FYI, this is an early version, which is something that a couple of engineers were working on. They've now swapped to Arena and will go to the MMO. Many of the systems built here transfer to the MMO.

even im one of those people here who gets negative about the current situation of the game now, i still hope that in the future, it will again come back, or even greater as it was, like season 1 and 2.. lots of players, lively market, and no dull moments in discord.

You can’t really say there’s a lack of communication – there’s plenty of information out there. But the problem is, for a new player, it can feel like way too much. They jump in, and they have no idea where to start, what to do first, or how to even get into it.
There are so many options – Arena, Zero, Overworld, and also the Beyond album – but what’s the first step? Existing players already know where everything is and how it works, but for newcomers, it’s just too much, and there’s no clear path to follow.
This isn’t really about “is there enough information?” It’s about how that information is structured and communicated. It exists, sure, but it’s not laid out in a way that makes it easy for a new player to quickly understand what they need to do.
If the goal is to bring in more players, there needs to be a clear starting point – something that guides them step by step on how to get into the game, instead of just dumping a massive pile of information on them and expecting them to figure it out on their own.

Yeah, you’re absolutely right. I recommended the game to a friend, and in the end, I had to become their instructor myself. That made me realize that the game doesn’t really have a clear starting point to show where to begin. If new players already feel overwhelmed at the very start, it’s no surprise that many just give up.

How is this different for other big desktop games?

Not saying we can't make steps to improve onboarding but installing a launcher, account creation for said launcher and then installing the game within said launcher is quite typical in my experience

well there's 2 differences depending on which games u're refering to

1. For anything but something like 10 games they're basically all on steam

2. For league of legends type of games, first of all the game is just big enough already to where people will put up with anything, but 2nd of all you make account once, you then log in once, keep remember user, and basically you're logged in forever

having an own launcher, that looks good would be great, pixelmon recently talked about how they improved the metric of people who found game via ad->look at loading/install screen->actually make an account, via interesting enough looking go create acc/install screen thing

you might not believe it but just the experience of illuvium where u have to click sign in with passport->THEN wait for loading screen while you're redirection to a browser where you have to make clicks->THEN waiting in a loading screen again is a way worse experience

But i think if league launched today they wouldn't get away with not being on steam

There’s still stat rolls on each illuvial from the drone runs. Higher stat illuvials are going to hold their values much better than the lower stat

We implement more illuvial burn systems with the overworld and it’ll help with the dilution

We also have skins requiring illuvials to burn to craft. Higher player base will = more skins crafted.

Obviously a challenge but I think it’s a net positive for arena to have the drone runs

There is plenty of use cases that will or can be introduced in the future. They are still building out the games and use cases. These will all increase desirability if done right, for the illuvials.

There was no indication of any of those other elements being included in the Drone runs. All the stream showed were 8 - 12 cards being found (like a pack of cards would be) and they were all illuvials.

Not sure, but it just seemed to cost fuel from the video.
The difference between a standard overworld run against a drone run (except for time spent) is that in the Overworld you can cherry pick what to catch a lot more. In the drone run, you could get 8 tier 1's with terrible stats. You would never choose that in the overworld run obviously

so it's much lower chances at getting something worth your fuel spent. It's simply for people who want to burn a larger chunk of cash and almost semi-gamble it like yo uwould with packs of cards

Precision + time spent in the overworld will still be a lot easier to get higher stat stuff I would assume

The thing about auto drone runs is that you can’t be precise when capturing for stats etc. it’s 8 random illuvials (based loosely on the region synergies still) that could all possibly have terrible stats.
Arguably, what really gives the illuvials value atm and going forward into esports etc will be the strong stats.
Lower stat illuvials will still hold value to some degree for cosmetic skins (which I think will be more popular following introduction of gauntlet lobbies showing them off) but for the most part, I think people are over-worrying the dilution side of drone runs on the illuvial market

Of course, there will be more, but the value that comes from the illuvials won’t be so diluted, since it takes precision searching in the overworld, or fusing of very specific stats to get a near perfect illuvial

Auto drones are likely to be good for revenue as well. Seems a lot of people are eager to drop a bag on the ease of access - those who lack time are willing to take lower odds of illuvial stats just to partake in the ecosystem/bulk their collections

I am currently not at home on my pc, but I believe if you go to the fuel exchange on the Illuvium site, there should be a ‘sell’ button at the top of the exchange. You then choose your plot to sell from and it’s be placed on the market

Quests are important for any game that has a lore around its universe.
Sure, I played wow mostly for raiding and mythic dungeons, but if there was absolutely no story at all, I’d likely not have played to begin with.
It’s a strong building block to any IP, and there’s also raids and stuff being worked on alongside the MMO lite

Lots of cool shit to look forward to, and the new hires are incredible people for the job!

And, again, no matter what people say, I am not just saying this cos I'm a mod, there really is some cool shit cooking up.

I'm with you on the frustrations of delays and things taking way longer to come about than we expected; I was pissed too. But with 24 months of runway without revenue or raises included, is a super strong place to be in for all this new stuff to start hitting the live servers, which can hopefully propel us forward

Plus, we haven't even started marketing for Esports + Leviathan/Gauntlet yet. That's arguably an exciting milestone too; and we're soon there with how gauntlets shaping up

If you haven't already, try using this option instead of Layerswap. Just make sure the funds you are sending are coming from an ETH wallet and it should work almost the same, just a slightly longer wait

I agree we should cut the council pay, if we weren't in the middle of an epoch then I would be creating a proposal to modify governance v3. It does make it a little tough being in the middle though. Not because I don't think they deserve it but we need every bit of capital we can right now, including ILV. I think we could find a council for next epoch that works for their investment not additional ILV. Having a council with myself, aaron and one council member breaks the decentralised model, we can't do that.

Hilde freezes the illuvial and makes your gun do more damage. It doesn't do damager per second UNLESS you actually shoot the illuvial at the same time you use Hilde's ability.
M0zart on the other hand will do damage per second with his ability, even if you don't shoot with your gun

They aren't too dis-similiar , pick whichever is your preference I'd say

Both are really strong, especially with your ranger ability using the sword to get the homing missile bullets
