No gas fees when you're in the game 🙂 Completely free if you're just traveling to Tier 0 regions and capturing Tier 0 Illuvials. You pay a fee to travel to higher tier regions for Tier 1+ Illuvials. But once you travel to a region, all of your actions within the region such as battling Illuvials or mining/harvesting resources only cost "energy" (not actual funds).

When you travel to a region you have a certain amount of energy. That energy can be used for a variety of actions including scanning, gathering, battle etc. In theory you can even capture more than one Illuvial per travel but using your energy wisely and thus optimizing your spoils per travel will make a huge difference between good and less good players.

F2P players will be able to capture Tier 0 Illuvials and proceed to level them up, yeah. Then you'll need those leveled up Tier 0 illuvials if you want to stand a chance in battle against the Tier 1+ Illuvials and capture them.

However, in order to travel to the Tier 1+ region, you'll still need to pay either using ETH or sILV.

No liquidity pool as far as I know so you wouldn't see any sort of "price action" on it.

I'm fine if the game releases in a well functioning but more prologue "story-wise" form and followed the destiny and more specifically genshin impact formula of constantly releasing expansions over time to keep things flowing. It would work well with adding new regions and thusly story elements along with new illuvials as they are made.

Genshin is too slow. It needs to be faster thant that. But I guess as long as the PVP launched in a good ready state I don't really mind PVE content coming out slower.

^ Genshin is definitely too slow. It took Mihoyo almost a full year to release the 2nd region - Inazuma. But I get where you're coming from. It would be nice to have a "game as a service" type roll out of content. And I believe there has already been mentions and talks of releasing more sets of Illuvials. Unsure on if this will come with a story expansion and new region though but that would certainly be awesome

It doesn't have to follow exact timeline but as a general model for release. After all it takes time as we all know to get this stuff figured out and put together in a largely bug free and satisfying manner. Not to mention devs deserve breaks like any decent human too. So a tad bit slow for players but just right for devs would be a good line to strike.

Considering governance it also comes down to token holders giving clear guidance on how we want the game to proceed as well.

It’s an SLP token, it represents a percent of the LP, if the price of say ILV goes up arbitragers will come buy it up at lower prices to sell on other exchanges lowering the amount of ilv in the pool for you to claim. Or it works in reverse of course too. Or for ETH; the only way to not suffer IL is to pull out when the ratio of the two coins is the same again.

If ilv pumps much harder than eth than you will lose ilv tokens. If a lot more stakers come into the slp pool before you can recoup those ilvs you lose in impermanent loss than you can actually end up with less ilv tokens at the end of the year than if you had just bought all ilv with your eth and kept it or put it in the ilv pool.

It's like this. Let's say you stake 1.5 eth and 5 ilv in slp. But ilv moons so you only get 2 ilve back and the slp apy goes down enough over the year that you only get 7 ilvs. Then in total you will only end up with 9 ilvs + the ilv compounding which doesn't seem that much.

As opposed to just putting all the 10 ilvs in the ilv pool and you will get 10 + whatever you get rewarded bc you don't have to deal with impermanent loss if ilv moons.

Providing liquidity for ILV is done via an ILV/ETH Pool on SushiSwap and requires a few different steps compared to staking only ILV. These steps are the following:

• You acquire a 50/50 ratio of both ILV and ETH (in $)

• After approving the contract (if this is your first interaction with it), you stake your 50/50 ratio of ETH and ILV in the pool
• You receive SLP tokens (To see them, add the SLP contract address to your wallet: 0x6a091a3406e0073c3cd6340122143009adac0eda)
• You go to: https://staking.illuvium.io/staking/core
• You can now stake your SLP Tokens in the Sushi LP pool just like ILV is staked in the ILV pool.

In the staking you either decide to go with the single ILV pool or you go with the ILV/ETH the only difference is the amount of tokens that are distributed through the yield farming in which SLP gives you 60% more rewards than the 20% that is given to you in the single pool. When you claim rewards you claim either sILV or ILV, if you claim sILV it's not locked and you can use for in game or the upcoming landsale and most likely more sales in the future where if you claim as ILV it's locked for both pools for up to 12 months.

I think the real question is whether Illuvium can migrate staking etc to arbitrum or optimism rollups. That would reduce gas fees associated with staking by quite a lot, although the rollups are fairly new. I haven't seen any announcement on it but I'm sure the team is aware of it--after all Synthetix has managed the migration, so now it's quite inexpensive to claim SNX staking rewards now.
