realistically when inor ults u have a moment to grapple to narnia

some very bad terrain or some house

but usually he will be able to catch u so u only buy some time

he has pretty insane movement

so generally if u dont have ult that counters inor

u are basically dead

and not many ults counter him

the gameplay against him is basically same as against other transformers

just he has the best mobility out of all

u just need to recognize the attack animations to know the timing at which to dodge

vs good players i mix it up by doing empty jumps, weird angle attacks so it's harder to see animation etc.

it is because inor has recovery time on his attack animations

and in this time you can double jump grapple away or scale rush

i told u, enemy inors can't touch me in ult form, because i know this character and his attacks

u can perma kite him 1 on 1

he relies on his teammates to stagger for him

as fast as he is, every single action he can do is reactable, his V1 F being probably hardest to dodge

subtle animation and fast speed

problem is when i play against rivelia who knows what he is doing

its doomed

if i try jumping or scale rushing i just get imapled by spear throw

and die

after he is transformed, if u do a double jump or if u try to grapple away, or god forbid you double jump into grapple, and inor is not stunned/in recovery animations, you are asking "LOOK AT ME PLEASE KILL ME"

but i run into them all the time

half the time, my ult is just to help my team survive the enemy team's ults

and to turn it into a fight without ults for anyone

he is also relatively easy to kill in transformed state

a couple CC abilities and some focus attacks and he's dead

especially valda spears that increase damage taken

True means that something is guaranteed to land unless the person has a combo breaker. So for feria if you hit someone with her F2 you can follow up with a musket shot for example that they can’t dodge because they are still staggered from the F2 shot

i did not activate even once

and i played without combo breaker

and one time i was getting mega juggled by 2 ppl

in dreadful wail

i saw the purple sprint used just once

the rage path glyphs are crazy

This was my “as much rage as I can fit” Tessa page 😂 and I was ulting so often it was crazy

I know I could axe the stam and go red but honestly this was so much rage I feel like i don’t need more

I’m gonna try a purple/red page and see if I prefer that over the green. Old glyphs I usually took rage/dmg taken since the values were a higher % than rage/dmg dealt

but obviously the middle and final red nodes are also jam packed with rage which could easily offset or surpass the % difference

At the cost of the huge initial rate advantage ofc tho

you have a few options

there are characters that directly counter his ult with abilities

for example justina, shayol, valda, lannie, tianhai

outside of that, the moment he ults, you need to react and grapple/scale rush away to safety

and if you can't do that

spread out and get away from the rest of his team, so he has to fight you 1 on 1 because the worst thing you can do against inor is be grouped with your team

and then you do this to him

well for me that part came from playing inor

i know the timing of his attacks and how long his recovery animations are

where my friends panic and die to him, he can't touch me

so you might benefit from trying inor in practice and getting to know how his ult works

even if he marks you with lightning you are very safe unless you make a mistake

the rmb is slow, against good players i always need to play mindgames and fake them out to misdodge first before i can hit them

you need to make a mistake or get staggered by his teammate to get hit by it

like with tianhai grab

Kurumi is bad in solos only and mostly because she has a kit that relies on an ally

Overall you want to tether your ally whenever they are fighting; the choice on whether to heal or to teleport or to empower,.. is totally up to you after that

The most important skills to have and develop with this character are :

1. Staying alive when enemies chase you. A kurumi, as any support will get chased down on sight
2. Positioning and decision. You need to be able to position yourself in a way where you can be useful to your teammate and where your ultimate is in a good ground for them (basically where they are fighting)

Plus a few general things that work pretty much for any character

As to how to play kurumi, there are a few nice guides on how to play support I reckon. Even penemue's video on how positions for trios work explains a bit 👍👍

tether when you need to heal someone it's a situational ability that needs good timing

your link itself heals HP

and when you cancel the ability it heals extra bit of armor, or gives dmg reduction, both are situationally used at a correct timing, or you can jump to your teammate and combo break for them

u use what the situation demands

and your ult is just to keep your team alive when they're about to take too much damage

it rapidly regens your team's armor

though if you use it too late they'll die even while standing in it

and the ult can synergize with other elemental attacks

like tarka can turn the healing circle into a burning circle

common combo

but kurumi is an enabler

she keeps her team alive so they can do more of what they already do

she has almost no tools for herself

so your gameplay outside of using abilities needs to be good

a bad kurumi is just a free defenseless target

a good kurumi is someone hard to kill who makes her teammates hard to kill

she is really straightforward. her main focus is the ultimate which gives her a weapon that deals aoe dmg, possibly burn aswell, and that can't be parried

her downside is that she is a bit weak in chasing down opponents, but once she ults no one pretty much can fight her in a direct confrontation

cc is her enemy, but aside from that, she's quite strong at low levels of gameplay usually

till two seasons ago, she was part of one of the main comps for trios in professional gameplay. atm shes solid, but not for solos i'd say

the purple part is universally good for everyone

grapple distance and stamina recovery

chasing, moving around, running away and neutral

As for the dash into focus, you mean when you freeze someone?

