Taxis and t6 shooters

So they kinda serve different purposes. The t6 troops are cheap to train a lot of and will provide some decent defensive strength. The taxis are the cheapest to train and heal and wont do much for defensive strength, but they are great for absorbing casualties.

All your wounded get divided proportionally to your different troops. So for example if you have 4m taxis and 1m fighters and you take 1m wounded in a battle then it will be 200k fighters and 800k taxis wounded.

So having a bunch of taxis basically allows more normal troops to survive at the expense of a weaker overall defense than if you used a different troop instead

So you get a pretty decent defense for relatively cheap. T12 are much better but also much more expensive to train a ton of

• For each battle you ever engage in, the damage incurred to your troops will be a set % that is applied to every tier and troop type deployed (depending on variables such as formations, tier, stats, etc).
• Your wall’s max cap will automatically fill with whatever you have if you don’t have enough troops (in order based on the formation your wall is set in).
• There is no tier choice for your wall setup, just troop type choice. So the order is automatically from lowest tier to highest.
• Research formations for the troop type you want to choose on your wall.
• Order of fight/casualties is based on the formation you set.
• If you have a strong secondary, put your secondary troop as type on your wall if you are engaging in offense.
• Put your primary troop type up as wall troop type while offense is in idle, or just permanently set up your primary troop type if you only have one focus.
• Do not have very low tiered units of your wall’s main troop type (e.g. if your wall is rider main in rider formations, do not own t1 riders). Because lower tiers of your main troop type will be at the forefront of battles based on the formations you chose, those lower tiers will suffer higher rates of damage. That larger set of low-tier damage will calculate automatically into the spread of casualty % to all troop tiers and types engaged in battle.
• Research revenge of the main troop tier(s) on your wall’s front line. it is the key to defense against monster players.
• A wall max’d with your highest-tiered focus troop type in matching formation is the strongest wall.

• From your explanation I understand the higher tier of the main troop type is the better and would be on the frontline.
• I also remember the radio quizz game taught us that the order of units loss is Fighter > Rider > Shooter > Vehicle, which matches the order of lines we see in animated fights (such as in Ruins).
• I guess researching and changing formations allows to put riders or shooters on the front line.

Based on these elements, I don’t get why are people using lots of taxis, since

1. they won’t be in frontline to tank damages because there is no vehicle formation for that
2. we don’t want them on the frontline because their poor defense will cause a high % of casualty that will spread to expensive units
3. They are the last troop type to die based on the quizz (which seems to be incompatible with the idea of the spread of equal % of casualty to all troop types & tiers?)

losses are calculated on the defensive stats of the most front standing troops and then spread perportionally over all the troops in the fight

with 1 caveat... if the total losses are more than the most front standing troops then the losses after that is calculated on the 2nd troops in line

this is from clash where a much stronger rider attacked my hq29 mini if there were only t9 shooters on the wall then all 877k losses would have been t9 shooters

but now since there are way more taxis they soak up the losses
this brings down my might loss quite a bit and taxis are cheap to train

so even though he killed way more of my troops than I did of his he only killed a small % of my maxed 13m hq 29 wall 66% vs 7% he would have to hit it a lot of times to make it burn

I understand that the the fight happens in (at least 2 phases):

1. Based on all of the stats, especially the T9 shooter stats you put in front line, it is computed that you should suffer 877K casualties.
2. Those 877K are spread on all of your troop types & tiers respecting the ratio of present troops. Since you start the fight with a ratio of approx 5 taxis per T9 shooter, you get the same ratio of casualties between both groups.

I understand your T9 shooters in frontline have been efficient because there are the higher tier you could, and if you happened to have T1 shooters at home AND taking part in the battle, they would be part of the computation while being too fragile, because you cannot chose the tier order with formations, only troop type order.

For this negative effect of the presence of T1 shooter, you’d need to have them present AND having not enough T9 to fill the wall capacity, which is 14M troops for Wall29 = T1 shooters present and less than 14M T9 shooters would have been a worse fight for you.

And I suppose the 14M troops cap of the wall means that if you had 14M T9 fighters, the taxis would not take part to the battle and they would not soak up the losses.

Is that correct? If so, I guess I now understand that the key takeaway from this is: the optimal while being the least expensive defense is a mix of the highest tier of the main troop type and way more taxis, while having the main troops in front line, secondary on the second line, and no lower tier of main (and possibly no lower tier of secondary if main has so much loss that secondary must fight). And I’d understand why!

once you get a full wall you can set this up in the settings, you have to set it up right though as it will allow you to make setups that your troop quantities wont allow

if the available troops won't allow for the setup you made then it fills it however it can
I don't have enough data on how it fills it to know what the method is at that point

that setup helps you keep the t1 of your main tipe off your wall, as long as I have more than 30% of 19m (5.7m) shooters at high tier then lower tier shooters wont be on my wall

this can also help you get other troop tipes off your wall if you don't have formations for instance a hq 24 nuka account that is a main rider can set fighters to 0% if he has enough other troops

so having way more troops than your wall can hold and having the right setup can make it so even though you are taking huge hits your defense stays as strong as it can be

more high tier troops of your main tipe will make it so you can defend against a stronger enemy and make you kill more of the troops you are being attacked with, for instance once T14 come out I will probably need to make the % of shooters on my wall higher so I don't burn in 1 hit when a big hits me in valiant

1. the formations and tiers will detirmine which troops stand in front
2. the total losses are based on the front standing troops
3. the heroes of the rally starter provide tactical skills

so when I do HM I utilise this trick
if I send 10k lower tier shooters in this case t8 then t9+ shooters can join safely as long as the total casualties are not higher than 10k

so for lairs if someone starts a lair with 1 car and the correct heroes to provide you with the same tactical skills as your main march would

then you joining with your main march should get the same results as if you had started it yourself

this trick was especially usefull to me as a shooter main because others starting for me in hm don't always have formations researched so using the default fighter formation only higher tier shooters or cars could join full

the casualties when I don't use this t8 trick is 1.8k before nova(no shooters joining)

so it does give quite a bit more casualties but enables 5 lairs at a time for my hunt mastery

I should add that those rallies are then shooter only rallies no riders or fighters allowed so me sending the lowest tier shooters puts mine in the front

if someone were to send rigders or fighters they would stand in front according to formations

in the case of lairs all the troops in the rally can be considered as "on the wall"

higher troopload means you carry more rss per troop when gathering or looting other HQs
mostly effective when gathering in alliance mill or looting in valiant

First Aid should beused before you are about to take perma losses in a battle so attacking a HQ from the same state or attacking in WK
to make more of the troops go to the infirmary and less of them die outright

troops go into deep healing but come back after time
