the beyond only want rewards and it's easy to support decisions that benefit the governance of Illuvium, which is why when you vote you have to do it with sense and honesty. Now just out of curiosity, can you say how much you invested in beyond and where you are in the rankings?

Now I'll tell you something else, I have a friend who recently started playing on OW, with 250 dollars invested and playing a lot he got 28 ILV in rewards. Instead, you say that if beyond players take 4 more ilvs the system doesn't hold up? in my opinion you should look elsewhere and hold on to your faithful investors/customers/collectors (who are the same ones who invest in land, ow etc etc).

Really have no clue where youre coming from and trying to antagonize me when all I did was give you factual answers. For the record, I was advocating for a more than top 100 for beyond to be more inclusive. In the same vein, I advocated for the change in airdrop mechanics as the current one was not giving us the results we wanted.

A very good proposal overall, thanks! One detail I did not see mentioned is what happens with promo waves? Are they counting towards the seasonal leaderboard they correspond to? If so, what happens when a promo wave is dropped in between 2 normal waves (what counts as the end of the wave, the end of the normal wave or the end of the promo wave)? Do promo illuvitars count toward the airdrop the same way as a normal illuvitar is?

As you know the illuvidex still has to be fixed (fantom listings and listings not showing in profile of assets for example, and any minting issues....as well as credit cards would help wave 3 sales) but I would hope illuvidex sales would count towards airdrops as this is the lubricant of the beyond system that allows people to get what they need or want and also sell to buy more disks or what they need, and as you know something the dao gets fees.

It appears as though rewards are continuing for the foreseeable. Not indefintely as nothing lasts forever and we don't know what the future holds, but if they ever should stop we should be informed in plenty of time.
There will also be 1 month between waves where rewards will continue but if there are any delays, rewards will be paused until the next wave is resumed,
I think Wave 3 will be launching at the end of November so we still have just short of 2 months to go.

If you mean the diskplate, emote disks and battle board skins, yes, we should get them before wave 3 (any time would be good, really, as these are not tied to the next wave in any way).

But there is 0% chance to receive the wave 3 disks before the official wave launch. The reward disks for purchasing wave 1 came 1 week after the launch of wave 2, I expect something similar again.

Imagine the team paying out 5000 ilv per month to a team of 10 developers that, over the course of 3 months, fixes those things. Oooh i would much prefer that. I personally dont care about getting 5-20-100 more ilv per month. I much rather have a fully operational site + use case for my practically full set of illuvitars. (Maybe thats just me tho...)

i think for wave 3 when community voted to pause, it would have been fair to say "we can pause the waves if you like, but rewards will also be paused" because its a community decision to puase.
But if the team is not ready or decide to pause, i dont think it should fall on the beyond players.

Just read that thread again, I won't be unhappy if the focus goes to extending the leaderboard instead of the airdrop either. I think we are already winning with just having 2 leaderboards and those DO incentivise buying the right way.

But I don't think a (maybe smaller amount) of airdrop would do that much damage either. This is not an airdrop that can be botted, and a large portion of it will just come back to the project anyway. I know I will use my rewards for buying up illuvials from the market, which then helps fuel price, token price etc.

Droprates shouldnt be different from wave 2. So T5s have a 0.4% chance of being rolled. They include: Pho, Ador, Rhamphite, Dualeph, Adorius -> total stage power of 9+9+3+1+1 = 23.

So a 2/23 to get a T5 S3. T5 chance is 0.4% -> 0.4% × (2/23) = 0.0347% for a T5 S3.

In other words 1/2875 to get one of the two T5S3s. And with that, comparing it to 1/4000 in Wave 1, and 1/3250 in wave 2, you so far have the highest chance of getting any T5 S3. But because you need both for this album, you need to hit that 1/2875 twice lol so the T5 S3s will probably be the most rare out of any T5 S3 we have seen so far.

Because of this, the free megad1sks given away as rewards for wave 2 purchases may make up for this fluctuation in rarity 😄

And yes i took the liberty of removing the airdrop from the deliberations. If we want to add it, i think we should do that in wave 4.

