When someone mints an sILV2, this means that there will be 1 less ILV. And then you burn the sILV2 when you use it.

Well, I've read every post and every argument for the IIP (I can't post in there unfortunately) and I'm still not convinced "alphas" are the right way forward for illuvitars. It'll most likely pass so we'll get to see the success (or failure) of this last minute change soon enough.

sILV2 is a game-coupon esque token. There is no use case for it other than being able to use it in-game. Since there is bo game or anything to spend your sILV2 on, the market value is significantly lower than ILV.
So either hodl ILV or Hold sILV2 until there is a way to spend it (like Illuvium Beyond)b👍

Id only see it happen if sILV2 could be used, and ILV went down hard but the people still held onto sILV2 because they didnt realise that ILV price went down. Then you could sell sILV2 to the unsuspecting, buy ILV, see sILV2 go down and then do arbitrage trading like that xD it would be crazy.

I think we should do multiple iterations of Illuvitars rather than jump to a new set barely 6 months after the first set of illuvitars are done.

With 25 illuvitars per batch and 131 unique illuvials, that would take 5.24 waves. If each wave takes 3 months that means we would have an entirely new set of illuvials +25 Illuvitars coming out in March 2025.
(5x3 + 6 months = 1 year and 9 months after first wave... +0.24 wiggle room)
While exciting, i think that is a bit optimistic. 😄

I think the idea is that you need a bunch of different illuvitars for all the different collections. Like you can have a super high level ramphyre but that’s not gonna help you out with your water illuvials collection.

So you could have (one day) a reason to prefer one Rhamphyre over another, but you'd have no way of knowing how to do that now. There will be multiple (alpha) waves of batches of 25 Illuvutirs, and multiple unique collections to find.

If you miss the first wave you'll miss out on some cool pictures and will never complete your collection.

We may want to do a community call to action and have them all keep track of their rare-flips. Then we can figure out what the threshold is for being considered rare.

An alpha d1sk with two Illuvitars of which one is guaranteed T0 that are both Alpha.

T0's will come back every wave. So their value will diminish exponentially over time (unless they give it unique stamps per wave but that would make it a very special asset which is contradictory to what they want).

So if you scrap the T0 because it wont hold its value, you get 2 Illuvitars from the regular Mega, or one stamped alpha one.

So the stamp would have to be worth 1 entire Rare Illuvitar.

in the case of disk alpha we have 120,000 illuvials between normal and rare
20,000 guaranteed rare

100,000 T0 but the latter have only 3 illuvials (average 33,333)

while for the normal and rare the number must be divided by 22 illuvial (average 6363). but in any case, being guaranteed for each d1sk and being that number divided by only 3 illuvial will always be 5 to 7 times more common than any other illuvial

Ah right! Well Illuvitars only add to the experience of Illuvium zero where you will then finally be able to show your profile picture. And it is purely Art+logistics so it wont hold up the production of IZ in any major way since the art for it was successfully revamped a month ago. 😄

I see it as: it is a net positive for any asset in the Illuvium franchise when Illuvium expands and creates a bigger ecosystem.

That’s not true. If you buy it in the timeframe AND the system still thinks some are left. The system is slow by approx 2-15 minutes. So if all sell out in 2 minutes and then you get online it could be you see “sold out” and can’t buy them. It could also be that the system still thinks some exist that don’t for 15 mins or so. It’s a bit hard to tell and depends on the load. Which means that the faster they sell out the more time you will have after.

If they sell out slowly over 2 days or so then chances are the system will be correct to a coupe mins.

yes it is! The Illuvitars are based on the Illuvials, and their tier is a given! 🙂
Tier will represent their rarity and I can imagine them potentially in a small way impacting an Illuvitar's power. But details on how power was calculated haven't been given yet.
I know that Accessory tiers do indeed determine how much of an increase in power you will get. A tier 1 stage 1 in the current version gives 2.5% power boost, while a Tier 5 Stage 3 will add a 20% power boost.

