ILV staking is just ILV so you get beck just as much ILV when you withdraw it from staking. SLP is ETH and ILV mixed so you won't get back the same ETH you put in or the same ILV you put in.

No1 can know. I think size of these game will have a big dependance on earning capacity. Higher earning capacity leeds to more south east asia ppl coming for an income. As for western audience i personally believe Illuvium has a shot coz its simply much more appealing in a gaming sense. But axie has the head start and momentum. To be fair, the Axie team has been doing a pisspoor job at taking care of the economics and community. Jihoz' latest interview is very much horrid with phrases like "players are replaceable" and "this is an exclusive club", I'd say as long as Illuvium keeps up the momentum and the heads (Kieran, etc) don't get too much in their heads, this has the potential to be the next big thing.
Axie right now is more of a cult than an actual community, something I don't see here (as of now), while this discord being probably the best one I've ever been in.

Basically to earn money in the game, (unless right at the start selling free stuff for others to skip over some grind) you have to enter areas to access the p2e content. So, there will be a travel fee to get into such areas. There is also a "shard curing" fee, to allow the illuvials to be caught by the shards you have. There is also the fee you could have to pay to heal your illuvials quicker if you mess up a lot.

Liquidity Mining:
Here, you will gain more ILV (or sILV). Additional ILV will increase your voting power in governance & increase your share of vault distributions.

Vault Distributions:
When you stake ILV, you share in Illuvium's success and earn a passive income of additional ILV, funded through in-game purchases and fees. Vault distributions will only be available from sales and once the game and Illuvidex are launched.

sILV is a substitute currency that can be gained as yield when staking ILV. In game, it can be used to pay for any fee (excluding IlluviDEX trades and Leviathan Arena wagers) that otherwise would be paid for with the main currency ETH.

While claimed staking rewards in the form of ILV are locked for 12 months, sILV offers the opportunity to liquidate your staking rewards immediately. The tradeoff for that is that sILV only can be used in-game and does not provide compounding in any form.

BUT, while the game will be free to play, in order to participate in the earning part of the economy, a bit of money needs to be invested. A full cycle of travelling, curing shards, etc. is currently estimated to be around $50 (this can still change).
