I have Tier 1 land and currently I have 5 biodata, 15 facts and 15 blueprints, what should I do after this step? Please guide me.
Take notes on how you did it and prepare to do it all over again for season 1. Then at the end of the season you'll get to mint them for keeping them when open beta launches.

Hi all, new here, I just bought teir 1 land but cant produce any hydrogen, have a bought a bad plot? is there any other way i can get hydrogen without mining it?
Converters
One way to "abuse" the marketplace the way I see it is to use it as unlimited storage. You can build several silos, but you can also send thousands of units of fuel against a higher trade (unlikely someone will accept that) and when it is expired it stays in the marketplace, for now it seems indefinitely and in this matter you can accumulate much more than you could ever do with building a lot of silos.

New builders would potentially be obtained by in-game purchases. The team had a thought of allowing people to earn them after X levels. But imo it would make more sense to spend for them. This would be done in either sILV2 or Eth.
The marketplace will be in Alpha mode for the upcoming Alpha seasons. You will trade with a bot. But it seems like you'll be able to put your offer on the market and another player would be able to see that on Open beta.
SILV2 is an everything-token but cant be traded for fuel. It should be one of the two tokens that allow you to buy speedup gems for IZ however. (Eth+sILV2)
For the overworld, if you want to go on a run, you would burn X amount of sILV2 instead of fuel. You would not buy fuel, you would directly get into the zone by burning sILV2. How much, idk. Something like checking the ILV/Eth value and at the same time the fuel/Eth value and then burning a similar amount of sILV2 based on that?
Trading fuel on the marketplace for sILV2 shouldnt be possible... but the team will have to explain what their vision on that is exactly.
To me it seems like the only reason to have sILV2 and ETH on IZ is to buy the speedup tokens that in no shape or form help with scanning or fuel productivity (or builders potentially).

noob question - an Anti-Solon Inverter II - converts 2 Crypton or 2 Hyperion into 2 Solon? The upgrade from I to II reads like it would convert 1 into 2 (since it has the +1)...

There is no sale planed in a long time. First we need the public beta to see how much fuel is needed. Than if more needed a sale can be asked for via a IIP.

There will be a minting window before the Public beta. So you find them and wait for that window.

There was this concept that the passive generation from converters would be influenced by nearby harvesters (as though traces in the atmosphere were being collected from the harvesters). I haven't been able to test it. Is that what you were thinking of?

I know it increases mat lab efficiency but we don't need more data banks to hold more illuvials scanned right? Technically should only need one?

One data bank holds at least the 15 for season 1 not sure if they hold more
Illuvium Zero Tech Update [04/10 - 04/14]
Hey everyone, here we go for a progress update on IZ!
- We shipped v0.1.5! This update came with a bunch of QoL for the marketplace, better fluidity in game and many gameplay bugfixes. We've been very happy with the current feedback!
- We've been discussing a lot internally on season 1. We do want a v0.1.6 hotfix with some last minute work, but both will be very close to each other. This hotfix is currently ongoing final dev work before going to QA for release! We should have a date for both in the coming days!
- Work has also started on minting blueprints, though it won't be out for a few more weeks, at least until we have a clearer picture on the minting window.
- We've been bringing back the web build from the dead, making sure everything works and testing some new ideas relating to this (I want to see permalinks to share your plot with others)
- In terms of pure gameplay, we won't be introducing any other new feature in the alpha. Most of the team has switched on the beta since last week, I'll be updating you more often on how this is going after season 1 release.
- We've started optimizing all of our assets for better distribution. Here are some things that you can expect with future versions:
=> more animations and VFX on screen
=> game size should be significantly lowered
=> loading times should be shorter
=> the game should be Potato™️ compliant and run on a TI-84* - We've also started work on making our sound design 10000% better, with the better inclusion of the audio team in our process!

v0.1.6 will come before season 1, but concretely the data wipe will reuse the same build yes, with a version bump to 0.2.0. We're working on the ETA specifically for season 1 today.

Is it just me or do others have the same problem with the terminology?
In the "My Offers" tab the UI displays an offer I accepted before in the "Uplink Offers" tab (first line), which technically isn't my offer, at best it is my trade with someone else.
This is the first problem, but it is just a naming issue, the second one is bigger:
The UI shows what the other party is offering in the first column called "Offer" and what I am asking for in the second column as "Asking".
When I then actually create my own offer, it shows it as "Pending" (second line) with Offer and Asking reversed.
Which technically is correct, but I don't really know what column displays what I am getting from a trade.
I have to somehow deduce from how I setup the trade to know that it is the first column.
If the first column was called "You get" and the second "You give" it would be more obvious.
Will we have Zoom out feature in Alpha ?
Yes, this is a major issue in trade chats in pretty much any game as well.
Just as an example (which perfectly illustrates the above picture): "Trading 45 Crypton for 50 Solon"
What do you get and what do you give? (Hint, it depends on who made the post).
Consistent columns should definetly be a thing (What you give always on the left, what you get always on the right?).
So it definetly could be more clear, either by a "You give" and "You get" column or by color coding (either with or without +/-):
I personally would also like to have the "My Trades (Offers)" tab as the first tab. I definitely need to check it more often than the "Uplink Offers" tab. Uplink Offers would then also be logically closer to "New Offer" since both are ways to accept or create a new offer.

