yeah they added the ability to put it in dynamic config, kinda like ASE 356.11 added it to INIs but now there's no need to restart for it.
asa has always had dynamic config , just now u can set colours from it too 🙂

I had fun when Ab dropped and they broke BP Anims, I had to hunt down a mod that caused crashes
i cant be arsed with the constant update headaches,
towards the end of ase wud run 15-25 depending on server though, more than that an i cudnt be arsed deal with it
command line wise though, really no need to complicate it unless running a cluster from the same .exe which with the price of storage now days is just insanity

Think most I had was 10 mods and that went back down to 9 after removing fear, for ark 205 is kind of crazy
I had maybe 120 on kerbal space program....and I quit due to all the updates breaking my game

On Minecraft I run 260 to 300 mods lmao, ark anything thing over 15 I think is a lot

Can anybody help me on putting turkey colors on my server? I put the colors names as they said in the command line (as other events), but it didn't work. Should they be in another place?
From what I'm reading is complicated. You have to create a file that's hosted on a web server somewhere and set your game files to look for those colors. Lots of steps to go through for it. I had hopes it was just a setting in the ini.

I added the dynamiccolorset to the game.ini in the server files and added activeeventcolor=custom to command line for starting. It appears we are getting some of the colors now.
I only have the previous event options to select for event colors in server console.

I have a problem whit the zeppelin on non official server, the zeppelin dont spawn and i dont have it on my inventory anymore
So i 'think' it worked. I stumbled across a para with a red underside (sorry not overly familiar with all the colours). But I was unsure at first and used ?ActiveEventColors=custom in my .bat, then wiped and found nothing. changed the argument in my .bat to -ActiveEventColors=custom and put the dynamiccolorset into game.ini as you did
That is where I am at, I think it works. I have come across several dinos with the Glacial, Custard and few other colors. Just didn't know if those colors are event only colors or could be natural colors as well. I found a custard, color ID 99 crab just a minute ago.

I'm working on testing as well. I have 6 colors in case there's some sort of minimum at play (even though the MC example has four). Checking combinations of game.ini, gus.ini, and command lines.
I would really love if someone would explain a little better how to do the dymanic config thing. The wiki just says "You have to host a file online 🤡 " and then the one youtube video I found was for a nitrado server only and it's like "use this website to host the file" and it's like $25 a month. -.- lmao

Honestly, I'd suggest if you're serious about running an unofficial server yourself, that you set up dynamic configs anyways -- it allows you to adjust rates on the server without a restart.

The -ServerUseEventColors is likely just a helper shortcut that internally sets it up to use the official dynamicconfig.ini for the color stuff
And given that the halloween colors was in the launch agruments, I'd say your command line/batch file
I would also do it if someone explained how a bit better. Again, the wiki is useless and the only youtube video says how to do it on a nitrado server using a hosting website that costs $25 a month lol

It's across all dinos. PerLevelStatsMultiplier_DinoTamed[8]=2 -- would basically do the same thing for tamed dino damage.

You put that in game.ini under the [/script/shootergame.shootergamemode] header
so if i want 50% less Melee damage i do PerLevelStatsMultiplier_DinoTamed[8]=0.5
So the default for tamed creatures is 0.17 according to wiki
so do something like 0.08
It is by default I think, attribute 0. So PerLevelStatsMultiplier_DinoTamed[0]=0.2 is the default.
PerLevelStatsMultiplier_DinoWild[0]=1 -- so wild dinos are set to 1, tamed dinos are set to 0.2

If both tamed and wild were lvl 150, the wild would have more health than the tamed.

You can change stats of players, tamed dinos, and wild dinos this way, including weight, torpor, speed, melee dmg, food, water, oxygen
wiki.gg under 'server configuration' page, in the section "perLevelStatsMultiplier" -- there are generators online you can use too