With barely a month of time before wave 3 i think we should take the easy way and add/change things the community can get behind quickly and that the team may be able to implement on time.

I liked how illuvium beyond provided a gamified version of staking that I felt was ironclad that actually made me want to buy rare illuvitars because I felt they were solid investments. If someone wanted to go for leaderboard rewards they would have to buy my illuvitar that I left unbound to be competitive for rewards but now I feel as if that is all very uncertain so why should I or anyone else feel an urge to buy if they aren't sure about the future of this project. I don't like to FUD my own bags but I'm just being real here. Leaderboard rewards shouldn't be able to be turned off at a moments notice it just undermines the whole idea of going for album points and devalues everything in my mind.

In my opinion rewards should be turned back on and infact increased to stimulate demand but that's just my opinion

I think it's been a long time since anything was talked about or happened... all this talk and false promises are killing Beyond.
1 pays the promised rewards (blocked only to migrate the portfolio), all this does nothing but undermine the trust of those who invest.
2 fix the market filters, it is not possible that nothing will no longer work a month after the launch of wave 3.
3 ok to Kieran's proposal, against the blocking of rewards one month after the end of each wave, as already said several times, Beyond players never stop playing.
4 if you are sure that after a month you will be able to launch a new wave, include in the proposal that if after a month of blocking the wave is not launched you will start paying the premiums x2 again, in this way there is a commitment on both sides.
5 to bring new players into Beyond extends the ranking to 150/200 places, ok for the two rankings (Legacy and wave).
6 leaves the weight of mega discs and standards like wave 2, to increase the sale of mega discs the power of the rare illuvitar could be increased from 1450 to 1600.
7 extends the time of the waves, giving collectors with less availability the opportunity to invest with less short times, launching one wave after another will only discourage new players, those who join after the end of wave 3 I highly doubt they will try to complete the album for chart legacy.
8 thinks about retaining current players and then studies how to bring in new ones.

I will surely compose an overview of community feedback. In regards to point 6 but in general, I would suggest retaining a more broad perspective.

What is it you want to achieve? Last wave we saw thresholds with 2 megad1sks per 25 d1sks sold. That was a major incentive towards regular d1sks.
If your intention is to sell more megad1sks compared to regulars, then simply reducing the personal goals in monetary reward and laying a stronger focus on Leaderboards could have the same effect.

While i understand the desire to state: Change power rating from X to X, or weight from X to X, it would allow the team more wiggle room if the statement is more generalised.

Something like: I would prefer seeing more megad1sks sold to increase the portrait value of albums since players love Holo/finishing collections rather than adding strong accessories to the rare portraits.

Then the team has plenty of levers to pull to make that happen. Such as leaderboard rewards, thresholds, particular bonuses for megad1sks or new ideas that change the beyond dynamics.

I don't intend to sell any more mega disks, I read that someone was trying to understand how to do it... mega or standard, the important thing is to buy, but actually when you buy a mega and inside you find 3 x 2.5 accessories it's bad, all the same if you find two bad cards... then changing something may make sense. For the rest, however, I see that no improvements are made, even for the rewards which are a drop compared to what was invested. According to what had been said, the rewards were suspended for wallets and would have resumed x 2, now this has not happened, so the community will remember that what was announced has no value because it can be distorted.

@scenic frigate converters were created as a mechanism to allow players to benefit from correcting market variations but they can't correct quickly (particularly since the decision to disallow fuel being moved back in to zero).This would be needed if for for example you turn on massive demand for just one fuel type.

Remember also that the demand would be massive but likely short lived. If the rest of the economy was running really well I think that make for an interesting time, allowing players to use their intelligence to benefit, but in the current state I think it would just annoy people.

I just had an amazing idea!

Instead of funneling the money from beyond sales for wave 3 to a safety pool. Use those money to buy ILV which can be distributed for the leaderboard the next ten years.

That way, the long term game (investment) is still there, and there will be a point in buying every single wave from here on out.

