This is a brilliant idea, and - despite many people freaking out - would be beneficial for the DAO too. People underestimate how much money it would require to level an illuvial to 60, then burn it, and level it up again, possibly multiple times.

People also overestimate how many new "perfect" illuvials this method would produce. It's not like there would suddenly be a flood of perfects.

I also don't buy the argument that this would alienate top collectors. If the prices of perfect stat illuvials would come down, it would allow more people to go after perfect decks, driving up the demand side. It would also mean more people could gamble perfect stats in fusing, now going after perfect holo, and even perfect dark holo decks - something no one is even remotely close to having - driving up the demand side again.

IMO, many people have a shortsighted view of game economics, forming opinions based on current player numbers/market values. But the current numbers are irrelevant long term. If the game can't bring in significantly more players, it will die anyway. And if the game succeeds, then the demand will far outstrip supply - especially because by that time set 1 illuvials will be extinct in the wild.

People were saying "the game will die" when the reveal all illuvials on the map feature were introduced. Then again when the auto drone runs were planned. And voila, nothing happened... It's the same with changing stats, this is the current boogeyman, that does not really exist...

Thanks for the support. I actually came back to the game because of the simplified fuel, ADR and revealed illuvials. I stopped playing past the initial reward seasons, because it was way too costly. Then ADR showed up and I was able to do a run that is cheaper than what it was at game launch. And then I decided to try actual runs agains and saw the simplicty with the fuel. And the map reveal and now I like spending time in the game way more.

Another thing is that I have 0 level 60 illuvials. I don't spend money on S2 and S3 runs. But that might get me to be a higher spending player. If I can get my top illuvials and build them up.

We need both. People think they want to have everything but in fact once they accomplish something their dopamine levels drop and then they just want more.
I would love to have all the Illuvials as DHs with perfect stats and easily level them to 60 but Illuvium should not make that possible for me because then I won't give them more money.

So, we have to walk in balance, we need to make Illuvials easy enough to acquire so that people don't give up but we need some rarity to keep people pushing for something better. We want easy but we aren't actually satisfied with easy - our brains are weird that way.

That's why I like Holos, DHs, scarcity of perfect stats and levels being hard to achieve. Meanwhile getting a full set of Illuvials to feel good to have the album say complete is definitely doable.

But we're at a point in which nobody will be able to own such a collection. There's nothing wrong if you make it possible with spending enough money and time. Just look at how freemium games work. You can get everything but you'd need to spend countless hours. And you're given the chance to speed up your grind. Which is what will happen if you play S2/S3 runs.

I've played quite a lot of illuvium. Maybe not as much as some of you, but I don't even have a single perfect stat illuvial. Not to mention a holo or dark holo one.

We already have an example with illuvitars. There is no t5 background rare expression holo rhamphyre. Zero. And people want to collect perfect things. But they are too rare to even see.
Even if there is 1. Someone will buy it and it will not see gameplay or listing like ever again. Who wants that?

Have you played GU? They had 1 of 1 cards. That people just kept in their wallets and almost noone saw ingame.

I think thats kind of the point though some things will just be that exclusive it is kind of the whole reason NFTs took off pretty much every high value NFT collection thrived off of that exclusivity. I dont think there is anything wrong with some things in the game being very exclusive/uncommon. I mean even look at CSGO and knives the super rare old knives that are highly desirable cost considerable money because they are exclusive and not really available otherwise. Thats what brought it crazy investment into that gaming scene.

Will people have got into the game then to turn it into the power house it is. Or if the stats of the cards were randomized. And you get into a game and you lose, because of stuff you can't control. Like opening a worse version or not having as much money to buy a better one. And once a set is locked it'll get worse. We might end up with 0 perfect Atlases. And people who want a perfect collection, will know for a fact there is no point in even trying.

Bottom line is that if we change things now we are going to be taking away rarity from people who have spent a lot of money on perfect stat Illuvials, either by buying or fusing them. We can't change the rules after people have paid money for them, it is unfair to those people. If we do it then we do so realizng we could very well alienate them and have them leave the community. These are people who have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars. Illuvium needs the customers who spend money and do so at a point of project development when it is still risky to do so.