I've got an ...advanced... configuration, with a reverse proxy and multiple web domains in front of it, so I had a little more tooling at my disposal - I don't have a simple answer for that one just yet.
python -m SimpleHTTPServer 8000 might be one way
Okay, anyone around here a casual running a simple unofficial dedicated server that figured out how to do a dynamicconfig using a hosting website?
@balmy gazelle are you running a windows machine for the ARK server? Can you run batch commands and stuff on it?
Basically my servers are run on my old gaming pc with 128gb of RAM using just STEAMCMD and portforwarding and a loopback for myself. Then just .inis and bat files for config. That's all, simple stuff. D=
So install python on that machine, make sure to add it to the PATH (it's an option in the installer) - then write a text file with file extension .cmd in a separate folder of its own, and have it run python -m http.server 80 -- and put your dynamicconfig.ini in the same folder as the .cmd file. Run it, and it should give you a web server at 127.0.0.1 -- don't port forward it, your servers only need to see it internally.
Then you should be able to reach it at 127.0.0.1/dynamicconfig.ini

127.0.0.1 is a special address that is always the machine that you're on.

Nah, it's ok. It goes against what most poeple know about IP addresses.
You generally also only want to expose things that are absolutely-needed to the external internet. There's not a question of IF there will ever be some exploit, but when. So best practice is to not allow anything out and work with it locally to the cluster.
Okay got the ini and .cmd in a folder, ran the cmd and it says serving http on port 80. Added -UseDynamicConfig to .bat, and CustomDynamicConfigUrl=dynamicconfig.ini in GUS. Going to start up one server and see if it pops with all yellow colors after a dino wipe

You can link all of your cluster to that one file too - and control colors/rates across the whole cluster.

DynamicColorSetChanceOverride=(from 0.0 to 1.0) can also be used in that ini if I recall.
So you can 100% it if you want, or whatever value in between to set the chance that you get the colors listed.
Yeah I was doing the 1.00 in order to test, that's why every dinos was pure yellow haha. Going back to .25 which is default

It would happen on ad when it first came out I couldn’t even spawn in it would just crash, but they fixed it somehow and now it’s happening on cen and I’m playing a PvP wipe

Hi everyone. I'd like to use DynamicColorset and DynamicColotSetChanceOverride, but i dont understand where exactly to put these options. Do i need to put them in my ini file for dynamic config (where this file is activated by the options CustomDynamicConfigUrl= in GameUserSettings.ini and by the option -UseDynamicConfig for the server launcher.bat) or at the end of the GameUserSettings.ini ? Do i need to put option -ActiveEventColors=custom in the launcher.bat to make it work? anyone have some more accurate informations about all of this compare to the informations given by the patchnote? Would anyone be able to help me understand loot quality multipliers? We are having issues with loot quality just being too high at the default. We want to decrease it enough so that a wider variety of loot will spawn and not just the highest on the loot table in red drops.
pretty simple lower is less chance of higher quality , try like 0.7 . seems to be a decent spot for most , u may also want to cap the stats if u tring to be more like official as unofficial go to like 755% weapon damage an higher on armour rating
if u want to really fancy you can edit all the loot drops to your wishes but takes abit learning, ark beacon omni app/programme is great fo rthat an the free version has that abilty
Yehhh we've already set a hard cap for loot thankfully ^-^ just having issues with 2 modded saddles spawning capped too frequently, I wanted to see if lowering the loot quality would fix this before I'd have to mess with the loot tables.

But other vanilla stuff is spawning to high too. It's modded, we are having issues with the Barsboldia/Meraxes saddles spawning/saddle bps to much. These should be known issues to the mod devs bc it's all over their pages but idk if they're intending to fix it or if it's again loot quality issues.

Anyone having issues on dedicateds using QoL puller and it saying "Not enough inventory space or weight" when trying to pull to player inventory? Seems to work fine in benches. This happens with empty inventory even when trying to craft small things. This also seems to be affecting when I try to split materials inside of my inventory. They disappear like my inventory is full. However, If I drop my inventory the full amount will be in the bag on the ground. Any thoughts?

if it was singleplayer then your solo survivor won't transfer over properly tho since SP uses local instead of your ID.

you are LAN, you'll only see it there unless you use a VPN.
to allow a server to be joinable from outside, you need to port forward.

the only reasons I can think of the server not being joinable LAN wise is
the server not starting correctly or the router not accepting the type of connection.

