I am hoping that someone may be able to help me resolve my issue. So after the latest updates on Ark, I loaded into my server and have lost all of my inventory. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled the mods on Xbox side and still had the same issue. My character, who I am sure was asleep in her bed, is also now glitched into the foundation of my base. I did a back up restore and now am getting the unknown error every time I try to join.

The ASE method (yknow, the whole page dedicated to it...) doesn't work in ASA, it only accepts the dropdown box in general settings. Are you using that?

You could increase the increments for crafting skill, so they can make themselves faster by leveling it, but keep in mind that will also increase the buff to their blueprints and can result in OP loot depending on what you're going for. Any other crafting speed increases would come from mods

Well I've been trying to set up a simple ASA dedicated server on TheIsland_WP on a new machine with a fresh windows 11 install and fresh ASA dedicated server install from SteamCMD (tried reinstalling everything a couple of times), no matter the args I put in a .bat file (verified that they are right like 50 times) the server will stay stuck on ticking loop forever with yellow light next to status. The last log shown is the number of cores. The server is set up exactly the same as on my last machine (was a fresh install of windows 11 on the same day as the new one. Just a slower machine with less ram and cpu), firewalls are set up exactly the same as well, windows versions are the same and all. On the older machine it works flawlessly. On the new one it never worked. Can't find out why. The one on my older machine I started just now and starts up fine and I can join from the game. Also tries on the new machine just before and again stays stuck on ticking loop. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Does anyone know what would cause an original Xbox one to be unable to host a Dedicated Server on certain maps (Gen 1, 2, and Fjordur)? The option doesn’t even appear though it’s present for other maps. Is it a hardware limitation and it simply wont allow it or what? I know an Xbox s is able to host a Dedicated Fjordur. Any help or insight would be appreciated.

I'm changing several ARKSE servers on Windows, launched using ArkServerManager.
After the update, many dinos disappeared, and on some maps, characters disappear.
I replaced the game client with Preaquatica, but what should I do with the server? How can I return it to the state before the update so that I can roll back the progress to the one in the backup and play normally without the consequences of buggy updates?

For those with broken Linux dedicated servers, this worked for me. You will need to roll back your client (Game) side to the beta branch as well following the instructions @olive talon🌈 shared.

I use arkmanager and so I backed up my saved data on the servers and did a fresh install / download of the beta ASE. If you run mods, you will need to reinstall the mods as well and then copy the Saved data back to the fresh install location before starting up your maps again.

Using SteamCMD
Steam> login anonymous
Steam> app_update 376030 -beta preaquatica validate
Steam> exit

Using arkmanager

Keep old install with Saved data
mv ~/ARK ~/ARK.bak

Redownload the beta ASE
arkmanager install --beta=preaquatica --force

Mod install
arkmanager installmods

Copy Saved data back to new install
cp -R ~/ARK.bak/ShooterGame/Saved ~/ARK/ShooterGame/

Start the maps up again
arkmanager start map_name

Note - Disable Auto Updates to prevent the server from downloading the broken update again

Then i thought it was the Castles, Keeps, and Forts mod, removed it. Removed the Visual Storage mod that the ammonite bile jar belonged to, now its saying 'unable to place JVH Giant Mushroom 4'
I have not had issues with JVH Landscaping, or Visual Storage, or RRMedievalRPDeco mods before, i cant figure out what is messing up the item placing.

Do this in console cheat RedownloadModsOnServerRestart and restart the server to have it redownload them all, normally it's a corrupted mod install that makes an item change to something else when going to place it

Our argies breed at a decent time but the deino and wyverns is like 15 mins and when it comes to wyverns im using these eggs for kibble and id like it to go a bit faster as our base can’t accommodate for me to have multiple fem wyverns out while im building

So we found a wonderful bug here, the highest player on our unofficial cluster is crashing when collecting too much berries like with a highlevel stego, its also with meat and other stuff.. the server is only 5x tho, he is lvl 107 at max XP cap, and has the telekinesis skill.. did anyone encounter something similar?

I had to change back to 358.24 to be able to run my original maps. You can do the same thing by clicking on the gear icon in steam, select properties and going to betas and selecting preaquatica. It will rollback to a working edition.