This is the irony though. The only way for those collectors to retain - or grow - the value of those perfect stats illuvials is if the game thrives. And to get to that point, we need to generate enough money for the team to build that game which eventually breaks through and brings lots of players.

So features like this should be welcomed, as these would give more reason for people to play (and pay) for OW. Players would happily spend 50 dollars on runs to end up with a 20 dollar illuvial in the end, and be happy about it. The more they play, the more they get hooked, some of them decides to stay longer and start collecting themselves. Scarcity would take care of itself naturally as the player base grows. And those 50 dollars spent would benefit the people who already invested a lot.

It's the same with levels in leviathan. Many people are against them but they don't consider how much (paying) game effort is required to level those illuvials to 60.

I know Ned's idea is not gonna be built, we don't have the dev time, OW is moving in a different direction, and people would vote it down. But it is sad to see the short term focus of many in the community.

We do need reasons for people to play and we do need to encourage new players but not at the expense of the people who have already spent a lot of money. Screw your loyal customers and no one trusts you any more - including new customers who are looking to come in.

Also, overworld is in the middle of developing an MMO-lite, which is arguably what the vast majority wanted overworld to be. The work the guys have shown so far, and the vertical slice, looks very exciting. I don’t think many would vote that down in favour of what we have now.
Also, the runway is around 2 years give or take. We have funds to keep developing, and Kieran has said he will do another raise when needed. There was even chat about those guys using their personal token stash to keep things moving if I’m not mistaken

Also, I very much doubt people would enjoy paying 50 dolllars per run… I know I would not, and I’m someone who absolutely loves the game; that just seems like an off-putting high number for one overworld run

I don't think something like this would screw loyal customers, and I include myself in this group. Which scenario would you prefer as the owner of a perfect stat illuvial, if there were 5 of those illuvials in existence and a player base of 1000, or if there were 25 in existence and a player base of 100k?

I see no significant income for the project anytime soon. So I think features that incentivise players to play (and pay) would need to trump anything else. That's the only way we, early investors can ever see a return on our money. Including the skins we both collect 🙂

You misunderstood me here, I did not mean 50 dollars per run, I said 50 dollars on runs... The idea was to level up an illuvial to 60, before you could burn it (and 2 others) to gain 1 unit of 1 stat out of 6. It takes a lot of runs to level one up to 60, so it may even be more than 50 dollars to get there. It's also not exclusive to the current OW, I imagine we will be gaining xp while playing the new MMO as well.

I advocated in the past that levels be just as or more important in the strength of an Illuvial than their stats and I still believe they should be. I think we should be rewarding play time over luck. I just don't want to mess with the stats we have right now. I don't think that by telling people they can change the stats we would get 95K more players, I think we would see a decrease.

Something I think would be cool is if we scrapped levels and instead did an innate stats (current stats) and learned stats (what levels could become). Different missions would grant different points to your learned stats. The stats would be different for each Illuvial line. Like for Steve he might have a Heating Stat where he learns how to make his lava hotter or whatever. With this system if you have people who are just spending money and stacking up the highest stat Illuvials but never playing with them they won't necessarily be the strongest. An Illuvial that had a full hex of Learned Stats and avernage Innate Stats would beat the lazy full Innate Stat Illuvial. The most powerful in the game would of course be the Illuvials who had both hexes filled. We would need to take the Illuvials that are already at level 60 and give them a head start since we have paid money and spent time to get them to that level. It would be fun though to make Illuvials better, to see what the missions were and figure out which of your Illuvials need to be strengthened in that way and play them for that round.

We are on the same side so I take no offence nor do I feel attacked discussing these things. I know we both want Illuvium to succeed and we both have put a lot of time, money and love into this project. Same with Ned, he's been here a long time too. I do think it is so important we reward people for playing.

But as things are it'll be a train crash in slow motion.

People are incentivised to throw money on the project and pay to not play. You're better of paying 1$ for a good illuvial and not even opening the game.
Buying such illuvial gives the DAO like half a cent. (5% royalties) of which only 10% go to the DAO.

