There are 150+ illuvials in batch 1 and each captured Illuvial will be numbered, and have its own stat roll. So while you can catch multiples of the same illuvial each one will be unique.

It seems like your understanding of the difference between private overworld beta and open beta is a part of the issue.

The open beta is the public game launch. The overworld beta is not that. And is what I’ve recently heard should be available in December.