Now, everything works like it did before Aquatica released.

Okay, so I think I've narrowed down Club Ark to a map issue. I changed the map name to TheIsland_WP and it boots up no problem. If I try to boot it up with BobsMissions_WP it crashes when the map goes to load.

For ASA, you do need to port forward, but only the Game Port and RCON port. In ASE you needed the game, peer, query, and rcon

Hi everyone, having an issue where whenever someone transfers between maps on our cluster, they are taken to the "create character" screen and have to make a new one (can't even download old character, it just doesn't exist anymore). Any ideas on how to fix this?

Cuddle Interval: 8 hours / 16 = 30min (1/16=0.0625)
Mating interval 18-48 hours / 36 = 30-80 minutes (1 / 36 = 0.0278)

I haven't tested these settings, so they may not be exactly 30 minutes.
But it'll get you close.

Hi all, I'm a bit lost with the specs for a small cluster, my head is going in circles atm, maybe someone can help me out.

I want to set up an ASA cluster for a group of friends and I struggle with the choice of a rootserver. In the wiki it says " it is recommended to have 4 logical cores per server instance, with single-thread performance still being preferred over having more cores (gameplay with the exception of physics still runs on a single thread)"

So if we wanted to run 5 maps, we'd need 20 cores - or are 20 threads enough? How are your server specs?

(Can't copy a screenshot here, but I was looking at an i5 - 13500 with 14 cores/20 threads, 128 GM RAM, 2x 512 GB NVMe SSD + 1x 1 TB NVMe SSD)

it all depends how spread out the people will be. if you're all on the same map...you don't need as much. you can run only the map you're currently playing and spin up the others as needed. if you spread out, you'll need more to cover the load. If not spreading out, I would plan for running up to 3 maps at the same time. you'll probably only be on 2 at once, so then you'll have extra overhead.

I've never had more than 5 playing on my cluster, but usually it's just me. I get by with 28 threads (2x E5-2697 v2, 384GB of DDR3, the other threads and memory are for other network services not for gaming) serving up to 9 maps on ASA...was 12 maps on ASE, had more playing together on ASE. Right now it's just me on Ragnarok...my other servers stay offline until I need them. Offline maps consume no resources...so just plan for what you will run concurrently.

If you get lag throw more threads at it. As more people play the memory requirements go up.

I think the suggestion is to change your client (steam) so you are on the non aquatica branch. They made a post in #announcements that goes to the discord for ASE as this is all intended for ASA.

You have to opt-in to a beta program then select the non-aquatica branch in steam. I think there are instructions in the other server or a link to a doc on it.

In theory, yes. If you have enough harddrive space it would probably be a good idea to copy your ark folder to back everything up.

I'm currently experiencing the following problem on a private ARK server. Almost every time I transfer from one map in the server cluster to another, stack items double in size. So, for example, 100 fibers become 200 fibers.

I haven't been able to find a solution with the server admin. He uses a really powerful ROG gaming PC, the game runs perfectly on him, and he barely has any loading times. I, on the other hand, have to wait a bit longer. I'm not synced with the server at the beginning, and I get duplicate items during this time.

How can he prevent this exploit from being used by me and other players?

Just set rag as the map in beacon and it gives you all the correct drops, Rag uses the island drops too.

Been having an issue on our ASA cluster with characters not showing up for download when doing transfers off of Rag. Noticed it happening last week, then suddenly started working again on Sunday...and then hasn't been working all week including post update.
The other maps are visible, and the transfer acts normally showing beds available...but upon choosing a location it just goes to the create character screen with the subsequent download screen being completely empty.
I noticed that at least one person seemed to be having this issue on ASE recently, but haven't seen any mention of this being a thing on ASA.
If anyone has run into this and solved for it before, we would appreciate suggestions.

Just make sure to select the preaquatica beta branch in steam as well as in Server Details. There's a detailed explanation on how to do this in the Ark Aquatica discord.

Remember to add the game port + 1 in your router for every map that you plan to run. So if you assign 7777 for the game port remember to also add 7778. And if it's evolved, you've got to add a query port as well.

