Illuvium: Zero is a mobile mini-game that will interact with the main game. Illuvium: Zero will be a base building game which will be staged on a piece of land. Paid land will produce Fuel ERC20 tokens and Blueprints which can interact with the main game. There will be 100k plots of paid land in total, and the first land sale will offer 20k of these plots for sale in a dutch auction format. I'd be more concerned if any other polished crypto games were releasing before us - All the big guys in mainstream gaming are going to tack crypto onto their games, not design around crypto. I think they might get some traction just through brand recognition, but ultimately their games will end up playing exactly like they do now, and asset ownership won't actually mean anything when they control the marketplace and supply etc.

To elaborate - I think mainstream will do something like this with their first foray into blockchain: They will have NFT assets which they sell and profit from, they will also charge trading fees on assets sold on their marketplace, and the currency on their marketplace will only be usable in-game. That's kind of the model I think mainstream is most likely to take.

At least, that's my prediction on it.

Closed beta testing will begin before the end of 2021. Illuvium will have 2 closed beta testing stages. The first stage will be for team members and professional game testers, and will not be open to the public. The second stage will have limited slots for public members. When the second stage is taking applications, a message will be posted in 📣│announcements detailing the application process. Check 🤖beta-tester-request for more information.

Blockchain gaming is still a growing market. Illuvium doesn't need to steal revenue from other games (though I think it probably will just by being amazing) to succeed. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with a large share of the market though.

SA is spooky to me just because of the scope they describe. If it works out, it could be amazing - I'm probably just wigged out because of certain other space exploration games that promised a lot and delivered less than they said they could.

Regardless, I think they'll be live substantially down the road from when Illuvium launches.

Closed beta will likely not include the overworld experience. From what Aaron was saying in discord voice, it'll be more centred on the battle board encounters.

This will take some time to develop. If you listened to Zyonik's interview with Grant, there is a reason they are focussing more on the auto battler component as the base. Particularly in relation to building out the IP assets.
