1. I thought i have been in crypto long enough to not fall for scams. I was wrong. 2. Like those who got scammed I too clicked on the link because i felt greedy i think. 3. Luckily i did not have enough funds to mint or confirm the transaction. 4. I still am not sure if my account is safe, since i do not remember whether i had to connect my wallet, or just clicked the mint button. 5. Steps taken: Looked on etherscan no outgoing/pending transactions. I disconnected from the website. I revoke everything I could on etherscan. I am continually monitoring my wallet to see if anything will be pending. 6. The nauseating feeling that comes with an experience such as this... that everything you had and planned on having can be taken away in an instant.. Is indescribable. All of those calling the people idiots for falling for this.. Your time might come. I thought the same. I feel great empathy to those whose account have already been drained, adn for those anxiously awaiting any news from the team, and for those such as myself that are keeping all their attention on their wallets. For those who minted the scam NFT: Once a transaction is confirmed you cannot reverse it. So the funds sent are gone. I have seen some people who minted, but didn't get their alt tokens taken. It's possible the contract only targeted certain alt tokens. There were 9 different alt tokens taken. Looking over some of the accounts, it is possible that it only gave you an approve transaction if you had one of the targeted tokens. You can see in your transaction history on Etherscan if you signed an approval to take your tokens. Under "Method" area you will see the label "approve" that went through about 2 and a half hours ago. Looking at that transaction you will see what tokens you approved for them to take. Anyone who has revoked access will see another approve transaction after that showing the same token access being revoked.

I think the best answer that I can give you is what I would do if I lost something to this.

Even though I see how it happened and know how to revoke access correctly... I would still move my valuables to another address to be safe. I am a very cautious person. Even with me being confident of what happened, I don't know everything, so I wouldn't risk it.

The contract is not visible so hard to tell without looking at the code. If your using just MM without a hardware wallet I'd move MM because however unlikely your private key 'could' have been compromised as it's online. 'unlikely' but this is why a hardware wallet is your best ally. Given that this was one of the most sophisticated hacks I've seen in ages I would change to a different MM with a new private key these guys were pro's.

This is something we are doing all the time. A lot of people don't realise that we get attacked in a number of ways. We can't always go into our security protocols because it gives info to scammers. Education is the best tool. But even that sometimes fails.

Some of the projects have managed to track the scammer and Dox them to force the return of the scammed tokens.

You can search foe Discord Webhook Attacks to find many examples.

Hopefully that will help people be more aware of the variations of this type of scam for the future, and on other Channels also.

There are several aspects of the scam that made it quite successful. First, it seemed to have been posted on an official discord channel with a seemingly official Illuvium bot - this is an illuvium side fault. Second, they made the reward limited to 500, reducing player's time to think about it because they may lose out on the limited edition reward - this is a player side fault. While it's understandable to HOPE for some compensation from the Illuvium team, please don't demand it and just trust that the Illuvium team will decide on an appropriate solution.

That said, it's interesting that other people unaffected by this are actively against compensation to the scammed players. If the team does it, it's not like it would be taken from you lols.

No. Anytime you use the Ethereum mainnet, you pay gas.

You connect your wallet to IMX marketplace and do a deposit request into IMX for your ETH. It will then require you to approve and sign multiple requests in MM.