I'm running two servers on a cluster. But for some reason when I open the second server, it doesn't seem to properly open. It won't show up in the server list but on the Steam server list I can see it. It doesn't show a player count or a map. What could I be doing wrong? This is all selfhosted on an ubuntu VM of mine
To be clear, both servers open and work fine. BUT if you open them both up at the same time, the one that is opened second has problems.

yeah, its probably the install location.
it should be a simple copy and paste the config, bat, and save once you download the server again.
its probably the server not following the bat properly because the files are already being used.
so you need 2 different install locations.
how did you install the server? just do that again and add a number to the folder so it makes a new one 
when telling steamcmd to install the server you should have put in a install folder 
unless you got it from steam client instead I guess.
steamcmd. Way it is rn is I have one Ark Server folder, you go deeper in (Ark/ShooterGame/Saved/) at that level you find the Ragnarok and CrystalIsles folders separately
yeah, thats the save files. ASE probably requires completely different server folders.
the server files aren't that big should be fine to have 2 or more.

I would assume so, those are dedicated servers btw. non-dedicated means run through the game client while playing. hence not dedicated.

Yes. If I have the ragnarok server open and open the Crystal Isles, it won't show up in the Ark server list and if you add it to favorites on the steam server list it shows up but doesn't have any map/player data at all.
same goes for ragnarok if I open up crystal isles first
both servers work fine if only one is open

this server will need ports 7779 udp, 8000udp and 27016 udp forwarded in windows vm firewall , your router and quite psssibly through linux aswell .
im unsure how linux handles port forwarding .
try with just that one map first , once it shows in game and you can join it properly , search for it on battlemetrics website and look to see what port the server is actually running, hopefully its 7779
Then that confirms the server is reading the script correct on startup
side note , prety sure -usecache, -gameserver and ?listen are no longer needed or used , you wud have to check on that, but the server will ignore them if not using aslong as the format is correct
So that port issue was already fixed. When I sent my original config, I DID have a problem with one server was using 7778 and another 7779 instead of 7777 and 7779.

The Multihome line was me trying something recently. It didn't help so it could probably be removed.
I have all of the ports forwarded properly. People can and have joined the servers remotely. Both of them.
only problem is they both don't open
you still have the quotes around half the settings, i wud test without or with the crystalisles server with that one running an not ragnarock, look on battlemetrics to see what port the server is actually using .
they will default to 7777 and 27015 , i suspect this might be whas happening, sry if i dont explain very well
I can't send a photo ofc, but I can actually see they're using the correct ports. There's a site one wiki lists that you can check the steam master server list based on IP address. Both of the servers will show up as using the correct game ports and query ports when open (even with the problem I'm having). Plus if it wasn't using the ports correctly then both wouldn't show up in the steam clients server list.
Cause in there I actually manually add PUBLICIP:QUERYPORT

afaik evolved servers need a peer port , aswell as the port there running ,
so the ragnarock is using 7778 and 7779
then crystal is trying to use 7779 but rag already using it , thats my understanding of ase servers anyway
unless u have since changed an they dont show up on battlemetrics yet .
you cud just set crystal to say 8888 and 8889 (will need to forward those obv) as a test since u have weird issue
battlemetrics doesn't really update quickly from what I've seen. One of those has it set to 69 players and is from like 4 hours ago. And the servers been up for a while

Also, linux is telling me it's using 7777 and 7778 (which is correct cause 7778 is the raw udp port and 7777 is the game port). I did the command netstat -tunlp to see this

ive used it alot for checking asa servers and its always been right but asa is totally differnt to ase , trying differnt ports on the second server that are further away wud be a quick simple test imho
Tcp is only used for rcon port , the rest are udp inbound afaik

I cannot run two servers at the same time. One will show up in the steam server list as having no map and no players (not 0 players, literally nothing).
Both servers can run independently fine (people can also connect remotely) and only the server that opens last will have the issue.

have you tried different ports?, from reading up i see it was suggested, when i initially read your issue, that's what i figured too. Try changing crystal isles to something else. If it don't work, then u in same boat so no harm trying tbh. Like 7789 should be far enough away.
i would start with using quotes the right way in the start script like w1llz123 suggested, when starting the 2nd server does it give any errors in the console/log

Also, no it does not have any errors I can see. Only thing I notice is that it doesn't seem to be saving.
It's probably not a port conflict then, that should give an error about port being already in use