Seems like this Alpha build is getting the hotfix, and minus any unforseen bugs and the minting implementation, the Alpha build will be in maintenance mode while everyone is working on the Beta build.

not just you, I've submitted a fairly extensive feedback/suggestion ticket that goes over the problems with the marketplace's current UI.
Personally I think it's pretty important the "sides" remain consistent throughout the UI. The player's perspective of the trade (what they're giving) is what is ultimately important to the player themselves. Just pick a side and always have the player on that side. I think "left = player" and "right = the other end of the trade" is pretty much de facto standard.
I mean look at the world of warcraft trade window. Simple as can be, and massively effective to tell instantly what is being traded in what direction.
This highlights a huge problem with the way feedback is reported and the follow up discussion or lack thereof.
I have also reported feedback as a ticket and never heard back.
I would suggest we post feedback here in Discord and not via the ZenDesk link.
Moderators could create threads for each feedback received, if they deem it necessary.
They should treat us as free testers, who are willing to help.
All feedback has to be logged in ZenDesk, we have been told to stop creating threads 🙂

That might be true, but only if it is easy enough to report the issue.
If the issues were visible to us as threads we could simply vote on each thread's issue and count the numbers this way.
It is actually quite time consuming to report a bug via ZenDesk and much easier to click on a vote button.
I would guess a lot of bugs won't be reported because people are too lazy to enter all the details in ZenDesk.
But the important part is: I never heard back from my feedback, e.g. I asked to rename "My Offers" to "My Trades".
I don't expect my feedback to be implemented, but I would at least like to know why not.
I mean, we are alpha testers and part of the team, not just customers who report an issue and then wait for a solution.
I at least would like to help out where I can.

There is actually another way to implement the UI:
Uplink Offers only shows offers from someone else, when I accept one of these offers, they are always sorted to be on top.
The My Offers tab should only show the offers I created myself. Right now it also shows the accepted Uplink Offers, which is very confusing and duplicate information.
Then the naming of these tabs makes more sense and this change should be real easy to implement.

These are just specifically about IZ marketplace UI. I've got several other requests open that I've gone back and forth with the team on, provided further testing and details, they've asked me to try something or give more info, etc.

Most ticketing systems have templates. That's normal. Pick template from a dropdown, fill in the blank, send away.

I am just disappointed about how the current market place UI works (in details) and don't know how to tell the dev team.

No worries, I do harbor wishes that there was a bit more back and forth, but ultimately our place is to offer suggestions. Their place is to take the suggestions and do the design and implementation on it.
The marketplace UI is a big indicator of that, like if someone just put a screenshot of the intended UI here first we would have flagged how unclear it is right away and saved some work on the implementation side.
(but UI is easy to change... getting the functionality is the important part)
Exactly, just a screenshot would have been enough, we could have discussed it in Discord and wouldn't have experienced this time as delay, but as productive work/help we provided.
And we could even use ChatGPT to summarize all the feedback we generate in Discord and send them to the dev team, if they don't have time to be in Discord.
But honestly: Being active in Discord would be an awesome way for the devs to learn what we as investors and gamers like or dislike.
Agreed, HOWEVER I'd like to just submit the idea that maybe they are at least reading Discord, and may have even anticipated that feedback. It's very possible they internally built the marketplace and already had in internal notes "UI is temporary". They could very well have expected this kind of feedback specifically on the UI and intentionally didn't say anything about it to us at all to gauge our reaction and confirm it lines up with what they want to do.
I've deployed plenty of network automation web interfaces and sometimes told my team "it's ugly but the core functionality is there. I'll clean it up and make it easier to use, but I want you to play with the functionality and tell me how that works."
so since we're out of the loop we kind of have to make assumptions, but that's not necessarily an accurate picture of what they're doing.

