Incorrect. Cosmetics mods made early in ASA have to be installed to the server. Cliffans even still has one that's a server side install so them being client side only is not universally true.

if you can access the Saved Ark folder, you can delete their character profile. EOS ID.arkprofile + the bak file. Nitrado might have a section to do it a bit easier. I self-host so I do it the manual way

I Use Admin panel and it gives me the EOS ID of each player (a PAIN to try to copy, a screenshot will work).

deleting the profile tells that particular srver that this player ID has never been there, so it resets. But admin has commands that can return levels and engrams. and hopefully with a good backup, stuff is still there along with tames. I had a nasty bug on my Island map where I had to remake my character every login bc I had to delete the player profile to even log in. I got very good at getting back my stuff

I’ve been searching the internet for hours and cannot find a good answer: has anyone been having problems with babies not maturing while no one is logged into the server? Nitrado dedicated server.

Recurring problem for the past couple of days, will log out for the night expecting babies to be fully raised when I wake up, and they are left at the point I logged off at. Fine. Go to work, come home at lunch, raised to 50%. Go back to work, come home, 50%.

The unable to join issue that was posted in the status updates - my servers are experiencing this issue, no one outside of the local network can join, but inside the network I can join the servers every time

i know there was some advice to delete your GUS.ini and let it regen it after the 5.5 update so you could try that see if it helps (this would be your client not server only afaik)

same reason a lot of other stuff (for instance: archelon on asa) doesn't spawn. (if you're talking about ragnarok)
spawns are borked at the moment, stuff underspawning/incomplete spawngroups/dinos under the mesh.. hopefully with the big patch that's coming today that'll also be fixed. (including the gigantoraptor, which was actually a voted creature specifically for ragnarok, and also MIA)

are you using a custom map? some mappers use their own spawngroup names instead of the vanilla ones
custom creature modders usually only add their dinos to the default spawngroups.
try and see if they spawn on "The Island". what helps is adding the mod "der dinofinder" to quickly check the entire map once dinos have had a chance to "seed".

if they spawn on the island, at least you'll know the mods work. after this it's a matter of figuring out the names of the spawngroups the mapper used, then google-ing the ini command to add a dino to a spawngroup

(all of the above only applies when using a custom mapmod)

I use Beacon to pull spawn containers and it specifies which spawn containers affect which maps (officials only). And also it'll add custom mod spawn containers from map mods if the mod is added to beacon

beacon's got a discord, but a couple of options: 1: go to the mods menu item, there will be two tabs. You will want the community tab. select the mods from the list, it automatically adds them to your project. 2: take your list of Mod IDs, go to the first tab in the sam mods area, and select discover mods. it'll pop up a box asking what game it's for, select ASA, then you can do server assisted mod discovery (will work great, I installed the ark dedicated server from steam and told beacon to use that location) or regular. Put in the list of Mod IDs, comma separated and let it run through the mod files

after that, you'll have the mod info included with the base game

If everybody joins at once/when the server is in their list, no problems! Runs as expected!
After about a minute, it'll reappear. So we've been dealing with it.
BUT... It gets annoying having everybody leave if someone crashes, so I'd suppose I'd try my luck asking 'ere

Anyone know wny the summer event isn't working? My self hosted servers crashed with this error when trying to apply the summer event:

The update can take hours to roll out. Just leave the servers offline and wait for the shit show to calm down or leave them rolling. Not every server gets the update immediately, it takes hours to roll it out to all the different server locations.

No problem. For every major update I always switch my servers off before it drops. Then wait and watch the chaos… then after a few hours I reboot… and just let them do their thing…They reboot 99% of the time with zero issues.
(Unless Wildcard broke something of course lol)

The issues you see are usually people that try to restart their servers or stop /start during the update process. That’s a very bad idea.

so me and a buddy switched from lost island to extinction and well we have one problem, we cant learn engrams from other maps, as an example I tried learning the Magmasaur saddle so we can use out magmasaur to farm metal but it says "Erlerne in Genesis" or translated its Learned on genesis, I really cannot be bothered to close down the local dedicated server and then load up genesis 1 just to learn it since every server startup takes about 5 minutes so does anyone know a way to well make it so I dont need to go to genesis or other dlc maps to learn engrams?

Hey all. Hope someone might be able to point me in the right direction because after a lot of google-fu I haven't found the answer. I have a dedicated server cluster and I recently added Club Ark to the cluster. It has the Dear Jane and Club ark in the mods, set to the same cluster as my other servers, and has the correct map. I have the prevent transfers set to False in the GUS.INI. People can transfer over to Club ark just fine, they can do the games and win the prizes. The prizes show up in the inventory after they win them. However, when they transfer back to the server they came from, no items show up in the terminal. What else could I be missing?

no i am self hosted. I understand the physics that your character isn't actually transferring, i figured that didn't need to be mentioned.

in the INI there are settings to prevent Items from leaving the server. the wiki and multiple things I found from google searching says that you want to be sure those flags are set to false in the club ark server in the GUS.ini, which is why i mentioned it.

yes, you can just copy your settings from ASE to ASA and they will 90% - 95% work. The only settings I had not work were some loot settings.