Doesn’t cost the DAO anything, as the wave would probably be a giant flop without it

The previous proposal had its flaws to me. The next one (if it passes, and i'm not the one who can decide that) plays into the Beyond mind more and imo is more directed to our game rather than any generalized web-3 pay to airdrop campaign. So for me it's a clear winner.
Now whether it passes scrutiny to go public will be seen in the next days. But we all know we have exactly a month left. So it will be soon. We practically can't wait much longer or nothing can be implemented based on a proposal. We all know it and everyone has been eyeing it internally.
I fully understand how you feel, but it's in the pipeline. So bear with us a little longer 🙏

Yeah it's difficult. The main push has been on the other games, as Beyond kind of supports them with PFP's and Aesthetics. So as long as those games are picked up, Beyond supports that.

On its own, Beyond is "just a PFP collection" after all 😄 (says me who has a top 100 collection with 40% bonded)

Anyways, that may have been fine these past months, but with Wave 3 impending it was time to look into how Beyond could be improved.

Concerning Overworld, we have Brian on call. And Nil has been very vocal in the voice channels and #🎮〕illuvium-arena regarding balance patches and changes. After the proposal goes live i bet someone will take on Beyond more actively as well. ❤️ These are the best players after all. And if not, i'll see if i can take on that role informally 🙂

Please first understand that 25 community votes only means it gets taken to the council. The council are the ones who vote. And Kieran is a Beyond collector (and the person who drove its creation) and Animistas has a vested interest in its success through EthLizards/BitB. I don't think there is any bias in play but if anything there's a bias towards Beyond success being prioritised more than it should be.

Great proposal Rogier! I especially like the new limited NFT rewards. I hope this will be a precedence and we will see more of this kind of incentive in various parts of the game. Every gamer understands the value of super limited items and I think these can compliment token rewards in all game modes. Costing less for the DAO but still giving out great value for the top players. Not to mention giving our incredible artists another venue to express themselves.

the fact is that I always see the top 3 in the same position on the leaderboard, I have only seen changes in the ranking between position 10 - 11 and from 11 to 110/120 but the most frequent movements between 20 and 80. I think that maintaining a more active leaderboard needs to push into this range

Is there an ETA or Fix for switching out you illuvials manually? I keep getting an error when I try to place one. Used to, it would bring up a window allowing you to view and choose which Illuvitar you wanted to place. I do recall we could disconnect our wallet and reload everything, but I can no longer find that option either.

If anything were needed to be changed, the IMC would have had to vote "revisions needed" and it would go through another process.

Since they all accepted the proposal, it is passed without any changes the community would be unaware of. 👍

hope the do the missed rewards to the original wallet not the passport, and is there any reason we couldn't buy disks with ILV? And it seems that could be paid out right now.
We will be getting it on the passport going forward I assume and that would save a lot of having to transfer it numerous times to convert and bring back on L2.

I don't think migration of wallets has much to do with dex behaviour(1). The dex already had issues and then an update, which unfortunately made things worse, was rolled out roughly around the same time as wallet migration. Its still on IMX and the underlying queries and the like don't care if you have a passport wallet or otherwise, its just an address. The migration itself also caused a lot of activity on the network which may have exacerbated the frequency of the bugs.

(1) It's possible some portion of the bugs are related to passport. It's just not the main factor.

I can live with dex not working perfectly, there are many marketplaces. If the buy bit works you can find stuff on one market then buy on dex if you are worried about extra fees.
Obviously buy and load have to be working flawlessly. Bonding too.
Debatably some album issues are okay if they have a work around (i.e. something like place by ID).

Its better for all to work, and I assume thats the plan, but many of these things are not absolutes.

Definity like to see what acc. is removed has to be burned...and over all burn mechanism is some form. Not a huge deal for me personally to be able to unbond (probably a few high point dogs I bought on the secondary I could improve if I want) but certainly open to the idea 😉

It's a tough one because a lot of people have already made decisions not to bond in the hopes that thier clean illuvials would maintain value through higher rarity/collector desirability. To take this away would be a huge blow to alot of people, as essentially all illuvitars coud be clean and their stategy is essentially scrapped right along with their potential leaderboard earnings that they coud have had should they have chosen to bond.