the ideas forum is the mechanism for the community to raise ideas, the team is welcome and encouraged to chat with the community in the areas they are interested in, but requiring the team to be bombarded with ideas is not a productive use of their time, dev's don't decide on features the product team does
(like everyone else they can influence features)
I might have another way to implement the marketplace UI:
Let's say there are only 2 tabs: Current Trades and New Trade.
Current Trades shows the trades currently pending or transporting.
New Trade (picture) shows a Filter UI on top where I enter my intentions in regards to what I am offering and accepting.
It would automatically fill the table below with available Uplink Offers, with the ones best matching my intentions at the top.
I can either accept one or - if I don't see what I like - I can click on the Create button (shown as a kind of place holder for a new trade).
This would automatically take my filter settings (what I want and what I am offering) and use them to populate the fields in the Create/New Offer dialog.
I would then also set the Fulfill Time and Discount Percentages and then it creates a new Offer and switches to the Current Trades tab and shows it there.
This UI would reflect the flow of my intentions/actions from top to bottom and reduce the number of buttons/tabs substantially.
Its not ideal to discuss while its in development then developer may lose the thinking only discussion will be remain.. Best time is when Beta released then you do discussion about improvements.. I took Video Game Design which taught when and where it need to be in design cycle.. there are lot of games out there follow the guidelines and made it through..
Oh, I would strongly disagree here. The feature should start with prototypes and pictures when development hasn't even started yet.

Yes, that could also work. A focus group with DAO members and the core team.
Design by committee is generally not very useful, the UX team does the UX design, and in the past they have engaged with smaller focus groups to watch their interactions, gather feedback, etc.
If you care about a certain feature, or you have a specific design that you think is useful, its best to raise it an as an idea on the forums and get others to agree. The UX and product team will check it out and determine where it fits with regards to feasibility, utility, priority, and so on.
I am not asking for design by committee. I am not even asking to make design decisions. I am asking for the ability to provide feedback before a feature goes into the development stage.
There is no way for me to provide feedback as an idea when I don't even know what is being developed.
Ideas is for new feature ideas, not for providing feedback for features currently under development.
I think there's a massive amount of overhead in trying to do that in any useful way.
Its much easier to gather feedback on a thing that exists, rather than a drawing or idea.
How would you even know what the flow of trade on IZ is like if you had never used it.
(and even if you are great at this, how would we know that you are a great UX designer and the other 5000 people replying are not)
Its not that it is impossible, or that it has no value, its just not necessarily that simple to get come up with a useful process.
Doesn't the UX team create a prototype before they send the feature to development?
These prototype are developed in special tools so they can be easily changed during discussions.
There are only a few people in this channel providing feedback, not 5.000. And they don't have to be great, just saying this sucks is enough to get the UX team to reconsider their prototype design.
There's work for the game designer to convey the feature to the UX designer before it is built. Usually it includes an initial documented design, a few meetings, some back and forth on ideas, etc. And often it still comes out wrong and has to go back to the designers.
Specifically trade screens DIDN'T go through this process as the timeline was tight. That feature was very much "Get something that works done quickly".
I can't see a good way to make this work for the community for features that don't exist yet.
For updates to existing features I think its much more workable (and we have literally done this before, for example the UX team and game designers observed selected private beta members playing Arena for the first time in special feedback sessions).
And to be honest: It shows.
The first version of IL:Z was almost perfect, everything was easily discoverable and I got into a flow with just a few exceptions.
The current marketplace UI does not give me that feeling.
Okay, for alpha it is good enough. But for Beta it needs to get better.
Sure if your point it the trade screen UX needs to get better there is no doubt.
Open beta will be different again as its about interacting with real users not bots (so much more focus on locations, etc).
Please remember that sometimes it is more important for us to get people to test functionality than for the UI to be final. In these situations, we make the call to cut corners so that we can deliver faster. This is one of those situations. A critique of "this one didn't look good" is fine, but we already know it and accepted that when we built it. This isn't an issue of needing outside parties to be on a design team before we begin building, and your comment shows that anyway. The first version was almost perfect, because we did not cut corners.

Keep in mind we also post WIPS of UI in #🚰〕leaks . We could do more of that. I think the overhead of doing that is much lower and achieves almost the same result as you suggest.
Plus it's almost always the implementation of UI that delays us, not the creation of the UI screens. So we can post them well in advance, and you guys can nerd out over them.

Didn't follow the whole thread but just a comment on first version of IL:Z, I thought it was okay with the UI design but usability especially mouse/keyboard controls needed much work... you know things you expect to work like when you drag your mouse around it should pan the camera, simple commonplace things like clicking here, holding left click here, clicking here should trigger this popup vs that, hovering here should show me what's behind, stuff like those... not even keyboard shortcuts but if they want the game to be snappy these should be covered well
Agreed, but at this time I played it mostly on a Galaxy Z Fold 4 and there it felt almost perfect.
Also I remember the pathing mode when it kept placing paths on tiles I didn't want and I realized it triggers a path (places or removes) whenever I release my mouse click too when dragging and it was a bit frustrating. Also expecting arrow keys or wasd, not hard to add. It surprises me how in popular mobile games usually when I try to guess something most of the time it works the first time, very intuitive to make it accessible to the widest range of players

