Illuvium arena is basically glorified pokemon card battles.

You buy packs, you collect cards and then create a deck to win from others.

Illuvium does not want you to pay massive amounts so it is not too costly to make an entire deck. You can also choose to stay free to play but you will be limited to a set amount of low power illuvials to practice with.

But I believe you can only list things with ETH/USDC on the IlluviDEX (illuviums own marketplace)

Modular PFPs with a collection game. They don't earn in-game currency. You could bridge them to L1 and list them on OpenSea, or you could leave them on IMX and avoid gas fees. The sale is on IMX (L2) anyways. Illuvium isn't associated with The Sandbox Game, so no current plans to have Illuvitars be avatars in their game. It's certainly not impossible for that to happen, but there's no current plans for that.

So yeah, collectibles you can accessorize and complete album collections with. Some of the things that have been floated as rewards for completing collections are things like in-game skins etc.

Plus they look super dope.

Milestones are goals within collections that can offer rewards and/or points upon completion. Although Milestone rewards aren't yet implemented, they'll be added in a later release. I don't want to be a hater but I feel like it needs to be said. Why are we releasing a crappy card game before the actual game is out? I have been staked in Illuvium since the early days, and to me it feels foolish to release a sub par mini game before the AAA game we were all promised. Yeah its a cool idea to have customizable avatars, but does noone else feel like we should have something for the public to play before we go releasing expensive collectable pfps. One of the things that got me into illuvium was the idea that the game would actually be good, not just a crappy card game like Axie Infinity. Now many peoples first impression of illuvium will be exactly that. Obviously its too late, but in my oppinion, even if its finished why not just wait until the game is out.

The idea with earning ILV is that it's likely going to be tied to Arena gameplay. So if you're good in the Arena and can do well against other players in PvP, then you have a chance at earning that in-game ILV.
