I have a question related to the capturing of Illuvials. Paying a fee and adventuring in Overworld is likened to buying a pack of cards from Pokémon. So when we decide to go to an encounter do we have to completely win the encounter to capture an Illuvial inside? What happens if we don’t beat any illivial in the encounter? Will that mean that we don’t have an opportunity to capture anything? What if we beat some Illuvials but don’t beat the encounter? If we lose out in the encounter will we still gain something or is it an all or nothing event? Thanks for any answers.

you have to win the encounter. However, part of the fees will be buying shards, which are the pokeballs, and you wont lose the shard if you lose the battle. So that's part of the fee that is saved