Still an issue for you? Do you have the xbox app on a computer? I have had similar issues i play on series s. What i do to work around nitrado kicking me out as I load up is to open ark from xbox app on pc. If you have mods installed on the XBOX, you'll have to insta them the pc as well. Load the nitrado server, if it loads, move your character to a different spot. Use saveworld command and exit. Open on you xbox it'll say the game is open else where do you want to close and open here say yes. It'll sync data and game should load after that. I've had to do so several times especially when playing with mods.
TLDR:
Problem was a port issue. Just not in the way that everyone thought.
The game and query ports were fine, hence why I didn't think that was it. But there's a 3rd port called an RCON port. Used for server management. I didn't explicitly state the RCON port for either of them so they both defaulted to 32330
Which explains why they would both work alone but not together
the one that opened first would claim the port and the other wouldn't be able to have it

How do you handle the Svartalfheim map in the cluster? There are resources that only exist there and disappear when transferred. I can already hear the complaints about it. Is it possible to deactivate transfer for individual resources or is it simply your own fault?
You're not intended to take those resources off the map, you can't just add Svartalfheim to another map to add the resources in.

yep. Hundreds of them were flying close to my base. I recruited my friends and gave them all imprinted wyverns and went to town on them.
We annhilated them until basically none were left
You could just do destroywilddinos to eliminate overspawns and refresh new ones.

Destroywilddinos refreshes the spawns. I run this daily on my maps so the spawns are always even.
And you can use this one for bugged eggs

Note that you rarely see more than 1-2 wild ice wyverns on the map at a time.

Give it about 15-30 minutes for the map to respawn the majority of the max number of dinos. Sometimes it can take a full hour for the rarer ones to spawn after running the command.

The nests wont respawn without a wyvern nearby, if that is what you mean.
I mean IF there IS one nearby, WILL they respawn
Thats how the mechanic works but dont expect it to spawn in front of your eyes. They only spawn when no one is in render - then they are there when ppl go back in render again.
My advice; do daily dino wipes and stop focusing on them.

You can either add that code to the ini config file or In The general tab (nitrado) search cryo it should show the setting. Save changes. Restart server and boom should be fixed

Anybody else got or had some serious ping issues on their nitrado server they managed to fix cause nitrado are being pretty useless and when I had servers for all maps about 6 months ago thi wasn’t an issue but not people can’t even ride tames without it pinging like crazy and pinging and bottling the player

@halcyon topaz , in case you didn't see. For specific issues like ping, you would need to contact Nitrado and have them look into the box hosting your server.
as bad as nitrado support is, if you keep on at them they will generally get it sorted in the end, if server is a 20 slot an running alot mods , they will just tell you that is the issue though...technically it is, they run the bare minimum amount ram possible
I've had nitrado tell me that 2.5x rates were too high before, being the cause of any issues, so they're not great 🙃 but it's really the only option to contact if it's the servers themselves
2.5 x harvesting on asa server is kinda stressing a touch more the server more than it needs if done via the general multiplier.

Just remove the mod. Most clusters are running fine without it.

Im at 2x, meaning my bosses and dinos are 300 max.
So this makes my max armor saddles 367 since my max dino is 2x official.
Im just wondering if you have your difficulty settings mismatched and the dinos arent balanced with your armor ratings.
wild dinos seem to be at 150 max with 180 tek. caves are about what you would expect. they have dino raising turned up pretty far but i think most other things are just default

have the server owner set bUseSingleplayerSettings=true in game.ini , sounds to me like thats what ure used too
i'm used to the offical settings from the servers that are gone
ask the owner if there changing any dino damage or resist settings then , ive never been able to do alpha bosses with wild dinos so....
these had 19khp with 100+ armor, it normally works pretty well
but i haven't tried it in like 2 years, and it's on somebody's server so i'm just not sure which setting or what's going on exactly

theres a weird thing with dinos too, if u go to high with flyers they get there stats nerfed
i know a server i played briefly had a 1050 wild dinos, if u perfect tamed a flyer they got nerfed, used have beat them(hurt them ) to get the levels down lmao
its them reaching the stat point cap of 255 and then going higher. just happens on flyers more since no movement speed levels