Does the efficiency rating of an inverter/collider/lathe affect the passive collection time for gathering it's fuel type? Also, do paths affect this as well?
In this Alpha season 0 there are only 5 illuvial biodata you can find with your scanner

efficiency rating will affect the gathered amount, but the paths are the one that reduce passive collecting time
Paths don't affect passive collection times. With or without them it's always 24h or 48h for fuel converters (depending on level). I've checked this over the last few days and the same converter triggers it's passive collection at the exact same time every day regardless of paths.
Efficiency however, does affect the amount you get per collection.
good to know - thanks. I was curious because I had an Anti-Solon Inverter I with a path around it and set my alarm for 48 hrs. It took closer to 50 hours for it to populate.

hey guys, i need help choosing t1 land, how do you know what to pick
Try to get balanced elements (1,1,1) and crypton fuel. Crypton will allow for leveling up nexus faster instead of needing to convert.
Depends what your plan is to do with it. If you're planning to scan a lot and make blueprints, I'd look for a plot with lots of open space (resource nodes close together, or close to the edges).
If you're going for fuel production the layout matters less.
Resource and fuel types are most relevant early-game and become less important later on when you have access to the marketplace and converters. but as MegaDaddyGX said, a balanced plot is easier to start with. And having a crypton mine saves you a day not having to convert fuel to progress with your Nexus upgrade. Once you're past that you will have to convert for the other buildings, so it's not required to have, just convenient for the first few days.

However, players will be able to mint the blueprints they researched as NFTs during the last few months of Season 1. Those minted NFTs will persist beyond the Alpha data reset and can be used to craft skins in the Overworld once we reach the Open Beta.
More information on the minting windows will be provided as the game approaches the open beta stage.
neone know how to check if an account is synced with your wallet? My wallet works for my account on illuvitars, but it wont sync on Zero because it says 'my wallet is already synced with another account'... still havent been able to figure this out and play and its been a few weeks 😦

So probably what happened is you accidentally created a second account using the same email address. It was a database bug thing the team missed and has been working on fixing.

Hi , how many storage facilities do you guys have for carbon, silicon and hydrogen at nexus level 7? I feel like you would need 8 of each, is that correct?
And also I have been scanning with singularity scanner every day and for two weeks I haven't found anything, only Archie and that's it.
On my T4 plot I had 1 of each but since everything is max level now I just added 1 more
I can't upgrade singularity scanner to level 3 without 8m hydrogen if I remember correctly, at this level . One max storage can store only 1 m, that's why I'm guessing you need 8.

I've got 6 storage for each element at level 8, they hold 2m each so, the Max I can hold is 12m. If you need 8m then 4 at level 8 would get you there

Im just scratching the surface of Illuvium, so i dont know much yet, but i think you shouldn't look at land just as a sellable asset, your land will produce fuel and resources you can sell. To compare a possible increase of ILV in 30x next bull run (far from safe...) with a land you should calculate the "present value" of all the resources you will produce and sell, and i dont think we currently have enough info about fuel prices to do that
I see the land being a very active investment where else for $ILV, buy,stake n forget abt it. Passive
I see the potential for lands believe me, but there r possibly 4 land sales that will happen eventually each time diluting the supply n decreasing how much you earn from them in half each time.
I would be a little less hopeful for a 30x. It's difficult to get back to ATH since the amount of tokens in circulation will be like 15x of what was circulating back then. I think the circulating supply was roughly 600K at some point since everyone was locking their tokens up to get the staking rewards. During the next bullrun, I expect the stakeholders to have their tokens unlocked and thereby not have such a huge spike in value like last time.
i understand your point and i dont know which approach is better..i just dont think we have all the data we should have to compare things. The only thing i know is that land are the only asset in this game that we know the maximum number os unit that will ever exist, all the rest is a little bit numb for me at this point.
and i saw lot of people talking about Megacities (minnimum 2x2), so let say they sell all the 100k lands..you will have way less 100k people owning them because a lot of people will own and sell at least 4 plots as 1
its scarce enough to sell for big value when a bull run hits
Regarding production, for example in Sorare (thats the game i know better), usually if you invest like 1.000eur (1 team) you can recover that investment in 1 year or so just with thresholds (eth payments for hitting 250 points). In here im assuming owning a land will give a good return aswell besides the variation of the asset itself