The rarity of each expression differs which is why the words "Common, Uncommon and Rare" are placed under the images. I don't think anyone has said there's going to be 150 new illuvials each time have they? The team also has a much more reliable pipeline now than there was at the beginning, which I would imagine speeds things up.
Biggest take away I would think though is "we want"....intentions change and if we need to stretch the waves out to give us more time to finish up new illuvials then we can do that. We also have other things in the works that would give us more room if we needed, without having to delay releasing new Illuvitars.

So much of whats being discussed regarding the future is going to be dependant on the success' of the games when they're launched. Probably smart to consider any discussion of future plans as having an asterix next to them until then, as thats going to dictate any plans going forward

In each wave, illuvials will be featured.

You will have 25 T0 unique illuvial portraits (with 3 expressions and 2 finishes each) that you can obtain from Regular packs. These T0s will come back for every single wave.

And then there are the 25 T1-5 Illuvitars that you are familiar with. These will only be available in their specific wave.

Yeah that would be the case if they did 6 waves of 25 each. But it doesnt add up with current illuvial numbers íf they only make a single portrait per Illuvial.

They would have to do some adding or re-showing of illuvials. After all, they have said multiple times that there are 205 Illuvials + the very rare unveiled one. So that makes 206 total.

Then there are 75 T0s (5 unique, x5 affinities, x3 stages) of which they will only feature 1 per stage. So this comes down to 156 uniquely possible Illuvitars. Then you can remove the 25 T0s since they will be available regardless of wave. So 131 and you are left with 5 waves of 25 each, +6.

I was trying to figure out my budget for illuvitars total, how much sILV2 I want to spend, and how I would break it down between d1sk types. I think this is about what I'm looking at
Hopefully the ILV ratio goes up more by Mar 7, that will make a big difference.

Also wild when you see how many more standards you can get, is 1 alpha mega d1sk REALLY worth 25 non-alpha standard d1sks? I dunno but I feel like I have to open at least 1 alpha mega and buy 1 for long term holding.

Hmm but maybe we can take advantage of ILV price appreciation. So I'll buy my alpha d1sks, and then hold off a bit on buying regular mega/standard disks.

Maybe ILV will get up to 0.07 on the ratio before Wave 1 ends. In this case I can increase my purchase to 14 megas and 73 standards and keep it under my budget.

Bit off topic for here, I'll post this but we should continue elsewhere if you have more questions.

sILV2 spending power is ILV's value, so we want ILV to go up so our spent sILV2 is worth more. If you have 1 sILV2 and 1 ILV is $100, you can pay for $100 worth of assets with 1 sILV2. In general I think ILV will do very well this year and appreciate since we have all the releases lined up. Maybe a small bump hiccup late March due to retail unlocks unpausing, but we don't know how that will go.

sILV2 however is currently trading at a little > 50% value of ILV in the Uniswap pool because we can't spend it. Once sILV2 can be spent then people will buy sILV2 for less than the cost of ILV, spend it with the power of ILV, then sell the assets just under the ILV value they bought it for. So buy $50 sILV2, spend it for $100, sell asset for $90, go back and buy more sILV2 in a loop. This will cause sILV2 to go very close to ILV value. We saw this happen at landsale.

I bought sILV2 a while ago to buy lands in the June 2022 land placement. A similar situation to the Illuvitars placement.
Buying sILV2 as a currency when awarding Illuvitars packs can be a mistake. I don't think there are that many people willing to spend more money than the sILV2s they keep staking. The secondary market for Illuvitars will fall in half the value neutralizes the economic advantage of the sILV2 discount.
Right now there is little information about what the Illuvitars and the packs are; I don't understand what the difference is between the 4 versions, if there are more placements, it would be very educational if they put in a real or simulated example of the difference between the different products.
I bought lands with sILV2, despite the discount I'm still losing money.
I will try to buy Illuvitars with the few sILV2 I have, I will immediately put them up for sale on the secondary market in ETH. Once the Illuvitars are sold I will buy sILV2 again, repeating the cycle. I will not risk buying $8000 in sILV2 at $47 to see the token drop to $30 during the Illuvium Beyond placement and sale.

