i read a bit the governance chat, and it seems the council cares a lot about its remuneration. While it is understandable and debatable with good point on both side, i do think council members should not be anonymous. Several compare themselves to board members, which is understandable, but how can we have board members with such responsability and 0 accountability? (except the only risk of losing their remuneration). I would do a vote for Council members to not be anonymous. Unfortunately considering the fact that the council is the one voting, i guess the proposal would not pass.

A pretty awesome part of being a decentralized organization is the decentralized part, which typically involves anonymity. It's not mandatory to be anonymous as a council member, but I'd be super against making council members identify themselves IRL.

That energy can be used for a variety of actions including scanning, gathering, battle etc. In theory you can even capture more than one Illuvial per travel but using your energy wisely and thus optimizing your spoils per travel will make a huge difference between good and less good players.

There will be ~150 uniquely crafted Illuvials but obviously multiple copies of those will exist. Illuvials at Tier 1+ are on a bonding curve which means that with every copy someone captures of a particular Illuvial it will get harder to capture another copy for everyone until eventually a set is retired and replaced by a new one 🙂

When you defeat an encounter in the Overworld and try to capture an Illuvial, you do so by using a shard. When executing the capture attempt, there is a certain probability for you to succeed. This depends on the quality of the shard and the rarity of the Illuvial. On top of that though, it also depends on the bonding curve. Every time someone captures a copy of a particular Illuvial the probability of successfully capturing another copy goes down slightly.

So the first time someone captures a Ramphyre for example will be the easiest. The second copy is already a tiny bit harder (=lower percentage chance for success).

• If you claim sILV you have it unlocked right away (sILV is only usable in game as a substitute currency for ETH outside the marketplace and the Leviathan Arena)
• If you claim ILV then that batch of ILV gets locked for 12 months and automatically staked in the ILV pool with a token weight of 2.0 for compounding effect
• New rewards start piling up....rinse and repeat

NB: ILV paid out as part of Illuvium’s Revenue Distribution have to be claimed as well but are not subject to a locking period.

What do you guys think of council members being the ones voting not to reduce their salary? To me it seems we need another voting mechanism for the comunity. Noone in the council will vote to get less ILV.

Shards are gathered while travelling. They are not purchased from the DAO or anything. They will surely have more value on the IlluviDEX with higher tiers though, yes. Shard curing on the other hand (the fee to pay for making a shard viable to hold Illuvials) is a fee that is paid to the DAO and if I don't remember incorrectly, that goes up with tiers just like travel costs. No details on final prices yet though 🙂
