I believe there are two reasons that the safety pool is held in usdt. All the other DAO stables are in USDC. So putting the safety pool does two things. Differentiates the two types of funds. Diversifies risk a little bit at least.

Yeah, I just figured out the aiming mechanism changes when you get close. I was adjusting like when farther away and it threw all of my shots off. Now I know it sort of auto aims when close.