- $ILV got to its ATH without any actual gameplay, Im thinking about the bull run after the next, not even the immediate 1, reason being it will take time for the game to release to public and gain a user base, you believe even with those going back to ATH is less likely? Lots of great points here, how I see the lands in circulating now.
There r 20K lands and they will lets say earn X amount at its peak (like all the lands owned by everyone maxed out),
So on 2nd landsale overnight we have 20K more lands, within a month they can be maxed, now that X amount earnt by everyone with the initial 20K is pretty much halved. So lets say if you were earning 1K, within 1 month its gonna be down to $500.
N this repeats for 3 more times to get to that 100K land
maxed within a month imo is a bit optimistic. But if people spend on it and support with other lands I think it could happen yeah.
True, but thats a short term view. If this game really have success as many of us believe, 100k lands are scarce AF. All of us will want to have at least 2 lands, some will have 4 or more (like the guy buying 50!!). You just need 30.000 normal players and 10 degens to have prices skyrocketing like crazy (long term)
Well I love playing the game, but not everyone here would be that type of player/user of this eco-system (bought into the project, just for the gameplay, dont care abt profits)
Life happens n other things needs to get priortized. That would mean not having the active participation it requires to get the most of these lands. I got nothing but respect for ppl that bought the lands for the gameplay aspect of it. I would have loved to be one of that, but thats not the reality for me. So Im not missing that part.
Ya the P2E aspect of it will be huge, I do see any of major landsales helping to get more eyes on the token and driving the price as well. Great thing abt the land is its tied to whole series of games that may come later. But any success the project has would be directly tied to the token as well. Yee that was the initial plan coming into this, use the resource from IZ to play Overworld. But potential wise, $ILV seems like the safer play for now. N given I most likely wont have much time to play anymore, switching over to $ILV might be the right play for me.
And you can still use the revdis from ILV to buy in-game resources as well. It plays out the same way, except that for Land you'd have to play a game.
I think playing the game can give you more of a complete feeling within the project, while ILV can sustain you equally well if not better, but keeps you a step back and away from feeling inside of the ecosystem.

Well the plants will become interactive and they won't move so that would be a lot easier. It will be like a first version of fighting in the overworld. balancing and UI-changes will happen soon after I imagine.
But they'll need to add some fighting-mechanics to the Plants first. Idk if that will happen for the open Beta. I imagine it will, since they have shown animations for fighting plants over 6 months ago. (some stinky plant shooting blobs of acid at you)

I think you need to leave it open for a bit after upgrading some buildings so that it auto saves after X time.

I think I did same, since then I added one more step to switch between lands and login out before closing every time and not lost progress recently after that

Raoul Pal was talking about how NFTS (and you could think of land as this) should do better than the underlying security (eg eth or ILV)...not sure, but makes some sense the way he explains it. You will have people with profit in a bull market looking to spend crypto and that could lead to land and blueprint prices (etc.) jumping. ILV will have to dilute most likely to keep the runway in good shape (ie this is sell some shares or options to VC), so perhaps, land will end up being better than ILV...but you can have both, and as with Illuvitars get rewarded with ILV for hitting certain levels.
We are in season 0. Still no date for season 1 should be soon.

Just throwing this tidbit out there after I seen a morphopod vid on Twitter... What if Illuvium Zero in some way could control the spawn of Illuvials in some regards... Nothing really financial, but people create breeding factories, and this would increase the pct of rarity chance say like Rhamphyre is at 0.0001 and everyone together as a community started breeding Rhamphyres, it would jack that up a bit? just a thought off the top of my head, very debatable idea, maybe just by bad luck, a certain illuvial isnt producing well... give it a boost... nevermind, people confused with actual breeding like minting NFT's, not what is meant. so scrap this

ILV could be admitted as a security by CEX with upcoming regulations, lands shouldn't be admitted as a security.
I guess that is a reason why ILV is not going to be integrated in game, it's role is more like security than commodity, but new fuel tokens are going to be a commodity produced by the lend owner, something similar to Bitcoin mining.
Lands are something more similar to miners, becauce you will have to spend your time to produce the additional value as fuel and use it in game or sell, but not just buy something like ILV token, stake it and get the passive revenue, as securities usually work.
I think that lands will have not a less potential than token, i don't think the team is going to sell more lands before they start being too expansive for the new gamers to come to the game.
Also most lands are accumulated on 10-20 addresses so i guess some land price manipulation will take place at the next hype wave to this game.
This is also indirectly confirmed that lands price it not falling, some one is buying holding the "wall". The same thing as i saw at the land sale a year ago. When each tear land reached the specific price, they all were bought by bots.
I guess all land holders are passengers of a rocket that is not going to launch soon, but when it will launch, the small number of passengers that will remain on board, will be rewarded.

