GOVERNANCE INFORMATION

Illuvium is governed by a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), which is an organization that gives the community the power to influence decision-making in a significant way.

In Illuvium, the community can suggest and implement changes to the project's design. These changes can cover various aspects, such as altering the game features or the economic structure tied to the project's token.

PROPOSALS

The primary way for the Illuvium community to make changes is through the Proposal Process.

It’s important to distinguish between suggestions and proposals.

Suggestions can be made in #1020759212172775464 and will not go through the governance proposal process. Suggestions can include ideas, recommendations or any other feedback intended to be seen by the team or sub-councils.

Proposals are concrete, well-defined changes or improvements that someone would like to see made. Proposals can be posted in #1126838877429182506, and will be the main topic of this explanation. Proposals come in multiple types:

  • Illuvium Improvement Proposals (IIP) = Introduce new systems or ideas
  • Illuvium Configuration Change Proposals (ICCP)= Change existing systems or proposals
  • Governance Improvement Processes (GIP) = Introduce improvements or new processes that are governance specific
  • Governance Configuration Change Proposals (GCCP) = Change existing systems or processes currently implemented in governance
  • Gameplay Feature Proposal (GFP): Proposals will be used by the community for two purposes: A) Modifications to existing gameplay systems; B) Additions of new gameplay features.

It’s important for Proposals to follow a formal structure, to clearly communicate the intended purpose and implementation of the proposal. See an example proposal here:

Once an IIP, ICCP, GIP, or GCCP reach 25 or more upvotes by the community, they will be voted on by the Illuvium Community Council (ICC), and ultimately, by the Illuvium Main Council (IMC), at which point the approved proposal will be implemented by Illuvium Labs.

Gameplay Feature Proposals are unique as when they reach 40 upvotes from the community, with more upvotes than downvotes, they will move through normal proposal voting by the ICC and IMC. At which point the approved proposal is added to the planned feature list where Illuvium Labs will present a GDD outlining their preferred implements. This GDD is also subject to community review and upvoting, then Council voting takes place, at which point the approved proposal will be implemented by Illuvium Labs.

Only thumbs up (👍 )and thumbs down (👎 ) emojis count for community sentiment. Other emojis will be removed.

COUNCILS

Proposals are voted on by Illuvium Community Council and Illuvium Main Council. ICC & IMC are elected by the Illuvium community every 9 months, and exist to research ideas, recommend changes, assist the community, and ultimately vote on Proposals. The IMC is composed of four members elected by ILV token holders and one Illuvium Labs representative, and ICC is composed of 5 members elected by ILV token holders.

If you have a Proposal idea, you can contact any Council Member to get feedback about your idea. The Illuvium Community Council can help you format your idea into a Proposal and gather community sentiment.
