Locker storage was removed. Hit Z to view your deck, then you can drag-and-drop items there from the inventory screen. BTW, you can't add "Illuvitars" to your team, but you can add Illuvials.

Good afternoon, I started playing OverWorld again today and noticed that all the Alluvials and resources I had disappeared. It also changed the entire structure of the game, I didn't like it, everything became more confusing.
Another thing, I thought I could sell the Alluvial I had captured in the Overworld, but apparently that's not what's going to happen, or maybe in another version.

Hi Disnaix, I appreciate your wife is mad, if I was unaware it was a beta version and going to be wiped, I'd probably be upset too. It is well documented that the Beta version of Overworld would be wiped. As far as i know the current beta 3 of overworld be wiped to. Even though its pretty awesome in its current form its nowhere near where the team wants it. Personally I'm glad for that as the current Pb3 has a lot of quality upgrades and I can see there are more to come. I really enjoy playing the game finding bugs or ideas for improvement, plus gaining greater clarity on strategy. If your wife is willing to give it another go, I would be encouraging her to do so, submit any feedback and stay connected to the website, discord, YouTube or X for updates. I have no idea if we will be rewarded for testing, I don't think we need to be. However we are in DAO are when the process opens up again you are more than welcome to add your ideas and feedback to gain support for rewards if you really feel its necessary. As the game currently stands perhaps see it as a way to see the iterations of game not many people will be privy to, having advanced knowledge once the game actually goes to open and the opportunity to shape its future. I hope she enjoyed the game beforehand.

As with most RPGs, XP gain is partly a function of the battle difficulty. So if you want more XP, pick harder fights 🙂 Also, using a Flintcap consumable will give you bonus XP in the next fight

How do you capture illuvials? Whenever I see a circling glowing orb and approach it or shoot at it, it just dissappears

You have to shoot it - It's likely you've been missing it by a little bit, and it despawns if you miss it when shooting.

An easy way to hit wakes is to jump, aim in the air (this turns on slow time), and charge a shot up before releasing. Aim right for the middle of the wake.

When you hit a wake, it won't despawn, and you can run up to it and enter the encounter. If you win, you can capture Illuvials.

I am curious about why we are limited to 5K energy a day for Overworld runs. Arena and Survival are not restricted, OW will only be limited by our wallets in Open Beta, and we aren't keeping anything we do there right now. If I had more energy each day I would be playing a lot more and providing more feedback. Any chance we can get that 5K increased?

The "official" answer is probably above my pay grade 🙂 but I can speculate:

• The system is designed around fuel limitations, so we want to make sure the limits are tested
• The limits stimulate (somewhat) realistic player behaviour - letting everyone run S3s all day isn't as valuable from a data analytics perspective
• We need to figure out the balance of travel costs, and having some of those analytics could help with that
• You c.an still play all day long, you'll just be stuck in S0 once the fuel runs out. Which, again, is a likely use case when fuel starts costing money. So like any good F2P model we need to make sure it's engaging enough to retain free players while teasing them toward the paid content.

Pretty much spot on - with Stage 3 travel costing significant amounts of fuel we're actually overgenerous right now with the 5k fuel.

Since very few people will run Stage 3 frequently 🙂

Sorry Ben, but I think you are underestimating how often Stage 3 will be run. Seeing how long it will take to gain 56k of XP to fuse a Tier 3 Illuvial, and how many PVP players will be hungry for the best Illuvials, I believe Stage 3 will be run a lot, at least in the first few weeks, even if it is a high fuel cost, because the potential for reward could be very much higher.

There some bubble in the Overworld that you need to shoot at it in the middle if possible then you will be able to use your Drone to:

I still have trouble shooting the things too sometimes 🙂 If you jump in the air and then aim while you're falling, you go into slow motion and it's a little easier. But you have to hit it straight on, it will escape if you only graze it.

Yeah, that's a known issue, but go ahead and report it anyway 🙂 If you equip the drone upgrade by itself, then exit the inventory window and open it back up to add stuff to your deck, it should be fine

The rework of Abyssal Basin is a huge upgrade and I like that the most now. Been OW since PB1 and got burned out on Crimson Waste, so only played through once but the lighting changes are great. Brightland is beautiful but I'm still learning the best paths for resource gathering, so it feels like traversing a lot of space to get to ore rich areas.