ILV vs Lands?
The lands without a doubt. From your comments I don't see you as too much of an expert. You must have invested in lands and ILV and also sold them to be able to comment with perspective, from FOMO to FUD. There are things I have heard that are not correct, such as the new land placements will be 20000, they will probably be smaller 5000 for example.
In 2 or 3 years there will be 9 million ILV if the price comes down to $15 it will be about $135 million, I don't think it will go back up to $100.
I think T1 lands will stay between $450-700 for a long time.
I see a big problem and that is that the buyers of the first lands paid an overprice and we will get a very low price for the sale of fuel, we could really win with the blueprints. Given the low return they will give, there will not be a great demand. The demand will be in the plans to fight in ARENA and provide fuel in OVERWORLD.
I don't like how Illuvium is managed at all. Currently, I am focusing it towards the economic failure of the game: ILV token will have a bad development [recommend not to buy]. I have withdrawn the $18,000 stake, converted into $5,000, I have assumed that it will not recover; as for the lands, I curse the day I bought them, I was stupid, that's why I'm selling them little by little, despite everything I think that with the final release of illuvium Zero they will double [I recommend not selling].
There is no doubt that the game will be a success but financially for the user and investor it will be a failure.
That said Scoriox in a Youtube, I think will arrive before summer.
I also recommend others to hodl land, so that the amount of lands on the market are lower and I can sell mine for more. 🧠

They all can get blueprints. Some people will create tier 1s to be scan heavy because of the lower resources produced. Some people will make a tier 2 resource heavy because of the 33% increase in fuel production and the 3 total fuel sites compared to one fuel site on a tier one. It’s easier to scan more on a tier one compared to a tier two.

It’s hard to say overall. Only 100,000 lands will be sold total. 20,000 are currently out. I’d say if you believe in the project then buy now and you’ll see some good returns regardless. Always remember though that the game is being built for fun not profit. Granted it will most likely gain a very large profit over time.
Also know that when season 1 starts whatever blueprints you obtain you’ll be able to mint and keep or sell later on.

Balancer pool with Eth and respective fuel. Still unsure whether guide rails are necessary or we will see full on free market.
Plan now is to have X value for fuel +-25% guide rails where the DAO adds fuel whenever price of fuel reaches +25% and burns when it reaches -25% to keep it steady.
Otherwise the DAO is supposed to produce 19x what the lands produce which is done by minting that amount extra when Lands put Fuel on the blockchain. [When land holders move fuel they pull it through the pool initially and thats what the DAO checks orso]

With Megacities and Scanners, will there be edges around the 4 plots individually so that scanner efficiency at the edge of your plot isnt nerfed? Otherwise it may be better to keep low tier lands out of megacities if you want to research.

I think it is just 1 bigger map of 50 x 50 or 75 x 75 squares. More place to place your scanners but not in the middle of the map where normally the limit of a 25 x 25 would be

being late to the party, buying adjacent land was not in the cards. A YouTuber claim that Holgraphic statue improve the chances of finding Illuvials that match the same affinity (I think he want to speak about the affinity of the land).
But I answered and by experience I saw that anyway we can find (at least for now on alpha version ) only Illuvials who match with affinity of the land right?
For example on all Hacyon Sea lands I found only Atlas
Ti-Ru on Crimson Waste, ...
Do you agree ? if not , can you show me a exemple (like an Illuvial found on a Land and doesn't match the affinity)

Odds significantly improve with more scanners. 7/8 scans a day = 49-56/wk vs 1-2 scans/day = 7-14/wk. I try and keep scanners at 80% efficiency n up.

I think eventually there will be a lot more, but with these 20K plots... well... one could look one by one the owners, I don´t think currently there is an easier way to check. But for the time being there will only be these plots and buying on secondary market is expensive, no silv2 can be used, so I seriously doubt there will be many more. But let´s say 98% of people will not have megacities on day 1, so he vote is clear.

Why can't we have the graphics of zero more like this ? Don't you think the zero graphics look really outdated ?
Honestly, I think the team should focus on something other than reworking the entire graphics now just because you (and maybe a few others too) find the current graphics outdated.

Not really, cartoonish graphics tend to age better than realistic ones.

Cause it's just how it is. The cartoonish graphics is almost like art, better longevity. While the realistic graphics are out of date the moment a better engine exists.
Its also the style (cartoonish) Blizzard is using for games such as Diablo 3, WoW etc.

Illuvium Zero Tech Update [04/17 - 04/21]
Hey everyone, here we go for a progress update on IZ!
- we are shipping 0.1.6 with a hotfix right before season 1, but as previously announced, this is mostly to setup everything for the start of season 1. You should see no major change in this new version, it's all security related and the tooling necessary to switch to v0.2.x!
- this version is currently going through our QA process, everything is looking fine, so I'm expecting a release next week!
- expect a week for season 1 start as soon as 0.1.6 drops. We'll be announcing all of this on socials of course. As a reminder, this is how it will go on the launch date:
- Zero will go into a downtime. We expect it to take about 1 hour, during which you will not be able to play.
- On the backend side, we are resetting all of the plots and goals. The end result should look like a general reset for you.
- Once the data wipe is finished, you'll all be informed of a new version to download. If you don't update, an in game popup will prevent you from playing and invite you to update.
- This will all be communicated in advance so that no one is surprised.
- blueprint minting is in heavy development on the client side, we want this to be ready in advance for the minting window
- meanwhile, beta work is very much underway with some awesome advancements:
=> we've managed to reduce game size by a factor of 10. Yes, 10x. 160MB rather than 1.6GB. This will grow with the new assets for the features that Johnny listed of course, but we're making sure that it doesn't come at the cost of space, loading times and overall performance (for you nerds out there, we've massively optimized VRAM usage)
=> we're bringing back webgl with some neat unannounced feature ideas and the possibility to play on Apple devices!
=> the team is growing, with a new game designer joining us soon!