Instead of people being allowed to build up a team of illuvials by playing. This uses fuel of which the DAO will get 10%, not 0.5%. Also this will give value to Zero players.

People who own high quality illuvials think that if more of these exist they will be diluted. This might be true.
However if no such illuvials show up it means the game is dying. So their value will be dropping.

The logical thing in my mind is allowing more people to be able to attain those, in order for more people to play.

It's a delusion to think that you'll keep your things to yourself and magically people will come and beg you for your stuff.

Here's a comparisson. If you somehow bought all the pokemon packs when they launched. You'd have all the charizzards.

First step is to have the suit that matches the skin you want to use ie you need an Impervium suit to put an Impervium skin on it.
Take the suit and put it in your SUIT box. Then hover over it and push "X". That will bring up the list of skins compatible and you just click it to equip it.

so furious. started putting units on the baord to fight this, the game client shut down. Load up, get the 500 error. wait a while, get in, try and run the fight, put all uints on the board, only half go into the fight, the ones I'd had on the board when it shut down initially. Cut out of the fight as soon as I realised.
Loaded in again after a few more 500 errors, was able to put all units on the board. Added some consumables, in case that changed things. It took the consumables from my balance, but didn't apply them in the fight, and still only had the 4 illuvials on the table, not all.
WTF.

Yeah I found a bug the other day that removes all my ranger gear, the gun, boots etc straight after an encounter. I can switch game off via task manager then jump in again, but I have to keep doing it after every encounter once the bug starts 😔

Yes, unfortunately, the situation is really bad. The only solution I’ve found is to exit the encounter, which sometimes works... but afterwards, you’re guaranteed to get an error

What are the errors doing to your game play? For me after an encounter I'd lose my ranger weapon jetpack and boots. After a game reset it would work again, but would happen again after every encounter. Would usually only bug out about 1/2 way through my run, so could get a bit or work done.

I agree. I didn’t realise how much beautiful graphics really made an impact for me in an mmo/open world style game.
I come from World of Warcraft where those fantasy elements + unique character graphics, I probably took a little for granted. Illuviums art style is another level, and even though some say they want a good game and don’t care about the graphics, I definitely appreciate both!

How about Genetic Enhancement or Evolutionary Point.
add one more feature for every illuvials, let's name it Genetic Enhancement( GE ), there have 10 level of GE. it use CORE of fire/wood/water to upgrade, you can Enhance a water illuvial from GE level 1 to 2 with 20 CORE of water , these 20 COREs would come from releasing (or burning ) 20 stage 1 water illuvials. stages 3 illuvials would have 9 CORE each.
base stats(TPI) would not be change, higher GE leverl would enhance your base stats ,may be 1 level for 10% better.
and GE 1 to GE2 pays 20 CORE,
2-3 pays 40
3-4 pays 60
4-5 pays 80
....

btw, burning illuvial would not make collecting harder, nobody wants to collect shit stat illuvials . you would never success to sell a shitty stat illuvials on the market, but you can burn it for a CORE, to upgrade your best illuvials.

After the fact you can always go to your Passport Profile and then you can look at your Illuviuals. In the option it will say finish and you can ask for Dark Holo or Holo.

it depends on the price you set, how perfect the stats are. Most players that I am aware of don't need to grab a lot of the common stage 1 illuvials, but you might get some. And high end you can sell, but the floor is low, the game needs a lot more players.
But that is my opinion, others might disagree

Is it just me being unlucky with shard captures?
In the last 3x T3 runs after the last patch I had at least 10 failed captures with a 60%+ chance, and even one 99,67%.... Might just be "bad luck" but it seems a bit odd, compared to how it usually is. (starting to try to win the fights with more capture chances, but it's risky, and use 100% chance shards for everything I really want to capture now)

in game increased percent items could be priced off of the cost of fuel being that you decrease the amount that you would need to capture helps fuel flow

My friend, first and foremost, it's important to say that this is just my personal approach.
Others may see it as incorrect — and that’s perfectly okay.
**
A short preface:**
We're not talking about cases where you plan to hold your Illuvial for a long time, hoping to sell it later at a higher price.
That’s too speculative and unpredictable.
Instead, we're looking at another scenario: you want to sell your Illuvial in the near future with the maximum possible profit.