I'm trying to do a couple things, first, I am trying to make Deathworms spawn at level 5-150 instead of just level 1. This is the line I used:

In every case, this seems to simply remove the entire spawn container or in the case of the deathworm remove all deathworm spawns

@polar echo I found the player characters in the map file. I think I can still reset levels, its just a little bit more difficult. Also, the characters of me (tribe owner) and the other tribe admin seem to be repeated many times. I'll just reset all of them and see what happens.

Not sure you can spawn deathworms at a different level then 1, I was never able to do so in ASE at least.

Paddle Spino seems to be a moody mod, I have also had trouble making it spawn with my configs, it just doesn't work with NPCReplacements nor with SpawnEntries Add or Override, so I gave up on it.

I remember trying to change deathworms in ASE and tracking them with dino finder, but I remember they kept teleporting around and never emerging to attack me, might be the same in ASA, deathworms just don't want to obey us 😂

I tried spawning enemies above level 150 in ASA and they spawned at level 1, so I changed that and didn't try anymore.

If you've got two beds fairly close to one another, then fast travel from one to the other and it should leave a bag with all of your stuff. Then just pick and choose what you really need in your inventory and put the rest in storage.

Help pls, My friend has the game installed on an HDD (hard disk drive), and every time he tries to join a modded server, the game starts loading, his character even appears in the world briefly (I can see him wake up), but then he gets disconnected. It looks like the game is taking too long to load everything and times out before syncing properly.

I have a IT guy that coded the server and it has been working perfectly up until a few days ago. SO I'm guessing it's something to do with that but I don't know what it is as I don't do the back end IT stuff

That is my problem, he is uninterested and thinks it's going to hotfix itself as it's nothing we did. Being our own machine, we have to be the ones to fix it as it won't fix itself at this point

I want to move away from Nitrado to my own dedicated server hosted on my pc on windows. Ark ascended. I will be connecting to it via series x and want crossplay and clusters. Port forwarding shouldn’t be any kind of issue, nor hardware.

What I’m curious though, is anyone’s preferred set up process? Just go with steamcmd and command line the server stuff? Use ark ascended server creation tool? Arkdedicatedservermanager.eu, haruhost, arkasm.

Any tips/tricks, any to avoid? All would do the trick at the end of the day?

I am using AMP From Cube Coders to simplify it but if you are intending to host from a Windows PC and not Linux like I do then the server tool is pretty easy to use.

You will need to make sure you don't use any mods that are marked as PC only or the server will refuse to start if you have crossplay enabled.

Hello guys, I need your help in something and idk if its just my pc or the last updates really fucked up a bit the games performance and theyre not planning in making lower end pcs run the game at good fps. I have a RTX 3050 Ti laptop graphics card with 4GBs of GPU, I know this is at most at the bare minimum of having decent fps in the game and thats why I had a mod with a script of commands where I tweaked a lot of things and thanks to that I could manage to play on the Island at 60 fps and in bigger maps like the Center at 50 fps but with the UE 5.5 update this is almost impossible to me due to the fact that the game runs at like 40 fps on the island plus the fact that I need to reload all textures due to blurry map takes a ton of fps so I dont know if people with lower end pcs managed to find other ways to have stable fps or should I just go back to ASE.

you need to turn off or down some of the textures ie fog/clouds/ground clutter etc if you wanna run smoother. Or upgrade your PC. The game isnt very PC optimised i feel and im on a 9800X3D and a 4080 Super. and can get FPS like that also. Until i started playing on steam its better but max settings i still am only getting 100-120 fps with nothing turned off

Hi guys.

I started a server of my own recently. I have 5 players. 3 have steam on pc and 2 are on Xbox.
Myself and my husband have no issue (steam). The other 3 users keep having issues with mods placed on the server. Im using all cross platform, all say they are 5.5 ready.

Yesterday I added in a castle decor mod that one player and i both use on someone else's server no problem. They could all use it last night, now this morning they cant like other mods I've since removed like the rustic mod (which hurt we all loved that mod).

What can I do to help? Is there anything I can do?

The Way I do it is to have bOnlyAllowSpecifiedEngrams=True

However you need to create a list with ALL the engrams you WANT to show up, it can be quite the work.

I do it like that so I can make a primitive survival setting on my game.

Hi guys, I am having a bit of a problem with my dedicated server settings, no matter what I change in the game.ini, the changes don´t seem to register ingame. For example my mating interval is set to 0.5, therefore should be like 9-24 hours, but they are ready to mate in 2 hours. And my babies are set to 4 times maturation but I just got an adult pt in under 25 minutes. Any thoughts on what am I doing wrong?

it won't give the same amount for it at faster speeds. its a ratio between mature rate and the interval.