Because when you dash into someone that's in a focus stance you will only stagger them briefly. This gives an opening to start a combo, but without the freeze you can't unleash a guaranteed focus attack

it's all about knowing timing

practice the timing for focus release, but more likely for combos, players generally know they need to hold blue to not get frozen

or practice double/infinite dashes

Honestly as a transformer it’s really up to your team to hold them down. If they start spam grappling/scale rushing away during your transformation animation there isn’t anything you can do by yourself. They just need to choose one person and hold them as best they can to provide stagger so you can land the grab or get on them

As yue or Inor you could try practicing your movement, I’ve never seen you play so I have no idea what your skill level is, but it’s the only thing you can really do on your own.

If you are using them in solo, then yeah you are doom as soon as they known how to deal with transformers because slow and and reactable attack while having not as good of movement as normal player

Tianhai you can somewhat time your projectile grab with your opponent grapple away but that is easier said than done due to people often cut line of sight before grapple

Zai struggles with transformers, ideally you want to kite out his ult and then re-engage with yours. If you ult before or at the same time as Inor he will just focus you and knock you out of your charged attacks

Zai is really hard to play in the current meta tbh. Transformers and characters like Kylin, Cyra hard counter her. You have to be really good at spacing and dodging since pretty much every ability in the game can knock Zai on her ass or CC her in her ult, and Zai ult doesn’t offer any added survivability like other ults do (Kylin mortal defiance, Cyra healing or additional healthbar depending on V variation, transformer full health reset, etc)

aim up against people who jump to punish them

note that the big burn cannot be aimed up

if you play the damage F, find yourself a matari teammate and save your third F for escaping as a soft combo breaker (you have at least 3 Fs per fight, 1 from the start, 1 from matari ult refresh, 1 from your ult refresh)

In team modes F2 is valued more than F1. Zai is what we call position 1, she is an aggressive character usually first into the fight. F2 allows her to be very aggressive since you can reset it by ulting as well to really stick to someone. It also applies burn which is useful in cutting healing from characters like Ziping

F1 is really only played in solos, where you don’t have teammates to peel for you.

hadi is probably still playable in solos, it's just not that fun because most people enjoyed healing in air

and you can't do that anymore

hadi is currently played in NBPL trio comps though

he is a good character there

his cube can trade with viper ult and he also generates survivability against inor

viper and inor are currently the biggest concerns in trios, and hadi can deal with both

so if anyone tells you that hadi is a bad character in trios, they are probably uninformed

people tend to overreact to nerfs

hadi went from being SSS+ to A tier in trios

he is still better than a lot of other characters

you don't have to play him much to know how to use him, good players have a broad champion pool and understand the game on a level where they don't have to play a character much to use him well

if you know what to do at any time because you've observed enemies and teammates, you can pick up a new character within a few days

only some characters have a really high skill ceiling

for example, it's very difficult to play viper, feria, monk, takeda and kurumi well, even though it's easy to figure out the basics

these characters are either very unique or constantly targeted by every enemy, or both

i'm not including characters that aren't played in trios here

I usually play Temulch, and it was mostly in an open area, there are trees, but sometimes I'm fighting his Duo and suddenly I find myself trapped in a loop of stuns unable to break free at all, I find it annoying

Let me say this, v1 grants you 3 combo breakers/combo starters/combo extenders after activated, you can use it however you want. V2 gives you a single attack that is reactable, avoidable and when hit, deals dmg equal to a katana blue focus.

V2 for Takeda is considered as the biggest noob bait due to flashy yet useless compare to his other V

For Matari, what is the best setup for glyphs, ability, and Ult? I mostly play duos and trios.

I've been trying to save her ult for scenarios when I have to escape (like wuchen teleport for reset), rather than to do damage, but I feel like I'm missing lots of value and don't get to use it often. For her ability, I'm using the double blink one right now, but I don't feel like it adds too much to the gameplay for me.

Any help would be nice 🙂

Most character can make use of the default glyphs. As for Matari, you said you are playing mostly duos and trios, you might want to bring V1 to counter Viper's V, you are using her F1 which usually not helping in team mode, F1 is usually used in combination with her V in solo to extend comes mostly, F2 can be charged to knock back enemies and save your teammates when they got jumped.
These comes from my experience, at the same time I have not played Matari for a while so I might be a bit misinformed, some other might provided better insight than me but I hope this help.

I think xuhuan’s F1 great for escape upwards. I can’t seem to land the attack consistently after the enemy head bonk though. Any ideas how to hit the enemy better with the F after the head bonk?

Picking a meta character and meta weapon will not really help you when you are just started. You will get filled with bots a lot in the beginning, every weapon, every character will feel broken, but there will be a point you will match against good player who will make any weapon, any character seems useless. My advise is to have fun and find character, weapon that you enjoy playing instead of going for the meta choice

Long story short, if your teammate disconnects during the match, there is a small chance that someone else has the same problem. If both of you get the alliance thing, you will be made into a new team 👍