we're limited by App Store policies unfortunately, and we can't loosely release an iOS executable like we do for Android, but at the same time, building for webgl and having it work great on mobile is a challenge in itself. I've been personally doing a lot of tests last week to make sure that even old iphones and ipads can run the webgl version, with the vision being that webgl has 100% of the heavy clients feature set!

just teasing, but webgl isn't only for iOS devices, we have some mighty ideas like permalinks to share your plot to your friends or clan members 😌

Acquiring all of the plots to make a mega city during the land sale was difficult. Especially for a 3x3 mega city. It meant 4 days of waiting for the right plots to be auctioned and often the bidder would have to pay way over the floor price to get critical plots to complete the city.

When the next land sale happens there will be opportunities to buy megacities. It’s anyone’s guess when that will be and how expensive they will be. You can try to piece together plots of land to form a mega city if you are patient I guess but I would imagine it would be very hard. It was a large risk for land owners to purchase megacities during the first sale as we don’t know when this will be a feature in the game and how profitable it will be. Some megacity owners may develop their cities and sell them fully functional for a large premium and look to buy a new one next land sale
Thank you again for resolving my doubts, we will take a t3 tier land almost for sure and start from there, we are no planning to sell it in a long time and go beyond t3 is not a good idea for us right now, but mega cities are a neat concept!
I’m lucky enough to have 1/2 share in a 3x3. I know how hard it was to acquire. I’m excited to see how it evolves but I think it will likely be a fairly long wait until megacities cover our initial investment and start making profit.

there are more things to take in account, apart of balanced element and fuel sites, for land purchase?
The region that you purchase in will also determine type of illuvials that you will be able to scan for blue prints.
If you plan on scanning a lot then locations of resource nodes matters quite a bit.

Scanners require empty space around it to gain higher efficiency, so if your resources are too spread out you'll have less open space to work with.
That said, depending on how much resources you have access to, it might be mathematically more efficient just packing a lot of scanners together and ignoring the efficiency factor entierly.
It ranges between 50-100%, cost staying the same regardless of efficiency. So if you can afford say 3 scanners at 50%, you might do better than 1 at 100%.

Hi, once all 5 Illuvials are found, can the scanners be sold to make room for Material labs to search for the facts and blueprints?
I believe by the time Beta is released there will be a lot more iluvials you can get facts and blue prints for. In addition I believe all the tiers will be available but you will need upgrades to find the higher tiers. The odds of finding a particular alluvial will also depend on where your land is located and the affinity of the alluvial.
I plan to have some material labs as soon as i find my first alluvial. I will probably start with more scanners than material labs and then switch to more material labs as I get closer to having all 5.

Did you ask for an airdrop? You cannot upgrade the Nexus if you are waiting for an airdrop.

It's in price. 2 mounths ago I sell a megacitie for 14000$. The production of the mines and resources of Tier 1 and 2 is equal to that of a Tier 3 or 4. It is like an extension of the land tier 3 or 4 to the lands tier 1 or 2. The additional production that is achieved is less that the overprice, but it costs a lot to join 4 lands, there will be no new placements of lands in the medium term, therefore the price is justified.

In my experience there's never enough resources, but I scan and research a lot and that burns through stockpiles crazy fast (until you find everything, but in the live version later there will be a lot more to find so you'll most likely never run out of things to science for).
However, if you're focused on producing fuel, you will eventually have nothing to spend resources on, so you'll most likely end up not even mining for them...
As for the marketplace, you can trade way more than 300k per day. You can have at least 15 simultaneous trades going.
Also, if on the same level you only need 2 converters to burn the production of one mine.
It might be different for higher tier lands as they produce more resources due to the bonus and I only have experience with T1s.
We don't know for sure. Chances are you'll be able to find them again as there will be a wipe of all data in between seasons, unless they make the data about what blueprints were minted on which land persist, in which case it'll be locked to only being able to find a print once per land/wallet combination.

Yeah, I'm currently working on a reference list on what to build in what order to progress as quickly as possible after a reset, and it looks like it would be very different even going from just a T1 to a T2.

