Stage 2 feels like and absolute scam. It's 3x the price of a stage 1 run and yet it still drops the same creatures. 95% tier 1 illuvials and the rest is useless. I'm seeing the 4th Lura and 5th Lynx and I haven't event went a full circle on the map.

I have explored about 10% of the map, but I already found the 2nd holo Rota. How does this work? If I found one can it reappear at another spot of the map or it's 2 different? It doesn't feel realistic that I found 2 different holo Rotas in such a small area. I feels like the same 10-15 illuvials are rotating around the map based on where you go and what you explore. It's really bad if this is the case

That's correct. If it escapes while you're chasing it, it will respawn elsewhere. Once you get it into a Singularity (the blue bubble), then it's off the map for good

Also there should be a chance (10%? 20%?) that the illuvial disappears and a different spawns back

I just found that holo Rota the 4th time. Still haven't explored half of the map

I got too many good illuvials in Stage 2, i got mahmut and phorus and many other T3S3 and T4S3S2. But when i rerun then saw a lot of T1 in the map, I'll switch to Stage3 run again.

The same holo Rota is found the 5th time. I think we could agree that this is not how this should work. It absolutely takes the chance to find any new illuvial. Also this indicates that when a map is loaded and the player is spawned, there isn't a unique illuvial at the usual places. When the player goes to an area the illuvials appear and then they reappear at the new places where the player goes. So there are about 50-60 illuvial spawning places on the map, but realistically we see only 10-15 different illuvials in a run which is nonsense

so don't spook it, and it'll stay where it is 🙂 Or shoot it and leave it in the bubble. Part of the issue is that we have a much higher density of Illuvials than we used to, so when something moves there aren't a whole lot of open spots for it to move to. The alternative is having the map be much more empty, which was a complaint that we had a lot in earlier versions. But you're not being "robbed" of anything, all the Illuvials that initially spawned on the map are still there for you to find. And some people might appreciate a second (and third, and fourth...) chance at hunting a rare one that got away
But if you want to make a suggestion on changing the game mechanics, you're welcome to start a feedback thread

So the original intent is to not have more than 10-15 different illuvials on the map. I'm sad to hear this. I think this number should be elevated a bit. There is a huge gap currently between a stage 1 and 2 run in terms of return of investment. Stage 2 is much more of a gamble due to low number of illuvials

All the encounters are set when you enter the region. You don't get new ones spawned when old ones leave, so it's not like anything is "taking spots" from something else. The ones you fail to trap just move to a new location, that's all. If you had enough patience (and ringnuts) you could clear every encounter on the map

ringnuts are for your illuvials. it recharges your illuvials integrity.

your illuvials, after fighting encounters, drains its integrity. once integrity gets too low, illuvials will have debuffs.

so you use ringnuts to recharge integrity, avoiding debuffs

oh, not sure if you are already aware, but you can recharge your energy thru.. hmm, i forgot the specific term. but its ___ rift. Once your energy goes down to 150 (not sure) it will activate. you go near that rift and it will recharge/add some energy.

"Ergon" is the word you're looking for 😉 Ergon energy is what you use for doing stuff in the regions (not to be confused with Kinetic energy, which is the rechargeable one that powers your equipment). You know, because have 3 different fuel types isn't confusing enough 😆

If you found them on the ground, they're not xenoprints. Xenoprints are discovered after capturing Illuvials. Only 3 have been minted so far, and by 3 different wallets, so I'm guessing they're not yours.
The ones you find on the ground are Kol logs, or something like that (can't remember the name exactly). Those don't get minted

I think one of the reasons we cant do that is that we'd need you (the player) to sign a transaction to perform the buy. Immutable's SDK doesn't support it (for good reason I might add -> player protection). We are however, making it easier for you to access the illuvidex whilst in game 🙂

learning the movement mechanics can help a ton with shooting illuvials.
also you might have overseen that you have a drone ability (F) and a weapon ability (G) which helps a ton aswell in hunting illuvials.

