With the new sets of Illuvials and old ones ending. What is everyone's thoughts on a length on how long it should be?

I know that I want to be one of few that has the iconic Illuvial that no one new can get but at some point that short time frame will start to effect the adoption.
With Pokémon it was 5 years before the second generation which I think grew the love for Charizard, Blastoise and Pikachu which I want to see with Atlas, Ramfire and all the great Illuvials that has been created.
Also by the 9th gen you see stupid and unimaginative Pokémon like tea cups, candles and rubbish (Garbodor was literal trash). Does anyone see this to be the case with Illuvium if they start to pump new ones out too quick?

Sounds like an old tower defense game I used to play on Warcraft 3 called line tower wars. There was like 6 players and each player made their own tower setup but they also picked the units that would be running against the opponent. There was a bit of economy aspect to it where you spent the same currency on both your own towers and the attacking units so there was an element of strategy to it. Could have some interesting mechanics that might translate well.

Yeah it was a good one. Very popular at the time. It would be even cooler with Illuvium since there would be synergies to consider rather than sending 1000 sheep to run the maze.

Generally, the idea is to give players choices. There should be things that can't be undone in a run, making it more challenging. It allows the options to branch out. Additionally, we plan on giving interest to the player so that you can save points early and earn more later, but it's risky, and the other player can clear a wave better than you.

There are still things to test. For PB1 it's mainly about core systems. PB2 is about more core systems with some changes to the game modes and far more Illuvials.

That’s great to hear, the interest mechanic was one thing that I loved when playing Dota Underlords. I don’t feel like it would fit as well in ranked pvp but in a survival mode it sounds ideal.
Is the survival pvp gonna just be 1v1 or can it have more players? I know a lot of people like the multiplayer format an this sounds like a good opportunity to integrate it.

Makes sense. The thing I thought would be cool from more than 2 players is that you could face a variety of enemy teams in one match rather than the ‘counter a specific opponent’ vibe that ranked will have. Potentially it could still work if the selection of attackers starts with a base 1 or 2 illuvials determined by the game and then select one or two additional attackers to fill out the team. The thing I liked about the survival mode was how the opponent was highly varied each round so you had to focus on building your own team more than countering.

I get that you are all frustrated. I really do, I have made it very clear if you are in this for the short term stuff like a land flip then it would be very frustrating (I know because I am that exact type of investor) and I have rage quit from projects before they launch because they end up delaying things. Now we might miss dates, but we are pretty damn transparent when it comes to updates on where we are at - the problem is things do change, and things are out of our control (like a hack) and then all of the additional security required after to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Either way, they are all excuses, and I don't want the team to be reading these messages getting down. The reality is that I am the one who puts dates on things (and yes I factor in all the available info at the time) but I've still been very off. So I take responsibility for that but please don't assume it's the team because they are honestly going beast mode, across every single vertical.

The beta is deployed, we are doing the last tests to ensure everything is good and that will be sent out this week. When you start seeing the content from other people (non core contributors) it should put your mind at ease if you are a long term investor. Regardless of the date we set - what we have built in the timeframe, is pretty crazy and it should make anyone who views it see what our team is capable of.

Thanks for the words. My issue is the lack of Project Management. Schedule is completely flawed, it's nowhere good to delay a 1 year project for almost 6 months till now. As you explained, I see it lacks on Risk Management. Of course, any online software may be hacked and it delays the project, but hacking also has a resonable chance to happen and RM should have handled it.

When defining a schedule is too tough, I consider the solution is to drop the schedule and start preseting the scope progress. Make a public proper schedule in a kanban, WBS ou gantt chart and keep it updated on how the work is progressing. If we know what's exactly being doing, what's planned next, what's creating issues, we'll be at ease.

If the issue is integrating the game to blockchain, then release a limited time public beta with no integration. This way we can see by ourselves how the game is.

Yes, I know how hard it is to develop a complex system - like a multiplayer game - over a blockchain. Devs are learning, there's no learning material, no professors. And of course it requires more than common tests and quality reviews.

What I said is that all these things, including proper time bubbles handled by Risk Management, should have been added to the schedule when the project started. Not having them planned shows that the plan was lacking. We were lucky we were hacked before going live and on sILV.

I am somehow overhelmed by all these options. You can buy Land to earn revenue, you can stake in various pools, and to do all that you need to lock tokens and aswell buy them at the market where prizes are fluctuating a lot.

If you're thinking about maximizing profit in the long-term yeah, but honestly I think that if the product can be consistently successful (consistent high revenue growth) 2-5y from now, whichever path you go with will still be a good investment.

You don't need to do any of that to play the main game. You need land if you want to earn from Illuvium: Zero.

Buying and staking ILV is optional, think of it as a separate investment in the game. It doesn't impact gameplay.

If you're investing, you should definitely do some research first, but if you just want to play and earn, all you need is some ETH or sILV2. You can also just try the game out for free.

You can start playing for free. We don't have official info on pricing yet, but you will pay for travel cycles and shards to encounter and capture Illuvials.
