They are both very important, but the arena, in a way, is the "battle system" for what is a role playing game (overworld), if you think of it. We will, after all, create our ranger (would be awesome to eventually get a lot of hair and face styles to improve immersion) and explore the world and all that hidden lore. the arena is just the system we use to battle and pvp.
And getting those rpg players hooked in illuvium is very important imo

You don't need lands to play; lands are part of the in-game economy. They produce resources that will be needed in the overworld. Illuvials will be captured in the overworld, not on the lands.

The councils thereby reduce, and you could say we go back towards the 5 man decision making team again that we saw in the first 6 epochs, but with an additional sub- council that integrates feedback from the community actively, and a number of unpaid professional advisors that have a good amount of skin in the game.

The sub councils were there previously to bé the professionals, but the additional tasks scared away a number of good candidates. Now as committee members, they only will have to inform or weigh in on decisionmaking within the council, which is a lot less time consuming.

So it is probably a more streamlined decisionmaking organ than what we have now, and puts the accountability in the hands of the IMC.

I don't see a huge problem here as 1) imc chooses who to appoint and having vested interest or in the opposite conflict of interest would be weighed and 2) even if they somehow got appointed their counsel is advisory. They don't make the decisions. IMC would be the one the dao has to hold accountable not the committee

Yeah so my understanding from the proposal is that committee credentials and their own intentions to be nominated whether it be due to their token investment or say someone from IMX is part of that nominee cause they see the success of illuvium inures to their success etc. All of these should be weighed by the IMC.

If the IMC makes a mistake in appointing someone they should be able to properly defend their appointment.