Let’s walk through your first screenshot as an example — Phorus.

1. Stats: some matter more than others
Each Illuvial has stats that are more or less important, which affects its market value.
For Phorus, this factor is less relevant, because most of its stats are equally valuable for its role. So, we’ll skip that in this case.

2. Meta
In the past, meta had more impact on Illuvial prices. Right now, almost all Illuvials are used in the current weapon system — so meta is less important.
However, there are exceptions. Special rules currently apply only to:

Tier 0 Stage 1

Tier 0 Stage 3

Tier 2 Stage 3

These Illuvials appear much less often in Gauntlet, and that affects their value.
Since your Phorus is from a different Tier/Stage — we can safely ignore this factor too.

3. Filters
Use filters to see comparable listings:

Set filters to Tier 5, Stage 2

Then select Nature as dominant affinity and Fighter as dominant class — this will give you all listed Phorus.

4. Comparable stats
Now set stat filters slightly below your Phorus’s stats.

Ignore Movement Speed — the market doesn’t value it, unless it’s 30/30 (which is extremely rare).
Also, do not use the Trait Purity filter — forget it exists. It's convenient for beginners, but gives a distorted view of true value.

Your Phorus has the following stats:

HP: 4

Resistances: 3

Attack Speed: 5

Movement Speed: ignore

Attack Damage: 5

Omega Power: 3

Now reduce each of those by 1 and check the listings.

From that, you’ll see comparable Phorus listings starting at $12.
But your Phorus is slightly better. Searching further, you’ll find one listed for $52, which is slightly better than yours.

So, we now have a rough value range:
$12 to $50.

5. Market saturation
Sometimes, there just aren't enough listings of a specific Illuvial.
Maybe Phorus is sold out, while other Tier 5 Stage 2 Illuvials (e.g. Goliant) are still listed.

Next step:
Remove the dominant class and affinity filters.
Now you’ll see all Tier 5 Stage 2 Illuvials.

From your second screenshot, we see an Octius — clearly stronger than your Phorus — listed for only $20.
That matters. The cheapest Illuvial of the same Tier and Stage greatly influences perceived value.

So now we revise the range:
Your Phorus is realistically worth $12–$16, considering that stronger options are listed cheaper.

6. Color / Shine / Holo
In most cases, the market does not care whether your Illuvial is Holo or shiny.
At best, Holo may give you a tiny premium — and only for Tier 4 or 5.

But if it's Dark Holo, that’s a different story — the value skyrockets.

Your Phorus is regular — so we ignore this factor.

7. Level
Level can only give you a minor premium if your Illuvial is level 55–60.
In every other case, buyers don’t care.

Level can be changed. Stats cannot.

Your Phorus is level 20 — ignore this factor.

8. The magic of undercutting
Now comes the Illuvidex golden rule:

Most listing prices you see are not real.
They are just dust collectors.

Just because it’s listed for $50 doesn’t mean anyone’s paying that.
In reality, true market prices are usually 40% lower than the listings.

Let’s apply this:

Earlier, we estimated your Phorus was worth $12–16

Subtract 40%

That gives you a realistic price range of: $7.20 – $9.60

P. S. I know some people might feel offended by this — especially if they believe their Illuvial is worth much more.
But again, this is just my trading mindset.
What we hope something is worth doesn’t always match the market reality.

I haven’t timed it exactly, but I’d guess one ADR takes about 10 seconds (rough estimate).

If you do 6 ADRs per minute, that’s 48 Illuvials in 60 seconds.
Or 2,880 Illuvials per hour — plus you have to add Illuvials from Overworld, though I think that’s just a small margin.

I believe what @ashen furnace is doing is quite feasible.

