When holding ILV, staking is a way to gain additional rewards from yield farming and revenue distribution. The process for staking is the following:

• You acquire either some ILV or some Sushi LP tokens
• You go to: https://staking.illuvium.io/staking/core
• You enter the right pool according to the tokens you acquired
• You decide whether to lock your deposit or not (if locked, you will receive more rewards from yield farming and revenue distribution, but you cannot withdraw your deposit until the chosen locking period is over)
• After approving the contract (if this is your first interaction with it) you confirm the staking of the desired tokens

Providing liquidity for ILV is done via an ILV/ETH Pool on SushiSwap and requires a few different steps compared to staking only ILV. These steps are the following:

Personally I think the TCG application of NFTs is kind of funny. TCGs were one of the only type of game that didn't have an issue with asset ownership. Like if you have the physical card you own it.
There is always the mainstream digital cardgames like hearthstone but in reality they have a tiny share of the TCG market.

I think the use case Illuvium has presented is actually one of the most compelling systems of gaming asset management of any of the NFT games. Star Atlas has similarly effective fundamentals but their development burden is insane.

Stuff like sandbox is cool but it doesnt really seem to be much more than Roblox in a crypto format. Im not sure they solve that many problems that exist in similar existing games.

Depends what game we're talking about. Tier 1 land has less resources and fuel sites. Tier 5 land has more resources, fuel sites, and an arena can be built on it. There are only 7 T5 land plots total.

For Illuvials, T1 will be the first paid tier of Illuvials you're likely to encounter. T5 Illuvials will be rarer and more likely to be encountered in higher tier travel cycles.

RE: Balance: Illuvials abilities don't need to be hard coded into the NFT assets. The NFT can be a reflection of what Illuvial you have, and what baseline stats it has. Balance can be done in the way that NFT asset interacts with the game client.

In game, it can be used to pay for any fee (excluding IlluviDEX trades and Leviathan Arena wagers) that otherwise would be paid for with the main currency ETH. The value of sILV in the game - and for possible sales where sILV is allowed - will be equal to the value of ILV.

While claimed staking rewards in the form of ILV are locked for 12 months, sILV offers the opportunity to liquidate your staking rewards immediately. The tradeoff for that is that sILV only can be used in-game and does not provide compounding in any form.

Heh, after claiming rewards, unstaking, giving approvals in Sushswap and withdrawing the SLP I got about 150$ worth of tokens after reducing gas fees that were about 500$ worth. Should have researched some more before doing this :] Well thankfully those rewards are pending there that I gained.

I think the most you lose with impermanent loss is around 25% unless your investment increases by like 20-50x in which case, who cares…. I’m not too concerned with it in the SLP pool, but maybe I’m missing something.

There are more fees and you need ILV and also an equal amount of ETH

And assume that 25-50% of what you put in may eventually be lossed in impermanent loss. But the rewards in ILV were 470% per year yesterday vs something like 40% per year with staking ILV. Check all the numbers, I’m not sure on some of them but that’s the rough idea

When holding ILV, staking is a way to gain additional rewards from yield farming and revenue distribution. The process for staking is the following:

• You acquire either some ILV or some Sushi LP tokens
• You go to: https://staking.illuvium.io/staking/core
• You enter the right pool according to the tokens you acquired
• You decide whether to lock your deposit or not (if locked, you will receive more rewards from yield farming and revenue distribution, but you cannot withdraw your deposit until the chosen locking period is over)
• After approving the contract (if this is your first interaction with it) you confirm the staking of the desired tokens