Again only my opinion, but I think we need to let be what has happened. Draw a line under it and don't change it.
What could be done however, is that the rebonding & cleaning/washing feature could be brought in for Wave 4 for example, but only for illuvitars minted and bonded from Wave 4 onwards. This would be more acceptable as everyone participating from that moment would be fully aware of the ground rules and could therefore make a fair and informed decsion.

To be clear, I still wouldn't have the cleaning/washing feature, but if we had to I hope it would be done in a way that is mindful of the previous investors that have already made tough/potentially costsly decision based on the details/terms they had at the time.

Edit: Just to clarify, rebonding would be available to all, only washing would be available to illuvitars minted after the feature is implemented.

Just an addition. If implemented in this way, the sacrifice wouldn't have to be that great, it could just have a ETH/FUEL cost. Simple.
Although I believe accessories should be burnt if washing or rebonding, along with the ETH/FUEL cost.

I have an unpopular opinion - get rid of accessories in the future... I feel really great getting a good pull in a disk, but a bit sad when I bond a really nice illuvitar for leaderboard reasons. Really wish the art/dev time wasn't in fitting accessories to illuvitar art but continuing to make more illuvitars and possible variant art

I would have thought the album features would have been updated with awesome art, gamifications and hidden surprises to delight the existing base. That buzz would then have been harvested and fed into twitter etc... with lots of activities over 30 days promoting Beyond leading up to Wave 3. The secure hardware wallets should have been long done, had time for users to test and feel safe & happy. The leaderboard rewards finally brought up to date and we should now be witnessing two weeks of leaks, sneak peaks and tasty teasers to attract new comers.

-Clean up LB and get read only wallets working on it
_Make sure disks can be opened easily and properly and answer if fuel will be used this wave
-Clean up listing on illuvidex, showing things no longer available still for sale, and can't clean up own offer and sent portion of our profile.
And feel free to add more to share with him, but obviously we need to get all info, marketing, mechanics ready now, even if it means not working on other things for a few weeks. This is a very profitable product for ILV and something a lot of people like and would like (there should be marketing spent on this). Work your magic.

The dates are not abritrary. The only one date that I think can be classified as such would be the main launch, and even then its not like there wasn't a significant amount of estimation done. Furthermore the arbitrary decision wasn't really the date, but the idea that we need to release soon.

Everywhere else the dates are a reflection of the work to be done and the expected timelines. In the case of Beyond promotions where there are partners and co-marketing activities involved, often a fixed date is mandatory, potentially with penalties for missing it. Beyond's track record isn't too bad in this regard.

But I also %100 agree it would suck if the secondary wallets and dex stuff isn't working at launch time, and I too would prefer a small delay over a rushed release.

Long term sure, but right now Fuel is probably not revenue, I'm assuming there's a fair bit stock piled. If Fuel is revenue because it has to be purchased from DAO, then why would someone choose to use ETH to purchase Fuel and then use that Fuel to buy D1sks over buying directly? Its two steps rather than one.

For me this adds complication to UX, and to dev team, and it reduces revenue.

If there was a healthy Fuel economy with a good balance of supply and demand, then I think it makes sense. Its a good long term plan, but right now I dont' think its at all worth it.

All I see is that fuel price keeps dropping steadily over time. The main reason is there is no demand and massive amount of supply.

The way to reduce supply is to allow many ways to USE the fuel. Sure there will be a short term reduction in revenue... but that cost is minimal in order to reduce the supply of fuel and create more demand for it.

If fuel was able to be used, one - fuel producers would be more likely to use it instead of sell... and two - people would need to buy fuel in order to purchase things in the Illuvium universe.

Would solve the supply demand issues...

If you are saying use Fuel and Fuel only then I disagree. This is just added friction over ETH which will hurt any partnerships.

Furthermore increasing Fuel demand (and thus price) without increasing demand for Overworld outputs, just makes the Overworld even less desirable.