The issue is you're denominating in USD which was never used in the sale (and ETH value was retained). But still, 15k vs 20k is not as bad as you think it is for something that has no utility yet. Wait until land is actually usable for selling fuel in a real marketplace and you can expect a huge chance ETH value goes higher than your first bid

Afaik it's just "place an order and you'll get your order fulfilled" type of arrangement. I don't think there is any sort of scramble to get into gas wars or anything. I'm pretty sure it's happening on IMX (layer 2). There are a limited amount of "alpha" stamped disks (20,000?) but I think that will still be plenty. They are 5 times more expensive but have no actual advantage points-wise. Disclaimer: I have no idea what I'm talking about but someone will come and pick up these pieces. I'm excited about this and I am not a person who gets excited about this! They've done a good job on the psychology side of things, managing to get me keen.

We don't know which lvl is consider a rare.
I assume something like this:
Lvl 1 common
Lvl 2 uncommon
Lvl 3 rare
Lvl 4 epic
Lvl 5 legendary

Also assuming , the guaranteed rare mean a lvl 3 or more.

And Holo probably will be a small chance to get any illuvial Holo Foil.

Considering one of the functionalities of Illuvitars is that they can be used as profile pictures, the alpha stamp alone is probably sufficient. Tying functionality to the alphas, beyond the swag aspect, would be kind of contrary to a first edition, it would be a dedicated separate offering.

That's just my opinion though - There will be a lot more data after the sale that we can look over as a DAO and decide if Alphas functioned as intended, or if changes are warranted.

I mean, it's a DAO - It could change before the next sale. I'm not convinced that sufficiently comparable products currently exist, so the sale data will be extremely valuable to identify what may need to change. I wouldn't consider any variable to be off the table, personally.

I don't think limiting PFP functionality to alphas only would be a good call though. Alphas are extra, they can't counterfeit the baseline functionality of non-alphas.

No. With a mega D1sk you keep rolling until you get something rare. But we don’t do rarity like others. Since there are so many combos rare can be for any reason. It’s a combination of all the parts. You could get a tier 5 (they are usually rare). It could be a holo (usually rare) or it could be something strong in all categories but not too in anything.

We might be making the holos a bit more common. Currently the chance of getting the rarest thing is about 1: 1 million. Which means with only 120k Alphas the chance of getting it is low.

If we change holos to 1:20 from 1:100 then it makes it still unlikely to be found but not SO much.

People might say that this too common but remember all attributes are random. So it just means that everyone has an ok chance to find a holo Atlas but finding those rarest holos is still tough.

The point is that with things like Pokémon they count the rarity of the individual card not the attribute. When I say holo is 1:100 or 1:20 people think that is low, but it doesn’t really capture the odds well because you have to think about backgrounds, expression, etc.

Getting a rare expression is already 1:13. Then you need to think about Tier and Stage. So I think having 1 of every 20 illuvitars holo is good.

We set up the ratio of 3 accessories for every 2 Illuvitars because we feel that is about the ratio people will bond. But putting 5 accessories on something is the best way to improve it. Remember that a top “naked” card is 4,000 power. A fully bonded tip card is 9,999.

There is a limit to what we can do since it is on IMX and most of the controls are inside their bounds. There is also dev time. For the first wave we cannot afford to spend so much dev time perfecting everything when we have no idea the demand.

Does that mean this wave has more chance to be botted? Yes. But if you get to the sale at the start then your order will be filled. And we don’t expect them to be sold out instantly.

But we can’t chase shadows. We have to see how it goes. If they all go instantly we can have a rethink for future waves and maybe that means bots try changing higher on the secondary market. We THINK it will be ok. We just can’t make promises.

Power is a very complex calculation. Basically we map baseline rarity to a point value such that it is close to logarithmic.
