Restarted my server about 5 minutes ago since it was asking for mod updates when joining.

This is strange. I got a ton of messages saying basically all of my mods are invalid then I got messages saying no need to update or something. Looks like its all screwed up.

Then later it says "Mod Valid".
These error logs are not very good.

I guess Ill wait 10 minutes to see if the mods re-download and work. x.x

Also, yes. Nearly every time I have a mod update. I think ill just stop restarting the server when I need updates unless it needs like 20 of them.

Here is another log message if it allows it. Basically my server is DOA for a day or two again and probably because CF screwed up again.

It was fixed already. I confirmed it. You can go to their github and look at the issues page.

I was the one complaing about it here if you remember.

Also, it was not Autodoors. It was because CF screwed something up and was serving a old version of the mod. Their group had to push a new rev to get it to work again.

CF is not a very good system by my generalized opinion. It could not even sort of handle the 5.5 launch and the mod upgrades.

Sure did. I only restarted my sever today because a few other mods wanted to update.
Now I will only restart maybe once a week. The server worked great until the restart, it all looks mod related which leads me to think its CF screwing up again. I could revert to a much older backup to prove it probably but it will still update on launch so that wont really work.

We have around 30-ish mods. I can't paste the list here because of the limits on the channel and cant paste a link because limits... Etc. sigh.

I have been playing ark since it released a very-very long time ago and this stuff always loves to happen when you just want to stay home for the weekend and do nothing.

I guess ill just go work on some side projects or something. I don't think its WC but probably CF so whatever.

Very true but a lot of them are QOL. Most of the people we play with don't have hours a day to play. Otherwise we would probably just play official PVP or something. Plus, people like the custom stuff. It is what it is I guess.

Anyway, I am going to stop complaining, that is not what this channel is for.
I am annoyed that my server won't start. If you have mod upgrades I suggest not restarting for a few days.
Especially if you have Autodoors, CS+, they both seem to be on the "angry" list. I still think its a CF issue though.

you need like 150 to 200gb free to do an update dont matter how big the download is, it needs almost the same amount free as the game takes for it do the file patching

it is due to the fact you download the entire patch , then unpack it for install - so it requires the free amount plus the patch you basically need twice the unpacked patch size as a result

I think its a Curseforge problem. I was having that earlier tonight and gave up on trying to fix it until tomorrow even with wiping data and having it re-download. Janky infrastructure, Don't update your servers for at least a week after a patch or mod update comes out.

The last one I had was because of Curseforge (CF) was pushing a old version of a mod and it broke the heck out of my server for at least 24 hours.

Maybe it depends on your interent. Are all of the ones that can see it on the same internet and close to you? Are the one's that cant far away? It could be a CGNAT issue or something.

If it is a CGNAT problem you have to call your ISP to see if you can get a "External" IP. If it's not then it could be a port forwarding issue but it would be odd that someone could see it and someone else can't.

External = Public depending on what they call it. You are not on Starlink or something right? I know that is CGNAT.

Maybe it is port forwarding then? If you have access to your router you need to get your server IP (assuming you are hosting at home).
Then you need to forward the ports TCP/UDP to 27015-27016 and 7777 to the computer IP your server is running on.

I’ve been playing Ark SA with the missus on PS5 since it came to PS Plus, we play in her world save and to begin with it seemed to save fine, we would play for a few hours, lay in our beds when done and then exit, when we logged back in we were in our beds and everything we had done was still done. However recently when we logged back in a bunch of stuff we had done in the last 15 or so minutes of our last session won’t have saved. When the missus loads her game up neither of us are in our beds, we are wherever we were 15 or so mins prior to laying in our beds and until I log in I appear dead to her. We can’t find any manual save button, is there a way to force it to save?