Also using the heatmap, hit M to open the map and hit H to activiate the heatmap, reduces your travel time by a lot.

I just picked the homing projectiles and drone lockdown ability and haven't really had a problem shooting them with my boomer reflexes

Beside 3D models , I think the whole forging, fusing and inventory UIs are unintuitive and need reworking. Can't say anything more specific right now other than to look upon the menus of games like Subnautica, Diablo 4, Elden Ring and any other famous rpg games. I know this isn't helpful kind of feedback, but to me as a casual gamer who plays this game for fun this is where the games mostly falls short compared to others.

hilde is a good drone choice to make it even easier than just pick one of the other 2.

I've seen at the gamescom 7 year old kiddies shooting them without using drone or weapon ability, playing the game for the first time. So i guess the difficutly isn't set too high.
With the overworld battle implemented it's anyways a completely different experience, you might like that more than what it is now.

For me it takes barely 5 seconds to stop any illuvial.

I use sword and hilde which imo is broken:

Jump next to the illuvial, press F -> the illuvial will be held in place in a cube and get 40% more damage from shots.
Press G the moment the cube is formed and the illuvial is held in place. Press your mouse button like a crazy person while aiming at the locked-in-place illuvial.

If you hit all your shots during the cube duration you have dealt about 3/4 bars in damage in a stage 3 run. Stage 1 and 2 would be 4/4 with ease.

Very fair. If you cant enjoy one part due to the difficulty changing in the game, that can be annoying.

I hope this strat works for you though! Other people use the gauntlet weapon that again locks the illuvial in place. It requires more clicking because your shots arent stronger due to the sword, but since you can then lock the illuvial in place 4x, the chase becomes pretty easy (the illuvial runs around for 40~ seconds and you have 30 seconds cooldown)

Note that the sword also allows you to shoot indefinitely. If you are on an open field and you first start off with shooting regularly, then press G before the gun overheats then you dont get the cooldown period for shooting too much! :] it's the minor things you probably wont need lol

They are different augments for your gun. If you equip a sword in your inventory screen -> drag a weapon to the little box next to your ranger [Weapon] slot.

Then you can press G and gain a limited powerup for your gun. Your gun will deal like 7x damage for 10 seconds but shoot slower and in red. The shots will even home a little bit making hitting easier!

So if you hit everything because the enemy is held in place, and deal 40% extra damage, you deal about 10x as much damage and will see the bar shoot up like crazy

I have spent 700+ hours in the game, and I think it's awesome. It's not for everyone, but it's all built around a great in-depth pvp strategy game, a killer movement system once mastered, well designed Illuvials that have real value, and beautiful graphics when played on Nvidia GPUs. There is lots of planned upcoming content too including Overworld combat where the Illuvials fight back and Co-Op multiplayer.

Plenty of people here are negative and asking for changes/improvements--it's not as much of an echo chamber as you think. In fact, the team has implemented many of these changes and improvements already--and they will continue to do so.

Maybe try the game out and comeback when you have something constructive to say?

You can use the Heidi drone + equip a sword in the weapon slot to stop the Illuvial from moving and burst it down in about 5-6 seconds.

Hey man, I hear ya. Comparing OW now to what it was back in PB2 is almost a completely different game. A lot of decisions were made to pick up the pace and try to make things more fun than just parking at a rock and mining it over and over again. And I too hated the Illuvial hunting when we first started testing it internally, but it's not so bad once you learn the tricks. Then again, I mostly hang out in S0 when I play, so I don't know if I'd be any good at hunting the higher-tier ones either...

Totally understand if you don't like the game in its current state. TBH I'm not much for grindy games either, so I rarely play it outside of work. But we are starting to incorporate things that are more than just grind, like that "long, boring" intro video and tutorial which is the beginning of a storyline that will be carried through factions and quests and all that typical MMO stuff. So have a little patience and hopefully it will get a lot more interesting soon 🙂

It depends on how you view that price. It will take some time to craft one, you first have to get other shards to break down. And you need a lot.