Why he does it, that’s another question. Most likely, he’s a maximalist. But it’s precisely players like him who support the project with their money.

so when I first forged weapons/armour, they had stats, hold shift and you could see them. Is that still a thing, or is it just whatever is created is the same for each type? I was going to forge a higher level of my boomerang, but when I initially forged it, it was pretty much perfect, and if that matters I'd rather do full one from new.

Did you make any updates in illuvium overworld? Since in a stage 3 map, I'm taking out level 1 shards, and the illuvials escape me with an 82% chance of capture, and not to mention the probability of 52% the drone can't even catch it because sparks come out 🤦🏻‍♀️

I had another DH Headi so I tried for a DH Krunk.
Unfortuantely he got the resistance from the Headi I caught this morning but he sure is pretty and at least has a perfect Omega and Health. The sparkles after the fuse took so long, I was scared I ended up with a regular.

Totally - you have full control on what you get from the run. As for me, I can't remember when was my last time I didn't use the basic energy for capturing illuvials (either high tier or at a least with 3 perfect stats). The only downside is that it's time consuming, but if you like OW this doesn't apply 😛

There is a bug at the moment where they are showing incorrect in some cases.
What it says on the illuvidex / your profile after capture is the correct one. So it’ll be a standard Holo

looks like the bug appeared again where not all your assets load.
just return to menu and go back into ow again and they should load.

But this way I spend only 481 energy. I can pick up to 8 illuvials with regular energy and one more with the ergon rifts, 9 total. Or, if there is a Tectonic Neovite or many green ore on the map, I can pick up like 5 or 10 shards extractions, and give up one or two illuvials.

Yep... It appears to be possible to capture one more, if you focus only on energy reduction. But it's not every map you will have 10 good illuvials to catch, only a few.
On the other hand, if you focus only on capture power, you can reach up to 27 points more. Which is a considerable percentage added to the shards.

Found it, stage 2 Brightland run!

I haven’t done it for a while, but I think it still works. Buy the shards, exit the game (not the region!). When you go back in, you will have the shards.

I have more than 40 items stuck in the queue. I’m getting a 403 Forbidden error, and I think there might be a temporary issue with the support system. What can we do about this?

I have over 50,000 items, and loading screens in the game have started taking more than a minute. If I open a second account and transfer all Illuvials with TPI below 70, it will probably take me at least 2 days.
If anyone knows an easier way, I’d appreciate the help 🙏

Sounds like you have an error loading your gear, might also be the reason why you don't see your shards.

What is an ergon rift ?

as soon as you have 150 ergon energy or lower and the "dome of doom" starts shrinking, the ergon rifts open up.
You can jump through them to get some additional energy.
It's kinda like a race against time where you can get some bonus stuff in those last 5 mins of your run.

yea at the very end if you are out of energy the dome is closing and a timer starts ticking down in the middle of your screen.
outside of that dome, you can't collect assets and your ranger is taking damage.
the dome shrinks until it's just arround the obelisk

From the last 13 weeks there was a Bounty hunt. Specific, illuvials give 4x more points when captured. This week here the list bottom right.

And with jumping through a couple ergon rifts you can easely aquire another 800 energy to harvest some stuff or catch another illuvial during those last 5 minutes
Might want to place those teleport beacons you discovered today stretegically to gather rifts more easely when time is ticking down

yes, probably in 1 year, or later we will see them. and untill it> "decoding failed" after every run, even we can't open new regions now

It was a mechanism where the community was working towards decoding it and if it was all decoded, the next region got opened up.
in the beginning there was just brightland steps available, and with decoding crimson waste and abyssal basin opened up to be explored.

but currently there is no region in the decoding pipeline, so it will always fail.

they shifted developing from doing all games at the same time, to focus more on one game and do one after each other.
Since like last october or so, the focus went to Arena.
With arena now being feature complete (for the moment) the focus shifts more and more towards the mmo-lite (OW update)

If you lose a fight in the overworld once you have started the auto-battler, that illuvial(s) is lost forever.
If it escapes you when you're shooting it and hunting it down BEFORE you engage in the autobattler combat, you can find it again in the region somewhere

But if you was already fighting it in the arena style game, and you lost, it's gone
