When encountering multiple Illuvials at once and beating the encounter there is a chance to capture multiple of them or even all yes. It becomes harder and harder per Illuvial though, does require a shard for each and might include other specifics not yet disclosed 🙂

Others or in between. It’s a cool looking system. Also… that is a heck ton of shards this player is holding. One day it’ll be me.

This could be an error. Or it could just be getting at the fact that as more of a specific illuvial are captured then that specific illuvial will be harder to capture. So something like this could happen.

I think that would be bad for game economies. Axies recently shifting most of the rewards towards pvp and I think that was a correct move. While I think low risk consistent rewards will entice more people to jump onboard, we probably have to set it at minimum.

I agree with your read on Axie. Unless they're able to transition away from most people grinding and extracting value from the system (cashing out their SLPs) their economy is going to collapse. Illuvium is structurally different. Every loop costs, so players simply can't plunk down an initial investment and then earn indefinitely off of that with sweat equity. You need to add capital into the system to earn (this includes land ownership). This prevents the player base from being majority grinders who are just looking to cash out their sweat equity.

Totally agree. If you're able to afford it, the best move is to save every illuvial you capture. Right up from there will be an explosion of listings, and over time they will become more and more scarce as people acquire them/fuse them/the next generation comes out.

Here are my thoughts…

so there’s the first way to travel. The free way tier 0 only. Then there are the three paid ways. I’m inclined to think the three different types of fuel will be usable in different ways (maybe to power the train) to affect travel. They would not be terribly different in the long run but would be some sort of in game mechanic being powered by a different kind of fuel.

there’s also the chance that there are higher tiers of travel with variable levels of energy efficiency. Or maybe the fuel helps facilitate that in the economy anyways.

So y’all have figured out that the tier zeros will come in different affinities right? Doka is the fighter class that will come in at least the five basic affinities. The Fliish shown in the recent video and will be the promonft is the psion t0 that will be purple and apparently that means earth affinity (purple shards). But there will be different colored ones with other affinities and slightly different skins. It’s great idea IMO

you can travel to a region for free making everything T0 just for fun and tutorial but if you find the obelisk and fuel it the environment shifts, like terraforming or time traveling, making everything change from pretty uncommon to very deadly environment/illuvials.

One thing that’s interesting is that I believe even tier 0s can be fused and advanced to stage 2 &3. While it’s not the same as what happens when this is done for t1-5, fixed t0s will get stronger. With enough strongly pumped t0s they’ll be able to do some work to help t1s take down t2 (or higher). How the power differs from tier to tier is gonna be interesting that’s for sure.

Yes, you need Tier 0 shards to capture Tier 0 Illuvials. Curing those Tier 0 shards will be free of cost just like travelling to a region at Tier 0 level 🙂

More or less yes. You could travel to T1+ right away, but you wouldn't be able to win any encounters. MAYBE (this is me speculating) a case could be made for travelling to T1+ right away, using energy for scanning to make sure you mainly go for shards/resources and avoid any encounters and then farm those to sell early on the market. But I know too little about the other mechanics to speculate if that would be possible or not 🙂

You definitively need some levelled T0 Illuvials if you want to have a chance of winning against T1+ though, yeah 🙂

That energy can be used for a variety of actions including scanning, gathering, battle etc. In theory you can even capture more than one Illuvial per travel but using your energy wisely and thus optimizing your spoils per travel will make a huge difference between good and less good players.

I would say if you are good in logic thinking probably the best way would be to scan at least a little in other hand if someone doesn't like to think a lot best strategy would be to just go without scanning and capture as many as possible

In the main game if someone scans the illuvians and puts it online though, scanning seems like a waste to me because you would be able to identify them by yourself. Capturing early on would be worth more. But indeed if you start off and you have no ideas then scanning T1s so you dont get your ass kicked is better :)

But since there are 4 ways of transport, i think the first is free to play and gives you no opportunity to encounter T1s, else F2P would be able to also catch those.

Boss is a bit on the nose And loses the carabao flavor. Bauss is a better stage 2 name and Baws is not bad but doesn’t pronounce as naturally for me. There’s a lot to work with when you’ve got an inspiration like Bubalus bubalis carabanesis.
