What probably is missing, is there is atm just a hardcore couple people left playing really.
If game can aquire like 20K + dau i guess you can also have fun in competing without getting into top 3. (not perfect stat illuvials)
Many games have millions of players and at least 50% of them know they are shit, but they still have fun in lower rankings and spend a shit ton of money on the game, never have a ROI in their mind.

i know what you mean but the problem i see is that in gauntlet you have to spend all that money right at the beginning at once! otherwise you can't play the game! in PvP this strategie will work because you don't need every illuvial to start playing. than you can increase your team step by step. that makes a big difference in my opinion!

Almost every game i played stacked up different modes with time and increasing playerbase.

When u make a tourney with 128people that is somewhat guaranteed even the last spots to earn a tiny bit, asking them to play for leviathan with their Illuvials is not a wrong thing

i don't think numbers of spots should be taken as parameter to decide on whether it is casual or leviathan, but rather think about which mode you want to bring attention to with this rumored first tournament.
Also maybe consider streamability in that decision. You want rather stream competitive gameplay or stream how 6 whales totally obliterate everyone else because the gap in this early phase is quite huge.
I probably would make it casual, and announce the first leviathan tournament during streams where the prize money is bigger.
always keep in mind, these tournaments are all set in place to onboard fresh blood, not to pay og's some money back.

Speaking on gaming prices. I am a pool player irl. When I play with a casual, they grab a stick from the wall, free. But players that really play have their own stick. Some are a few hundreds bucks.. some are a few thousand.

Someone could spend 2k on a really nice pool stick, and still not win every tournament, but if they are a good player, that 2k stick works a LOT better for them than a cheap stick. The guys that win money? They have invested.

You pay a higher price for better equipment. Just a different game.

Also, If I want to spend a few hours playing, it costs money.. to practice.. to grind. It's about 8 bucks an hour. Illuvium only costs me like 1 or 2 bucks an hour. Not bad really.

Each one has it's own set of individual values like pokemon. we just call them stats. You can fuse 3 stage one to make a stage 2, it will randomly take each stat from one of the ones you are fusing.

Gauntlet games start out with low tier critters, so if your low tier critters are good stats, you will have an advantage, so they are worth money. A tier 0 with crap stats is only worth a few cents at best, but good stats can be wirth a dollar or two and perfect stats could be 5 or 10 dollars..

The burns are not enough, but they bring a good burrning, I mean if you want to get stage 3 illuvial, you need to burn 9 Stage 1 Illuvials, and thats is alot in my opinion! But as you said if there is unlimited illuvilas, that means, if the player base goes up, it will be good for like a month, then in a month there will be another 1m illuvals minted, and the game will be absolutely, inflated, For the overworld touching 1mil is very hard, specs that you need for the game to play are kinda high, for some filipions to play! I still think the game has a great concept, but They need to make seasons of illuvilas, Cap the MAXIMUM ammount! And keep a gennesis collection, so at least illuvials, that people capututre in beta, will be woeth somethink at the end! That means it is (1/3)^3 x (2/3)^3 right?

Is just me or catch % are way off? 🤔

With +/- 60% catch chance, im spending 4/5 shards to get 1 catch when should be more like 1 fail in 3 trys.