Hey! I have been running 3 ASA servers via nitrado the past months. I am now looking to move away from Nitrado and am setting up to host servers on my own machine. I think i got it down more or less. My issue atm is that i need to upgrade my ram before i can run more than 2 servers, which might be a few months away. I also have servers rented for some time still on nitrado. So i was thinking i could have 2 extra servers for now just for the fun of it, but realised i cant cluster my private ones with nitrado, right? So how can i set it up instead so i can transfere between my nitrado servers and private servers? As of now i see no servers on my self hosted servers at all when i try to transfere. I was thinking i could just password protect them all so i could freely transfere between them?

you cant, there is no way for you to share cluster dir between selfhost and nitrado

you can cluster from machine 1 to machine 2, but not from nitrado

nitrado always give you a masked clusterid, they dont really give you the real cluster id

If you are connecting to a server outside of its local network, then your friend will likely need to setup port forwarding to allow outside access.

I launched a new server instance (no save data) to test out 66.47. The server console window shows yellow Status (doesn't seem to get to green) and doesn't show the message about the server being listed in the directory (forgot the actual output it used to show.) The server is not about to be found in the in-game browser. Is anyone seeing this too?

I am having trouble with my Astraeos Map on our server and was wondering if anybody has any ideas of what to do. I can load into the Map (not the DLC) and all of the structures that are not Vanilla are gone. We use the Cybers Structures mod. As well, all of the structures have reverted back to their original type, ie steel, rock, etc from the Astraeos structures (Greek theme) Half the buildings are gone with some walls being gone however there is the oddf piece wall that still has the Astraeos skin. I have uninstalled all mods and re-installed. Should I maybe try loading a save from before the update?

I have a dedicated server issue. I am having trouble getting the Asteros map to load up on a server and work for me. I copied a bat file i used to start all my other servers and they all start just fine. when i try to start the asteros one however two things I notice is 1) the server will not load any mods yet they all load on the other servers (things like Automated Ark and CG Structures for example) and the second issue is that the server looks like it starts but i cannot see it to start in the game. yet i can see it using battlematrics fyi... thoughts?

Delete all of your mods under the subfolder for the mod folder. (on the server)

Also, do you have any mods that are not "crossplay" and is your server set for crossplay? They made a change where a server will no longer load if it has non-crossplay mods and is set for crossplay.

Could still be a CurseForge issue. I would still suggest shutting the server down. Deleting the sub-folder under the Mods folder then starting it and giving it 10-15 min to start up.

Yes, if you don’t your client will download them. If the client takes too long downloading them you’ll timeout. Sometimes when you time out it will jack up the mod install and you’ll have to start over installing them.

-My router is unable to port forward, so I have used playit.gg to allow friends not on my wifi to join. sadly, this works only by using the console. Though the server is findable on the server list, it doesnt allow players to join and gives them a "timeout" error. Couldn't find a fix for this other than having them load into a singleplayer world and type "Open xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:7777", which does work. (People on my wifi have no issues joining via server list)

-I have attempted to do my own cluster, however I am unable to get them to show in the tribute. Though it does not say "no servers found", it is just blank.

-I am not using ASM, I am using purely just SteamCMD.

To my knowledge, you need PVP enabled to kill unclaimed dinos, cuz it treats them like enemy dinos and you can't hurt enemy dinos in PVE. However, with friendly fire enabled on PVE, you can kill them if you simply claim them first, killing them with either weapons or with wyvern breath.

yes i remember. you needed to wake a dino cause his torpor wasn't going down. you must have channged the torpor setting. in gameusersettings ini file you can try to adjust these or add them

So if dinos are staying unconscious for too long, you want:
TamedDinoTorpidityDrainMultiplier=1.0
And if they’re not eating fast enough while unconscious, use:
TamedDinoFoodDrainMultiplier=1.0

best to leave that at default if you don't know what your doing. now that you have gotten this far i wold play around with it at small increments

That's probably just how the game calculates transferring. Im assuming its keeping what's on your body but then also uploading everything so when you get to the other map, its downloading everything it uploaded even though you still have the same stuff on your body.

I dont think so as its a glitch happening with arks transfer system. The surefire way I can think to fix it is manually uploading everything to a terminal before transferring and then manually taking it out when you get to the new map.

If it isn't there, it's due to it being at the default value and sometimes it won't populate if at the default setting for certain ones

So you'll just put it in there manually and then test until you get a combination for imprint value gained per cuddle and time between each cuddle.

had the same problem, if your servers are set to cross platform, try booting it, then check log file near the bottom of log file it will tell you which mods wont work. remove them and should boot up.