You have to have access to your router. Normally, it's done with a web browser, I think. I didn't actually have to do it for mine; my son-in-law took care of it for me.

I gave him a list of ports that I wanted to have opened, and he logged into his router and took care of it for me. Sorry I can't be of anymore help.

Start by setting a static IP on you computer (server). Then access your router and find where the port forwarding is setup. It's different for every router. Once you find it there should be a place to put in the IP for your server and the port to forward. You can usually use the same for internal/external. For ASA you just need the game port (default is 7777), and if you intend to use RCON, then the RCON port too. It may take some googling

We're having an issue with transferring our (me and four other friends) non-dedicated server to a dedicated server. One of my friends, @spiral cove , has the server set up, running, and the map loaded, but their characters aren't there. My character is there, since I hosted the non-dedicated server, but everyone else has to make a new character. Your servers all need to join a cluster. I don't know if that is possible with a single-player server but you can copy your server data over and run it dedicated as part of the cluster while you transfer. Then you can shut down the non-dedicated.

You will need a ClusterID and shared storage that all servers can access. That might not be so easy if you don't have some technical skills but ideally you would all temp mount a point on the remote server that is now dedicated to your non-dedicated. Once you transfer you would not need it mounted anymore.

i'll assume this is steam. go into the saved folder and find the folder for whatever map you all were on for your non-dedi session. there will be .arkprofile files in there and there should be one for each player. take them and move them to the dedicated server save folder. fyi, i've only done this for sp to dedicated so i'm just assuming non-dedi works the same

I turned the "Crop Growth Speed" multiplier wayyyy up and it makes the crop grow super fast but produces the vegatables soooooo slow still. Is there something I am missing?

Thye are probably embeded in the map file then. That was a change made a while ago.
If that is true, the only easy way to move them would be to do what I suggested. Setup a cluster with a proper ClusterID, shared storage to the new dedicated server then log into the non-dedicated and initiate a transfer from the non-dedicated to the dedicated.

Has anyone had any luck controlling the cave overspawns? Specifically meganeura and megalodon on the island. I can replace or remove the spawns sure, but no luck trying to keep them under control via weights. After a while there's tens of thousands of meganeura forcing dino wipes to solve it temporarily.

It can do shutdown but it can't do broadcast or destroywilddinos. Doesn't make sense.

Broadcast is broken for RCON afaik. But destroywildinos works with the script I use, as well as DoExit, ServerChat, etc

Yo peeps, so me and some friends are playing on a private server and I just noticed something strange can someone tell me if this is fine or if I messed up a setting somewhere

I have been mutating griffins and the mutation levels seems to be giving a lot less stats ...

The 2 mutation levels gave me like 25 extra stam (which is very low) but then 1 level I put in manually pushes it up almost 50 stam

I have a Male with 28 Mutation Levels into Stam and it has 1012.5 Stam
Then I have a Male with 2 Mutation Levels into Stam and and 30 Manually added Levels (so theoretically 4 level difference) but has 2016 Stam

So I basically don't think its super worth it if they give that much less of a stat per mutation to go through all the effort of mutating 😰

You could probably get a lot more ram on the Xeons so I almost think if you can get them for cheapish it might be worth it, they seem pretty fast enough

I just run a mainstream board and just bought a Ryzen 9 5950x (16c32t) for the server

but that being said that CPU just cost me $295 (converted from ZAR) for just the CPU

I mean, technically it wouldn’t have to be ECC for game server purposes. I back the save files up hourly to a NAS since the beginning of time. And 2600 RAM should be cheap. I haven’t been able to find a matching kit for mor 3200 though…so…

I run my servers off Linux VMs with 2 cores and 20gb ram and haven't had any issues with 3 people on the same map at same time 🤣

That’s what the plan for 12700K. Microcenter bundle. I got 128GB in it. It also is used for inference on the GPU end. I run 2x Intel Arc A770s in it.

The servers on ASA kinda behave like they did on ASE. They balloon up to 10GB each (except for Club which stays really small) and then settle back down to 3-6GB each.

I currently have a Ryzen 5 3500 (6 core no threads) and it manages fine, I have a bunch of dockers also running on unraid and its only ever once been an issue and thats cause my server is also a media server
