• shouldn't the in fight screen show the true damage based on level? Had to remove my level calculation for example for att dmg 217/(1.01^19) = 180
• omega 122 doesn't seem explainable 145 is the real level 20 value for this Illuvial and 120 would be the lvl 1 base value.

in fight: 2439
after capture: 2408
Illuvidex: 2899/(1,01^19) = 2399,6
Based on the stat picture something above the base for 20% of 2400 hp should be right. Which would again mean that the in fight picture doesn't show the true fighting power and instead showes something close to base values, but not really base values in some cases.
And no, this encounter hadn't any relevant mods

Looks super strange to me, but at least I can work with this chaos to hit the stats more accurately. Still shouldn't this be more clear?

I'm checking the stats before "start of the fight" and not during it. During battle it seems that level bonuses are applied, so it's even harder to calculate what's going on

So to get them right, you just check the base stats showed on the illuvidex and compare them with the in-game before fight

When acquiring shards from runs, how abundant do they feel? Outside of trading?

Rate it from 1 to 10

1 is "Do shards even drop? I just buy them"

10 is "I'm drowning in shards, everytime I need one, 100 magically sit in my bags"

Tier 1-4 shards are very easy to get.

T5 shards are waaaay to rare, here is why. T5 shards are only good for catching T5 stage 1 Illuvials and that only gives roughly 50% capture chance. So you need 2 to get 1 tier 5 stage 1. I find on average you get 1 shard per run. Sometimes less sometimes more.

It is also pointless to use tier 4 shards on tier 4 stage 2/3 illuvials so you have to use T5 shards for them too. So you can see given the rarity why we are so lacking in them.

I would literally spend more money on tier 5 shards if I could, but they are so rare I can't. So it's actually a income bottleneck.

The result is I only ever catch high stat t5 illuvials cause if yoy use then on anything else you run out.

Of course you can buy more on the market place.... but ad someone with literally tonnes of fuel I can't actually use it because fuel doesn't buy raw shards and I can't spend it because I havnt found them

A stage 3 run basically looks like this

Quick scout of the area shooting all green rocks on the way, while looking for rare illuvials.

Catch the best ones, hopefully by this stage you have all the green gems and the large rock.

Then grab the rifts and shoot any white rocks or plants you need before the stage closes

i guess the problem is with the low catchrates.
The system basically wants that one has a chance to fail and don't catch the illuvials he just battled.
On the other side there is a player sitting who desperatly want that illuvial.
So he might try to get it a couple times with the same tier of shard as the Illuvial is but uses the higher shard to secure it in the end very often.
As my friend above already told, i don't really use a t4 shard anymore for T4 s2/3 and rather go directly with the t5 to save time and don't have to fail 3-4 times with a t4 shard to finally throw a t5 shard anyways.

everything is approximately the same as written above: t5=1, t1,t2,t3=10, t4=8.
Of course, I shoot all lazurit on the map.
But I don't buy t5 shard now (I did before). Due to the need for good traits, I don’t take almost 100% of t5 illuvals, they almost always have bad statistics. So t5 shards are accumulated little by little, but an average of 3 shards are spent on one illuvial...

I usually do stage 3 runs or stage 1 runs. If your after tier 5 creatures stage 3 runs are the only option.

I guess you could find the occasional t5 shard in a stage 2 run but it is still rare and you usually just end up finding more t4 shards there

as everyone said, getting everything other than t5 shards is easy. run usually looks like this: before run, scan for illuvials. mark rare ones on map. run towards big rock deposit to see if it contains t5 shard. shoot green rocks on the way. use remaining energy to capture smth if it is worth it. most t5 illuvials i skip since i would be only wasting those rare t5 shards. never find anything worth using master shard to capture, so i'm just holding onto them for now.

I mostly agree with Dr Spoon's ranking above. My rank would be 1 for T5, 10 for T1-T3 and 8 for T4.

T5 are too rare.

I am a green rock shooter but don't hunt them out on the map, just if I see them. I mostly buy T4 and T5 rather than get them in runs. The prices are low in the market for shards so I can spend my energy on Illuvials and plants (since I can't buy those in the market).

Approximately 90% of my runs are S3.

Master Shards I have made and also bought on the marketplace.
I have always known I want to make skins so will need a lot of T5 Illuvials. When I could view stats I would check the price of a comparable stat Illuvial on marketplace to the price of shards and that would determine which shard I used for a capture.

That said, there have been times I have overspent on a shard to capture my own just because I want it. I don't always play rationally.

Sorry if I missed a lot of the talk around this subject already, and am just repeating stuff, I’m at work atm so haven’t got much time to back read…

But I’d say all shards are fine except T5. I have to buy around 80% of the ones I use, and I’d throw a lot more if I didn’t have to buy them tbh. I just try and be cost effective sometimes

But outside of getting lucky with the larger deposits, I don’t see many of them per run. If any at all.
And I always try and shoot 90% green rocks if I am harvesting for shards

I would rate the balance of finding shards, including T5, as a solid 10/10. Who here finds T5/STG1 - T5/STG2 or T4/STG3 worth catching based on their daily STG3 runs?

• At least based on my own experience, in 1 day / 25 STG3 runs, the number of T5s I found worth catching never exceeded 3 or 4.

• In these 25 STG3 runs, I could find at least 8-9 / T5 shards, so I don’t see any issue with the balancing.

Of course, if players want to take their chances with 1x50 or below-average T5s, maybe the rate could be increased 🙏

If I were to make a small comment based on the current market prices, it's clear that they are far below where they should be.

Partially, yes. Actually, if I were to share something interesting, I sometimes find 1 - T5 shard in S2 runs. For example, after doing 10 consecutive S3 runs, I enter S2 once (kind of like my ritual).