Perhaps you are wanting to use the forge to fuse the illuvials with two others that are just like it so you have one of the next stage if that illuvials line. (3 Atlas fuse to make one Axon)

My suggestion would be to start in grinding T0 stages.
Everyone starts with 2 illuvials and I think a couple of shards.
First steps are usually gather shards, and resources from the small rocky outcrops.
Use the resources to level up your boots and jet pack.
When you have shards head back to sanctum mesa and go to the Forge.

There you will see tabs up the top to refine shards and upgrade your gear.

Yeah, Rypterus Ranger skin looking pretty nice while playing it in Overworld did not expect it to like it that much.

I found that you get much less resources from mine per run.

You get more resources from plant (more esseences).

I can't tell much about the numbers of illuvials captured yet because, I mostly focused on farming ores to improve more quickly in the game later.

I got stage 2 Helmet, boots, and jetpack.
I found it more easy to travel long distance fast with the flying movement (ctrl)

I noticed that the stage3 dronechip request more mores for some chips and just a bit less for rare ores.

Overworld is looking fantastic so far, I really enjoy flying around specially in Brightland Steppes which I prefer vs Abyssal Basin vs Crimson Waste.

However, since the very beginning of Illuvium Zero, one of the uses of Hyperion has been described as to cure (a term that hasn't been defined as far as I know) shards. How will shards be aquired in Open Beta? Only from mines? Crafted or "cured" from Hyperion? Or some combination of both?

When you are in stage 1-2-3
In the inventory there should be a green X2 sign to the leaderboard score.
It goes down time by time , not totally sure if getting things faster helps holding the multiplator to x2 , but it goes down as long as you play.
Doing stuff in tier 0 doesn’t give you score for the leaderboard.

The ergon rifts are "activated" when the overload is triggered. This happens when you are low on energy. I believe its triggered when you have around 150 energy left (not sure the exact number).

At which point, I'd recommend to go check them out again. when you go through them, they give you a bit of energy to keep going

It’s based on each of the illuvials being fused. 1/3 chance for each illuvial’s stat to be the one rolled into the new one. This happens for each stat. So the final illuvial will likely contain stats based on each of the three.

every capture attempt drops those purple "stability" (don't remember the real name lol) points by the same amount as it costs in MP to put that illuvial on the board. Once those points hit 0 or go negative, that's when the encounter collapses. You can try to capture illuvials as many times as you want until the encounter collapses

There is luck for sure but it also depends on the Shard you are using and if you have drone chips equiped. The higher tier shards give you a better chance at capturing higher tier illuvials. There are some drone chip upgrades that increase your Capture Power, that can help out as well

The "mastery points" represent the dimensional stability. See it as Mozart/Drone keeping the space open. The lower the amount of points, the smaller the area it can keep stable.
Naturally a negative is it being unable to hold the space open for longer. but keeps you able to flee the space back to reality after capturing the Illuvial.

Indeed maybe interesting to change it so that negative stability would negatively affect the Illuvials capture rate?

An Illuvial has 2 ways if escaping capture.
1 is when you fail to catch it in a shard. It just gows back to the board, awaiting your second attempt.
2 is when the Illuvial completely leaves the encounter. Also a set chance and is reduced by "illuvial escape %" chips.

Increasing the capture chance would allow you to catch things in one go, but there would be a group that runs away. Decreasing rhe escape chance would make it more sifficult to catch things compared to capture chance, but you would have multiple attempts

If you have 2 points available, you can still try to catch a 100 points Illuvial yeah. Chances should be the same. So in the current state it would be best to catch things as efficiently as possible and try for that big one at the end. (Only if you dont necessarily nééd the big one)

I.e. 120 points -> there are 4 Illuvials. You could try for 110 points (30+40+40) and then go for the final 100 point one and end so you end up with -90 points.

While this is the most efficient and you could get all 4 Illuvials, you may also prefer going for the big 100 point Illuvial twice for better odds at getting that big one. 🙂

So capture % gear first then maybe escape % later? It seems like early game you don't get many chances without using items. So the first chance matters most.

