TFT is an autobattler, but honestly /everything/ is different. You fight 1 person instead of 8. No random carousel. almost infinite character positioning. "hyper" mechanic. Double synergy proc-ing single synergies. Main character participating in fight. Items in your deck. Illuvials in your deck instead of random. "betting" mechanic to get item.

Well, so does many games. We have yet to see if the game balance feels satisfying. That's a major component of the success of this game. If the Ranked game is fun, it will drive everything. minor mistakes everywhere else will have time to be changed

There are many things that need a careful balance for this game to be fun. If the Hyper mechanic is too strong, having the right illuvial will feel useless. If it is too weak, the difference in strenght of illuvials might be too apparent. We have to be able to feel like our choices are very important without being overwhelmed by its complexity. We also need a good amount of Illuvial variety without investing hundreds, otherwise this will drive people away

If the gameplay of the autobattler isnt good enough, Illuvial will fall intoo the category of other NFT games that are JUST for collection and resell

That being said, I believe in the team and seeing what they are doing, I think they will achieve something great

For me the problem that many games have is that there are core characters that everyone plays because they are OP, this causes and imbalance resulting in useless/weak characters and beginner players have a hard time competing. Assuming the devs are doing it right, all Illuvials should be fairly competitive and very enjoyable.

Hyper is a mechanic that will fight against illuvials unfair balance. If you outplay with hyper, a stronger illuvial becomes useless. That being said, they are still trying to balance out the characters

My original proposal to the data analysis expert @brazen bobcat was to use a cyclic approach. Adjust for balance with crappy agents. Then use the balanced game to train great agents. Then use great agents to balance. Ad infinitum.

The agent training phase would include positioning. The balance phase wouldn’t not in a direct sense. It would just let the boys play how they want (and position how they want).

So no, stage 3 are not always a better choice when compared to Stage 2.

Tiers and stage are only a way of describing "rarity" and "evolution" basically. The balancing algorithm will look at all illuvials and figure out their stats, but they will also balance they "energy" cost to put on the battlefield. We do not have these numbers yet.

This is just an hypothesis here, but I think we want to feel like it matters that we are fighting a human. I've played multiple board game with no interaction between players, and I always think "why did I even play that multiplayer, I basically just tried to make more points in my corner of the table".

With interaction, It gives a more fullfilling experience in the sense that you feel a connection with someone else. There is something added in the fact that you understood your opponent, not just the numbers of what you place on your board

In theory I assume 7 million max staked at any given time. Based on the premise of an average gameplay loop regardless of cost. If players = 7 million then 1 token to use rewards. 1 million players and you need 7 tokens and so on. This is based on the average players spend tho. If u plan on spending more than most. Axie Infinity is a huge part of life in certain countries, with some families using as a full time income, so it is an important game. Illuvium may become the next Axie but I think it is just going to be a major competitor if Axie plays their cards right, and does not slow down, also they need to improve graphics and play