Go to the terminal where you started your boss fight and you will find your dinos there, along with the bags of your stuff

Gotta be quick though because the bags disappear.
Best thing to do is to throw everything into the inventory of one of your dinos right after you kill the boss but before the ascension cutscene starts

I have imprint period (how often it asks to imprint) at 0.03125 which gives me a 15 minute interval. MAture speed & incubation speed is at 5 which depending on the species can differ. a dodo with those settings hatches in ten minutes and matures in 4 hours.

I use the maewings/maeguanas as food troughs + CS Nanny (imprints can also feed, so I have food in its inventory as well) + CS Mutator (has a mature boost mode that uses 1 element for a 15 minute pulse that boosts mature rate by like 30% maybe). PCS also has an option where the baby grows up in the crypod and comes out fully imprinted

I hate leaving creatures out when I log in so PCS (pelayori's cryo) adding the growup in cryo option is SO helpful since I also tend to kidnap a lot of babies >.>

One of the most common issues I get as a server owner is that stupid "Show player servers" button being ticked automatically at random for no obvious reason. Is there anything that a player can do to stop this from automatically being selected? It's one of the dumbest things in the game. It's been an issue for so long. I have a question if anyone can help? I have one nitrado server and I'd like my dinos to breed when I'm offline but I'm finding its incredibly slowed down(as opposed to waking up to 7 babies I'm waking up to 1 more than the night before). AI overview on google says servers use a stasis mode when there are no players online nearby which would explain it. Its just little ol' me and a few dinos on the server and I have preparations to catch all the babies so I'm not super concerned about performance issues. Is it possible to disable this if its actually a thing or speed it up?

you can just upload then switch servers, download.
I HIGHLY recommend setting up the cluster information even if you only run 1 at a time.
non-clustered transfers are somewhat likely to have data loss. mostly with dinos and eggs.

Proton is for running things on Linux that normally run on Windows (like the dedicated server. I use it). To get more points for the tree, if you are maxed out you need a chibi pet to level up killing alphas or you need to kill boss monsters.

If you are not maxed out, just craft stuff, gather stuff and kill stuff and you will get points for the engram tree.

Oh, right. yeah. I wouldn't know anything about that at this point. I have not played any of it.

Ok yeah, that should be fairly good but the 2600 might be causing you issues.
Rocket league can run on a brick. Ark has always been a resource hog.
I would suggest setting all of your settings to the default "medium".
Decrease your render distance and decrease your ground cover/shadows.

That should get you to a better place.

ASE is a decade+ old and they spent a lot of time optimizing it. ASA has the same growing pains as the original ark 😦 I had to buy a new GFX card back in the day to get more than 15 FPS in ASE.

There is a way to do it but I can't paste links. You have to modify your GameUserSettings.ini file with the specific "DinoNameTag" to override it so none spawn. After restarting the server you will want to run a "destorywilddinos" so any that already spawned would be gotten rid of.
Search for "Change what creatures spawn in ark" to find a guide.

Yeah, if you are already "low" on everything and not getting a playable framerate I am not sure what can be suggested.
You are probably CPU bound though. I had a system that was having problems and upgraded the CPU and it started working much better. Though that was a upgrade to a Ryzen 9 so...... yeah.

On original ASE I was still running off spinning metal and had a "good-ish" gfx card for the time. I think it was a GTX 580 or something. It would have been considered cheap/crappy even when I owned it but anything but ARK worked pretty well. Ark was a slideshow.

It's because how the premium mods/dlcs work with the server structure

If a mod is on a server that creature is there for everyone but only those that bought it can tame/breed etc
And dlcs work like premium mods that basically get added to the base game

The taming/breeding is still premium and needs a dlc purchase

Its not good at all but I honestly see no other way to implement something like that in ark any other way with how servers and premium content are

So you have to have dinos eat in order to tame, right? That would be dino hunger multiplier. Just remember that turning that up will also caused tamed dinos to eat more frequently as well

Or you could adjust taming speed multiplier