If I find 0 T5 shards in those 10 S3 runs, there’s about a 70% chance I’ll get T5 shards in that first S2 run. Just wanted to share a short anecdote 😅

I'm afraid I've never used a controller for overworld - always just stuck with Keyboard.
I know some where playing around with controllers in overworld some time ago, but since they're not officially supported by the team, I don't know how far they went in terms of working perfectly

I did just find an old message from Rich saying to use reWASD - apparantly that works great. No idea if it still stands to this day though

An IIP would be public. As soon as it was posted, people would start selling to themselves at the bottom rail as they already were maximizing the fuel output and increasing our "Fuel dept"

There were plenty of high tier plots that had fuel storage and would only sell as they needed it. There were some calculations done that if everyone dumped all the fuel sitting on the plots and potentially generating more fuel as it took the time to get through the iip process, we would have generated roughly millions of $ in fuel dept for 10s of thousands of dollars in revenue.

So in essence the bonding curve is still in place for OW runs, even though the "plateau" has been hit for most illuvials, but not for autodrone

Effectively, OW will slowly drift towards the autodrone over time in terms of acquisition cost

How do we tackle it? In essence quite simple: we "step function" autodrone with every Battle Pass. So future autodrones maybe the Tier 5 chance will be 1% lower, the next 1.5% lower, depending on success of OW runs

This is still not 100% confirmed but for the battle pass release that's what we're doing

Firstly we wanted to increase amount of T0s over time in a autodrone run but it just didnt feel right, I think this will feel better since its hardly noticeable

It’s difficult to say now how traits will affect leviathan. We have a team of 8-9 illuvials on average on the board. Maybe 85 will be enough. That's why I didn't initially create maximum traits. 😅

The acquisition cost for illuvials has gone up by about 10x, so with fuel prices at where they were last couple of months you'll be fine on a cost basis

as far as i understand it in an eli5 manner so far:

• While the old fuel gets migrated into the new fuel a multiplier gets applied
• The multiplier is calculated with the bonus factor of the last week and a "difference from pegging to eth before and now pegging to usd"
  --> In numbers that would be roughly a 50 (bonus multiplier from last week) and a roughly 1.6 for the difference in the pegging, which results in a multiplier of roughly 88.8
• This means all fuel you had on your OW account + all fuel above 1k storage in IZ gets divided by 88.8.

What does this mean for you:

• If you bought fuel of the FEX with a bonus higher than 50x*1.6 you get some bonus fuel in terms of purchasing power
• If you bought fuel of the FEX with a bonus lower than 50x*1.6 you lose purchasing power

For example if you just bought fuel 1 time during the last week for exactly a bonus of 50x which cost you for simplicity sake 1.6$.
They delete your old fuel and buy you new fuel worth 1$

I'm not sure tho to be completely honest.
So far i haven't read any easy calculation example from officials.

Unfortunately though with this change, dividing that by 88.8, I won't even have enough for 4 T3 runs. Definitely sucks, but it is the risk I took getting so invested into the game.

That's part of why I'm worried about the future though, with that and other changes.

The funniest thing about this story is that when the game was officially released, I paid a fortune in fuel. So I don't worry, I'll make up for it now with the bonuses for season 3, but no, I'm still doing the worst things.

I'd suggest having a listen when you have the time, as it's a pretty extensive amount of information for the future of the game + some ecosystem changes...
but a TLDR: It's going through a fuel redesign, and some other changes like illuvial spawn rates, some things like shards, essences, ingots etc becoming personal items, not NFT's and basically a ton of changes.
it should be open in the next 1-2 weeks once testing is finished, and there will of course be a #📣〕announcements once it's up again

A lot of the ecosystem is shifting though, so if you're planning on playing long-term, the AMA/town halls from recent are worth a listen

ok here's my first impressions on ADR:

• Don't like the drum sound when clicking cards.
• The rarity border needs improvement. Simply making it by tier is somewhat disappointing. A phyri and a scoriox shouldn't both be orange just because they're T4. Or at least have different degrees of the same colour. Although you have both T3's and T5's using purple...

yeah... I gotta say I'm not really a fan of this. Too much shininess for no apparent reason. When everything is shinny then you leave no space for something that's actually rare to be noticed and exciting to click. I get that you guys want to make the pack opening feel appealing but this isn't appealing me at all. Just my 0.02.

As a comparison, the Beyond opening experience is way better because you actually know when you get a red border it's something that's rare. In ADR you just copied the border concept without really grasping what makes it good.

If it was me designing this I would attribute the border colours based on the TPI and the illuvial's stage instead of simply the illuvial tier. E.g. the top vermillia would have a blue border and the bottom vermillia would have an orange border. And if instead of a vermillia it was a vermilliare with a 92 TPI it would be an over the top orange border.
Not to mention that the illuvials already appear ordered by tier, so I don't see why you would slam border rarity based on tier on top of it...

not to mention the pricing, which is completely overpriced once again. It's hard for me to understand how you guys still don't get this. An ADR isn't like buying a pack of cards. When you buy a pack of cards, you own the card and you play with it in the card game, meaning you only need one copy. In our case, owning an Illuvial means nothing. There's no ownership involved, at least for now. What drives replayability is actually the stats. I don't get how this isn't obvious. These ADRs, along with Overworld costs, need to be way, way cheaper.

I'll say it again. Comparing ADR with a card game is nonsense. When you get a pikachu you own that card, you can play with it and there's not a better version pikachu they're all the same. When you get an atlas from ADR that atlas having a TPI of 10 or 100 is a huge difference.
