IZ release was initially planned for this year and I think they would be ready by then, but haven't seen a confirmation myself yet that the team wants to stick with a end of year IZ release after the main-game delay. I think you are misunderstanding something there. Main game on PC/MAC is planned for Q1 2022. Main game on Mobile is planned for later in 2022. Illuvium Zero, which will be on PC/Mobile (and maybe Browser) is planned to release BEFORE the main game, so either the team sticks to Q4 of this year or they push it somewhere closer to the main game launch in Q1 2022 as well 🙂

Things can sometimes be misunderstood, also Kieran is just a human being as well capable of remembering/explaining a particular thing incorrectly in interviews, which, considering the amount of interviews, isn't anything surprising. I'm pretty sure though that IZ is planned to be released before the main game and this does include mobile which was the main planned platform from the beginning. Late 2022 would be something we can hope to see the main game arrive on mobile then 🙂

• wager on battles in the Leviathan Arena
• earn some of the 1 Million ILV set aside for in-game rewards

BUT, while the game will be free to play, in order to participate in the earning part of the economy, a bit of money needs to be invested. A full cycle of travelling, curing shards, etc. is currently estimated to be around $50 (this can still change).

Rewards from staking have to be manually claimed and GAS fees for those transactions have
to be paid:

• When you stake ILV yield farming rewards start piling up for you
• You claim those rewards whenever you deem the pile to be big enough to justify gas fees
• If you claim sILV you have it unlocked right away (sILV is only usable in game as a substitute
  currency for ETH outside the marketplace and the Leviathan Arena)
• If you claim ILV then that batch of ILV gets locked for 12 months and automatically staked in
  the ILV pool with a token weight of 2.0 for compounding effect
• New rewards start piling up....rinse and repeat
  NB: ILV paid out as part of Illuvium’s Revenue Distribution have to be claimed as well but are
  not subject to a locking period

Core Pools are pools that require ILV to be staked and they last the full three years of yield farming. Flash pools are 14 days limited pools that only get 2% of the total yield paid out in that time. These are meant to let other communities stake their "foreign tokens" and thus provides means to attract new people to ILV and/or reward future/prior partnerships 🙂

When your token is unlocked, you can either withdraw and sell/hodle, or you can leave it in the website and get YF rewards (until it ends) and Rev. Withdrawing will revoke your right to receive RevDis, the right to receive YF rewards and loss of weight

The 2nd and 3rd top "holders" are the DAO's staking pools which hold the tokens of all of us who have staked our ILV 🙂

This has been brought up and discussed before, and it isn't possible at this point to swap blockchains because of the amount of infrastructure and the investment into staking etc. already.

It's not evm and concurrency issues make it currently impossible to do. You'd have to remake the code from scratch and then figure out how to make a scaling solution for it work for more than 1 person at a time.

When ETH becomes proof of stake, that will help, but ATM the fees are far from "almost non-existent" because you pay them to stake, to claim rewards, and later to send and withdraw from Immutable X i imagine.