I like that idea, though there is a limit to how long you can make a post, so I'll probably have to figure out the format for a tutorial to be put into a thread like that... Maybe compress most of the text into an image instead of actual text...

You can't move lands. You'd have to buy plots that are next to your other plots if that's something you want to have.
A feature coming in the future, where you can link adjacent plots in a 2x2 or 3x3 area to form a bigger plot that shares some building bonuses across all of them.

That would be great! I have been trying but I dont have enough time. I want to try and get this down after the next reset so I am ready for Beta! I have 1 T1, 1 T2 and a T3 if you need help adapting to the other tiers. I would guess the order would be different depending on your goals for the plot (Blueprints, Fuel or both) After the reset all about blueprints of course.
Yeah, priorities are a bit different depending on if you want blueprints or fuel, and I imagine it'll be even more different on higher tiers.
I toying with the idea of both blueprints and fuel on my T3. I was getting pretty good fuel production with 3 100% scanners. Not sure what I was giving up in fuel though.
Yeah, T3 should have a pretty decent option for that. Finding that balance is tricky though...
It is and it would be great to get a group of testers to try some different configs then compare results in the next round. That would make it easier to decide what to do when reset for Beta happens.

Not really. The only changes are the Marketplace having a different cost and 2 levels, and the minimum efficiency being 50% instead of 25%.
Efficiency calculations should still be the same for numbers above 50%, just consider anything saying 25%-49% to be 50%.
Next week should be v0.1.6 and the week after Season 1

Like i find it bad that tooltip isn't updating dynamically with the % efficiency/time, can't get a real view of the improvement, only when starting a thing and clicking on the work icon but then we can't see for the passive ones
The time it takes for passive generation can't be influenced by anything (except level upgrades for fuel converters, but that's pretty clearly written when upgrading at least), so you only need to think about efficiency for that part.
But the amount is and info window is not reflecting this

Yes, the info window only shows the building's base stats. (It would be nice if it also showed the actual current numbers in red/green depending on your current efficiency)

I believe the fastest you can get a blueprint (assuming you get lucky with both the scan and the research) is 5 days for T1, 4 days for T2 and 3 days for T3 and T4 (depending on land layout of course). So 7 days sounds pretty good.
Anyone else noticed randomness in the tick for passive resources into convertor, it says 3mins x number but for some reason, every 2 ticks, it takes longer, it did for me 05:35 08:35 and then 13:17 for some reason, repeated again on another try 13:17 16:17 and then 20:20.
Do you know what cause this ? Or known bug ?

I think being able to clear plants as they come along and help speed up whatever you are building would be much better than watching them grow endlessly. I can understand putting even a 5 or 10 minute timer per plant if there are no builders, but watching plants grow endlessly while we wait 18 hours for our upgrade to finish is kind lame.
What about a microtransaction to buy a 'Gardener' that automatically harvests fully grown plants.

Yes. But you need to hit a 5% success on both the Scanner and Lab, so it's pretty unlikely. And it requires some insane optimization when it comes to building, and also very specific fuel nodes on the land.
Well, the first Biodata might have a higher success rate, and you can boost Lab efficiency.

How can you event harvest enough resources to build a scanner if you start from scratch?
You'd have to play a lot and get mines/converters and power stations down quickly. Then you can "easily" make 1-2m resources in a day.
Higher tiers also get the land bonus for +33%/+100%/+300% resources and fuel.

Still a bit undecided on that.
You can make a decent amount of fuel on a T1, but you just get way more for the same amount of effort on higher tiers.
Blueprints seem like it would be easier to get on T1s, but at the same time you get more resources on higher tiers, so you can unlock higher levels of scanners and labs faster and afford to scan on 2-3x as many 50% scanners as a T1 can afford 100% scanners.
So depending on how much the scan efficiency matters and the profitability of blueprints it might be a yes or a no...
Of course you may also want to account for the other Tiers as they have a higher Fuel production bonus, you may not want to use those lands for blueprints, then T1s will by default be the best to use for that.
So I'm leaning towards T1s being better for blueprints, but we'll see further ahead I suppose.

seems odd we bought land to earn, and now we have to pay for extra builders to use it optimally. meanwhile illuvitars get paid for being on a leaderboard and was not ment to earn, and they get compensated for the delay

Well I'm only sharing what I know. As you say, I agree that Land has seen a lot of ups and downs in value with the land sale and announced release dates. people bought lands in the hopes of catching an event or announcement. I just think that giving leaderboard rewards is more doable. Leaderboard rewards were clearly announced and missed. Easy things such as these are more likely to be distributed at a later date than stuff like "oh we couldn't deliver a game at that time". It is difficult to give a reasonable value to that.
I have no clearly defined opinion on how one equates to the other. I understand the frustration and that it is somewhat similar to one another. But for land I think it's just bad luck. Should've sold the news for land instead 😅
