I've noticed that many of the blockchain games (ie StepN, axie infinity) design their ecosystem (presumably unintentionally) in a way that makes them dependent on a continuous influx of new players.
Specifically, StepN had a system heavily reliant on players upgrading their shoes. This required burning GST which maintained it's value against inflation as people earned GST.
However, once you're onboarding volume declines and players get into the late-game, the market inevitably crashes as burning declines and supply increases uncontrolled.
Would you agree this is an accurate understanding, or am I missing something? And how is Illuvium designing it's economy to prevent design issues like this?
I've started to think that creating blockchain games is going to require businesses to hire economists to help design and manage their economies to prevent issues like these.

STEPN and axie both have unlimited inflation with their NFT and tokens so they rely on an increase in playerbase to absorb the additional assets. Illuvium has capped token supply and a deflationary NFT model so we shouldn’t have those problems as much. We also do employ at least one economist to help out with the economy design.

It still would have value based on revenue since the DAO would be buying ILV tokens. Personally i'd prefer to take profits by selling tokens rather than give 50% of all the value Illuvium generates to the government.

It really doesnt seem like they have any idea how long anything is gonna take. The may dev blog said PB2 is almost ready and here we are almost 2 months later not even having the autobattler PB2 done yet.
So either "almost ready" means something different in Australia or they werent as almost ready as they thought they were.
Hopefully we can get one product to drop in the first half of August at least. I was really hoping something would be released in July...

In Jade Cocoon you literally just start in a village with a dagger and wander out into the forest. Your earliest creatures you have to personally fight to weaken and capture them. You collect them as spirits and evolve them by combining them together. The Cocoon masters (people battling with creatures) can collect gear and weapons and fight each other as well during battles.