In the previous version I just went ham on Capture chance and didnt bother with escape chance. But yeah this sounds like a good rule of thumb. Once you realise that you have plenty of points to capture your preferred Illuvials, you can shift in part towards escape percentage.

But this isnt backed by hard numbers. Maybe catch chance is like 40% and escape odds are 2%. If you then reduce escape chance by 50% you would have 1% escape chance. If you had gotten 1.5x capture chance, youd have 60% catch chance. Probably good to experiment a bit.

you need to deconstruct a regular visor to obtain an epic equipment component.

So basically you build 2 of those basic ones and destroy them. Then you have 2, and you can destroy the one you always wear and you have 3 components.
Those 3 + New materials -> Advanced Visor.

Make sure you have enough materials to make the advanced visor, or you'll have to run around without nethersight for your next run!

I have no clue btw. But check the boxes at the top of the ore image. If it has 1 box it is Tier 1 -> Very common in stage 1 runs.
2-4 boxes probably best in Stage 2 runs.
5 Boxes, probably best to go either Stage 2 or Stage 3 runs.

Early on its roughly 1 (gas) resource per generation building/24 hours, so a very long time if people don't upgrade their lands. However, land upgrading is relatively fast, so buy the end of one month people will probably be generating 60-100 of each of the 3 gas types per day

The way it was explained to me is. The illuvial is inside a shard, think pokeball, after a battle of the illuvial was hurt the shard integrity reduces.

Yes, think of it like stamina. It decreases as the Illuvial fights. If it gets too low you get a debuff, if it gets down to 0 that Illuvial can't fight anymore. But it resets when you return to SM.

I think i just found something wrong in the overworld. Dunno if it is something known or intentional but , when you give multiple items to the same illuvials the item will vanish from the inventory.
Like , i gave multiple flint to the same illuvials , burning all of them with the exception of the last one. You can actually waste in the void everything without using them , even for error like me , cause i was trying to take back a dragon egg from the illuvial. And i ended up burning all of them from the inventory.

And I still have no idea on how to take an item back from illuvials.

But for the record, that is how consumables work. You "use" it by dropping it on an Illuvial, at which point it's consumed - notice how they all come from plants and are named kinda like food items? Fruits, nuts, etc. That sets up a buff for the next fight, but the buffs don't stack, meaning if you use a new one, the old one goes away. (Except for the shard integrity one, that's a special case)

Exactly, that's the kind of thing that would make for some useful feedback. It's working as intended, but maybe "as intended" could be improved. I've said before, a lot of the changes in this version came directly from player feedback in the previous one - not necessarily bugs, just gameplay mechanics that didn't quite work as well in practice as the designers thought they would

So next time you're in the game, open the bug tool and send your thoughts along. I promise they'll at least be considered 🙂

My Region Travel map usually shows your % of exploration per area. when you leave the game, it resets, right ?
It does reset for me where all goes to 0%. Except Crrimson waste shows 71% explored and keep on going up.

Hi so I am playing for the first time . I have over 25 years experience with MMOs and I can already tell this game has accomplished being simultaneously different and engaging.
I can say with all honest and probably over 10,000 hours of MMO game time that Illuvium has the potential to compete gameplay wise with any top tier MMO.

most MMO you start in rags and run slow as sheet and if you grind for 6 months you might get your self 6 foot chicken tier 1 mount to increase your movement speed by 40%

Exploration percentage is just a random placeholder, doesn't mean anything yet. Leaderboard score is based on several things, including the value of the items/Illuvials you pick up and the speed at which you get them. So high scores are most likely to come from S3 runs.

It's was hard at start, but getting xp and good tank + them composition help.

I only tried once to catch illuvials in OW stage 3 and 👀 I was not ready for that, those Encounter Mods make the fight harder, specially the 45% additional dodge....

Correct. Using the illuvial reduces shard integrity, using the illuvial and it being defeated causes even more

Illuvials are stored in the shards, and using them wears down the shard over time. Or something like that. Short version is that there's now a cost to using the Illuvials in battle, which you get back by using the ringnuts or ending your run. But if you've never noticed it, maybe the cost isn't very high...