Hi, I have a video of a problem that I have. When I throw an object on the ground, a warning signal appears and it does not allow me to pick it up from the ground.
On a private/unofficial ASA server with some mods, just 1 person is having an issue where when they split a stack of something in their inventory, the split-off items disappear but oddly their current carry weight doesn't change to reflect that the items are gone. This persisted through a reinstall of their game. Any ideas?
there .arkprofile on the server side has got corrupted most likely, have them try die/respawn in game, hop beds, etc
if it wont fix it hvae to try the backup .arkprofile
I'm using -usestore and -BackupTransferPlayerDatas startup parameters, because with the default .arkprofile method players kept losing their profiles when moving around in the cluster.

they keep changing it , so last i checked they wernt being generated
The "-usestore" saves player data to the map save file. The "-BackupTransferPlayerDatas" I think does still generate .arkprofiles as a backup/failsafe, but the game as I understand doesn't reference those.
thats how it initially worked when i did the testing, but last i checked it wasnt doing that, just creating a .arkprofiletemp on transfer then combining that into map data on the next srver save

It doesnt fix it if the items are moved to a different map before reset.
It only corrects on the same map as the duplicate item and only seems to perform the correction on reset.
So its limited impact.
How do you set crafting and item caps to official
Default settings are usually the same as official.

Note that max damage for alot of items is pretty high.

you have to add command lines to get official settings, for saddles the cap is 124 and for weapons the cap is 298%

crystal isles is the problem.
no matter how much you extend the tether, it'll still pull into caves, boss arenas, and sometimes randomly (load points)
crystal isles has a lot of them around the place.

Just to double check, If Difficulty is set to 10.0 the maxed wild dino spawn (exception: Tek) would be 300? Without any other changes to server settings.

@pliant acorn You have to add a mod for it. I don't know if the skins etc are in the base game. we still use "passive mods" to ensure.

to stop single player joining you just have to set a unique cluster id

I just started setting up my first dedicated ARK SE server on Ubuntu and it even starts but I can't seem to be able to connect to it. I did open the ports and I can ping the server with it's IP address. Network settings on the server show "UNCONN" state for ports 7777, 7778 and 27015.

Either i use PvP or PvE, both do limit one thing each and the specific ini's for that do not work at all.

If you are on unofficial the best way to do this is to use the custom dino levels mod.
Are there any known mitigations for players not being able to access certain structures? Relogging fixes it, sometimes going out of render and coming back fixes it, but is there a setting or anything to make it happen less often?

You can try force spawning stuff in also
Sometimes that helps. Its worked for me for gigantoraptors

Default is 1. Try it at 2 and you should be double the spawn count. (Such as getting 2 gigas in a spawn instead of one)

I’m in a server with some friends (nitrado) and i’m wondering what settings do I need to alter to spawn in higher level dinos? (No clue if this is the right channel but it seems it)
Anyone seen this issue before? I have a player that is getting this when trying to transfer between servers. "Cannot Upload, Survivor already uploaded." We've tried overwriting the character. But then Tribe membership gets removed every time she transfers now.
He duped his character and his duplicate is uploaded in the ob.
Have him log into a map hes never been on to download it. Then he can overwrite it later.

For anyone who comes across this issue. The character that was uploaded was corrupted. Downloading it to any server affected the tribe in a way that made it impossible for the player to rejoin the tribe. Every transfer with that character locked up the game and forced you to quit it from Task Manager.
I solved the corrupted character by spinning up a new empty instance of The Center(Could be any map) on my existing cluster. I then had the player download their corrupted character to that map. Then I shutdown the map and completely deleted the save file for that map. Then I restarted the cluster and everything went back to normal. Good luck.

You can do it with nondedicated, it's just a PITA.
So my friends and I have aserver set up but the mating interval is very high and egg hatch speed is high. Looking for a good setting that doesn't make it instant or take forever but you can still do stuff in between. Any recommendations for these settings would be appreciated.

everyone has the own prefernces when it comes to mating/ breeding multipliers.
best advise i can give is get the ark beacon omni app/programme.
the free version lets you adjust each of the settings an see what effect it has on the times for each dino
Personally I use 25 hatch, 45 maturing (rex hatches in 12 minutes and grows up in 2h 3m), but it's up to you.