Only people this benefits is land holders, and even then it's likely a small temporary benefit (because ultimately eventually, they get their 5%).

it does everything the game. The dao keeps the money, fuel can be generated by land owners with the dao making some to keep it in boundaries, therefore rescuing the poor land owners who have really gotten the short end of the stick (and my understanding years ago they would get 5% of all ILV revs, not just of fuel). And then the game is run to be fun with less ponzi scheme type mechanics. And don't a lot of tokens just have governance as the purpose, even other gaming tokens, and they don't go to zero. It's still ownership of the whole enterprise. eg if ILV was bought out they'd have to buy your tokens from you. I think everything has to be considered. The token could be worth nothing a year from now if things go poorly, so what rev dis?

My feeling was IM was a bit too "its AI" + "we manually tweak model to make it feel right" ... don't get me wrong the end result was pretty good for stuff that was traded a lot, but it was also somewhat a self fulfilling prophecy: whatever price they said became the right price because that is what people used to price things.

Some of the obvious flaws in the IM approach were:

  • poor pricing at higher ends (very rare stuff was typically way under valued)
  • poor response to low volume periods, once waves ended and trading dried up the prices barely moved, anything that was selling was typically way under IM value (noting this may have been intentional)

So the idea is to use something that is analytical, and any 'tweaking' must be expressed explicitly to users so they will know exactly what was tweaked and why. The results are not necessarily "better" but they are explainable/provable.

instead of rev dis I think people would find selling ILV to be on the Beyond LB and getting the rewards would actually yield more than staking. And of course rev dis don't matter to crypto prices...look at meme stocks. And I do believe we will have a crypto gaming pump at some point if this mini-bull run continues...don't know if it will be lasting but it typically is how crypto markets work. Could make wave 3 a big success Atlas_Wow

If you are sitting on thousands of eth, you don't really care, but a lot of us are converting other things, and yes if it goes up 5x then would I still buy a disk even if I had eth, as there are other options to use it, spend it or sell it and move to cash (which we should all consider if it 5xs 😉

Even if you are sitting on thousands of ETH, the current pricing setup is still bad. As the value of your ETH increases, the value of everything in game increases with it, completely eroding any potential additional buying power. Like holding USD.
On the other hand if everything was priced in USD and the value of your ETH rose, your buying power would increase drastically, making all in game items much more attractive.

I also think fixing the USD value per wave would be useful instead of sticking to one price for all future waves. While time goes, USD valuation changes and effect of USD would change so fixed USD amount per wave would be better.

Beyond is a collection game.


2. You open the d1sks and inside there will be creatures (Illuvitars) and Accessories
 -- Illuvitars have a "Power" and you can make them more powerful by dressing them with accessories (called "bonding")... once you do this you can't undo it, so be careful about what you bond
 -- Both Illuvitars and Accessories come in different stages and tiers, defining how rare and powerful they are
 -- Illuvitars also have other variations like the expression and the background image... they can also be holo! These features also impact rarity and market price.

3. You can place the Illuvitars in an Album which has slots for the different cards
 -- You get points for completing different parts of the album.
 -- More powerful Illuvitars will award more points

There is a leaderboard, and being on that leaderboard will earn you rewards (but note the entry point to get on their is quite high as lots of people have been collecting for a long time). Beyond activity may grant airdrop points, but that will change between seasons, I'm not sure what the plan is for the next Wave.

Some people like myself choose to collect without playing the Album game.

It's worth noting, at least in its current state, Beyond is not really a game. I mean you can argue that it is, but I would say its better to describe it as card collecting with gamified elements.

though there is a season 3 only LB with rewards, so we all are at the same starting point. And the LB was expanded to 200 places, which offers a chance to get on it to even newbies. And overall it's fun and the best community in Illuvium 😉

There's an argument to be made that you will probbaly get good prices right now as market is very slow. After Wave 3 there will (probably) be a lot more activity, and more people vying for leaderboard positions.

Now if you care onyl about making money, then I would say there is definitely better ways, making profit from LB is probably going to be pretty tricky (given the outlay required).

Of course if Illuvium turns around Arena, and does all the things Kierans planned, who knows...

But I think it is better to get involved because you enjoy it, rather than basing your decision on future potential 🙂