Time vs cost, and it's up to you to determine what makes the most sense for you

You could also try to play the market. I have not done the math, but maybe buy lower tier shards, then break them down to craft one (if the cost of doing that makes sense for the goin price of the master shards)

I also don't know how fast they are selling.

There are two general issues here, both kinda related to IMX. One is a bug that causes tokens not to burn, so crafting gets stuck there. Restarting the game usually fixes that. The other is that we got swarmed by bots a while back which created a huge backlog for minting items that I think IMX is still working through but should be getting towards the end by now. That caused a secondary effect of getting the Illuvidex out of sync so it didn't always know when things had finished minting and still shows them as in progress even when they aren't. We have a process running to get that fixed up but I don't know the status on that

The concerning thing about this is that in the not to distant future we are expecting the player base to grow quite rapidly.
If an influx of bots can grind minting down to a complete holt, how could we ever handle a large player base of say 100k dau's for example?

Why is IMX so easily overwhelmed and is the issue even able to be resolved, because it is beginning to look like a fundamental flaw rather than a bug.

I don't entirely disagree there 🙂 Early versions of OW had no blockchain integration yet and ran just fine, but Illuvium was envisioned from the ground up as something that should appeal to both web2 and web3 audiences. Part of the problem is that some things are NFTs that shouldn't be - we'd really love to make things like shards and essences use ERC-1155 and act more like currency (fungible tokens) than distinct items. But we're still waiting for IMX to support that. And there's some talk about removing more items from the blockchain altogether (does anyone actually trade raw shards?)
So we are aware that there are problems, and we're doing what we can to fix them. It's just that a new studio of 100-something folks building 3 games in 3 years is a hugely ambitious undertaking and there are still going to be some rough edges. No one's claiming that this is a complete and polished game yet.

If you're not seeing popups, you might check that you have popup blockers, and ad blockers, and tracker blockers, and all those other blockers disabled for Illuvium

equipping it on your ranger will give you a special ability when you're shooting the Illuvials, having one in your deck means you can use it in the autobattle fight. So if you have two, might as well take them both

right, I misread that 🙂 Yeah, in stage 0 your gear in the autobattle doesn't really matter so much, so it's better to equip it on the Ranger so it's easier to get to the autobattle in the first place 🙂

Any changes you make to your team have 0 impact on the spawn chances. You can have 8 atippo's or 8 rhamphyres and there will be no impact.

nope, no gaming the system 😛

well, the one variable is the stage of travel - higher stage regions typically have better spawns
And different affinities tend to spawn in different regions, e.g. mostly fire & earth in Crimson Waste
So if you're hunting, say, a Rhamphy, then S1 Taiga Boreal is probably a poor choice of locations, whereas S3 Crimson Waste would greatly increase your odds

Just a quick update on Overworld. We have some new work in the pipeline that I think everyone will enjoy. Overworld has always been the game that connects you to the world, and tells you your place in it. Your Ranger is your identity, your drone and Illuvials should feel like part of your team. It should also be the case that other Rangers in the world are there to support you, have fun, and challenge you. The updates coming will enhance all of this and make the world less lonely.

It is coming in a structured way, meaning that it's not just one huge update, but we won't chunk it into too many pieces. There's also some work needed to support Arena (and distance Overworld from Arena too) but I'll keep you up to date with the progress.

Believe it or not I did actually get unlucky with those stats too. 5 of the 6 stats were covered off by 2 of my stage 2's, meaning 1/2 of the available stats resolved to the 1/3 rather than the 2/3.
Cant complain though, that's rng for you, still crazy good, especially for a dark holo.

11/18 chance that this would have been a perfect dark holo. So close yet so far away.
I'm determined to get one though 💪

for me, it will all depend on the illuvial that you will be able to capture. example, running in stage 1 for $1 more or less (+bonus, if you are lucky, you can get addt'l 100%) and you didnt catch a DH (very rare) or any good stats illuvial. then you'll use your energies most probably on ores.. at the end, that run is not profitable, because you weren't able to capture anything that of good value.
