The other problem is that it MASSIVELY favors early adopters who will own all the most rare illuvials. If whales can buy up and rent out the most valuable assets, normal players will never have an opportunity to own them and will always be forced to pay somebody else for the privilege of playing the game.

Agree, I think for sustained success we should focus on delivering an engaging and sustainable experience in the F2P aspect, rather than renting Illuvials.
But I also agree with Aaron/team that if scholarships do become a thing, it should be internal to the game rather than dodgy 3rd parties.

I think you're missing the point though of how many people wont' want to play a ton of PvE to get to the ranked arenas.

Which is what renting can help with. I don't see any reason why Illuvium itself should need to do that though, it'll be more like a thing between friends and guilds and such probably. If I had to guess. All I know is, from what I understand it will take weeks to get to T5 stuff...and you will absolutely NEED t5 stuff for high PvP ranked matches, there's no way you're getting around that. So for people that can't afford 5k for a baby T5 (random number), what do you suggest they do? Just not ever be competitive at a high level?

We're all pretty much against it being necessary to play the game because then it's the same problem Axie has. This is different though because you can f2p and experience the game just fine because of that. Buying expensive stuff will be a choice, rather than a necessity to get in the game.

I think thats a wild overestimation of the price of a T5. It will probably cost no more that twice the cost of travel and a shard. I think its much better to allow the game to be affordably priced without requiring everyone to go through an nft investor as a middle man.

I think most 'high level' gamers buy the game they play if it costs money. Its not a crazy concept.

Yeah, as an example - for genshin impact: ppl spend money to obtain primo gems at a much higher rate than they would grinding f2p in order to spend the primo gems for the chance to get the strong characters. It's pretty much similar to the concept of "exp boosters" in f2p games. People are willing to shell out money to save themselves time grinding.

Although, in retrospect simply buying strong illuvials off the illuvidex already solves this. So this might be a weak argument for rentals 😅

Yeah your point is mine basically I totally agree. But we either come up with 2 scenarios, one being top tier stuff is completely unaffordable for 3rd world countries OR there is some system where it's actually possible to build up to that through a bunch of small purchases and with time. But the issue here is this, if it takes say...100 runs to find a T5 you're looking for...and each run is 50$...then logic would dictate that particular T5 would at LEAST go for a few grand. Many people just simply won't be able to afford that. However, if the economy is perfectly balanced to where people can put money in the system, and slowly build up to be able to run constantly for high tier stuff, while selling stuff they don't want to continue paying for runs...I do think it'll be okay.

Either way, I'll be putting a lot of time into the game. It's completely possible that a large % of players take awhile to find T5s and the top of the leaderboards are just high skilled players with high cost teams. (Which does make sense considering there is going to be PvP payouts for the top players I'm assuming)

Those whod want to get higher Tier illuvials right away are those who can afford to buy them outright. Those who cant will most often than not grind their way like most of us will. The entry barrier for P2E is low so that players from developing countries can test it out. One run worth 50usd may net them way more than that cause of the type of illuvial they caught. It can fuel their next two cycles and so forth and so on.

Upon use, these NFT's will be burnt when applied in game. This is only true for these emotes, skins, and badges as they were bonuses for the initial ILV token sale.

And there has been a constant increase in the total ILV/ETH SLP tokens (95K now!) ever since staking began, which indicates a steady reduction in the supply of ILV. I think a $5K token price by march is modest. Especially is ETH goes on a run up to 7K+. not financial advice.

• You acquire either some ILV or some Sushi LP tokens
• You go to: https://staking.illuvium.io/staking/core

• You decide whether to lock your deposit or not (if locked, you will receive more rewards from yield farming and revenue distribution, but you cannot withdraw your deposit until the chosen locking period is over)

There are badges which are in game avatars, also - in game emotes and skins, provide no advantage all cosmetic but are very limited and are burnt when used in game and cannot be resold. I am Holding a badge because I feel like the returns will be big when ILV goes mainstream and esport pros/millionaire collectors will want the rarest and most limited items to flex. Also NFTs have generally been disconnected to crypto market flunctuations so it is a way of gaining exposure to the success of Illuvium while reducing risk on crypto flunctions (bear market) bringing down the coin

Rewards from staking have to be manually claimed and GAS fees for those transactions have to be paid:

• When you stake ILV yield farming rewards start piling up for you
• You claim those rewards whenever you deem the pile to be big enough to justify gas fees
• If you claim sILV you have it unlocked right away (sILV is only usable in game as a substitute currency for ETH outside the marketplace and the Leviathan Arena)
• If you claim ILV then that batch of ILV gets locked for 12 months and automatically staked in the ILV pool with a token weight of 2.0 for compounding effect
• New rewards start piling up....rinse and repeat

NB: ILV paid out as part of Illuvium’s Revenue Distribution have to be claimed as well but are not subject to a locking period.

Token Weight 2.0 is already included in the APY shown. Core Pool has 62% APY right now. That's what you get when locking for 12 months. If you stake 10 ILV at 62% APY (locking them 12 months) it would be the same as 20 ILV at 31% APY (flexibly staked without lock and so 1.0 token weight).

ETH is the main currency. You will pay gas to move from ETH mainnet to IMX but once on IMX the fees should be very small. You can use sILV for most TX but it's not needed

ILV cannot be used in game. ILV is a governance token. You can stake ILV to earn sILV but if you don't want to stake then ETH is your best bet
