The basic idea is that even if you have a small ILV stack, you have disproportionately more voting power per ILV you own.

With only 1 ILV, you're getting 1 vote. With 10 ILV, you're getting 3.16 vILV etc. There are diminishing returns on very large ILV stacks.

There'd be a cost to doing this. The ILV would have to be unlocked, so you wouldn't have access to revdis during the voting period (and would need to add some buffer to account for not knowing the specific time of the snapshot). You'd also (based on current epic lengths) not be able to lock for a year to get the 2x token weighting.

We have an eDAO. If someone were manipulating the elections in that manner, it would mean spending tons of gas to distribute that ILV out to however many wallets. Those txns are on the blockchain, so if some rando just showed up and was pulling in 5k votes, it would be easy to look into it. Another election could always be called if necessary. This kind of thing would also mean that the attacker likely isn't staking their tokens, because having 1 ILV in each of 5K wallets make it prohibitively expensive to do so. That doesn't stop the attack, but it does hurt the attacker's bottom line. As a side note, I think ILV values below 1 default to their actual value instead of their sqrt when doing vILV calcs. I could be wrong on that though...

Yeah it's a fair point, and definitely something to consider. I mean, if we're ever looking at actual votes for people (I do this sometimes) and someone just has an immense chunk of their vILV from small, identically sized votes, that would be a big red flag. I haven't seen that happen yet though.

You can start playing with free illuvials (T0), then you only need $10-$20 to get your first T1 illuvials

It is highly unlikely you will make lots of profit by trading illuvial for the first 6months, because old holders have silv2 (that is the ingame currency currently traded at $200). sILV2 is officialy valued at ILV price, you can use sILV2 to travel and cure shards (pokeball)

if you are not interested in the p2e from the pvp, i suggests staking or land sale

p2e from pve, that is farming for fuel or the ingredients to make fuel, is neither confirmed or denied by the dev

We need some clarification and not from disperse video’s everywhere on the internet. They always prone transparency and they always had it, but this timing subject (an important one) is getting very blurry…. And i get that landsale/illuvatar are depending on v2. But i believe the game release timing on itself isnt linked to staking. (Silv2 is needed for in game currency but since V2 should be around the corner..)

Setting dates is obviously a tricky thing to do given it's a game that's being built from scratch. However I do feel it would be best if only one of the founders spoke on such things. It seems as though Grant has a different date in his mind to kieran. This is causing confusion in the community.
