I install mods for my singleplayer, and they won't show up at all within single player not any of the mod menus that show up when you create/resume a singleplayer

Go to Youtube and search “ark how to add mods to single player”. There are several videos that will walk you thru how to activate and run them. There is a video tutorial for everything.

When installing mods from curseforge onto my unofficial server do I have to configure each one or do I only need to download them
Download, then activate
Just download and hit the save button. All clients connecting will then auto install the mods you added.

if you configure the mod list with the mod id the ASA serer will automaticaly download/update the mod for you
I did the server update and I removed shiny dinos but kept primal chaos, cryos, dino level, super spyglass, and dino colors mods active and the server started up no issues. So I logged in with both Xbox and no issue so maybe the issue is now patched

That may or may not work for smaller servers but for higher pop servers that is an absolute nightmare. We have had high pop servers on ASE and now ASA since 2016 and they still doing the same stuff as before. It’s getting to the point where they need to discount the server rates until they get their stuff figured out imo

Oh I do agree. At the bare minimum it might be able to get admins into their servers to test further.
How do I turn off hardcore mode on my Nitrado server does anyone know? I just rented my second asa server and it's automatically on hardcore lmao couldn't find anything on ini that says hardcore even in general settings
They have tutorials on their site that list the files to backup and their file locations.
Its a checkbox on the General settings page. I believe it literally says hard core mod or something.

Just note, I can't confirm if it works for console clients. I can confirm it worked for myself and another player of mine one steam clients.
Hopefully it does I'll give it a try but gonna back up first Nitrado support told me to restore a backup on my server from before loop restart and crashing happened but still crashing

Yes control F is if you click on keyboard will popup a box for u to search up any word on that page
So I used that to look for the hardcore settings in the general settings option on Nitrado dashboard but can't see the setting to turn it off

I dont run hardcore and its not coming up in my inis. It has to be an added line. So you will need to search both files for the setting.

Anyone had a good play around with spawn weights? I noticed on ASE that the official maps worked differently than the modded ones. I’m hoping that’s not the case on ASA but that’s wishful thinking at this point.
Has anybody removed their mods and server actually worked afterwards?
My experience is only with a couple adjustments but those adjustments should have made a huge difference but they did not. I feel like they are either broken in ASA or just maybe decreased their relevance somehow?
Thats a mixed bag as well. Some see improvements, some have the same issues.

Then use a closed TR with volunteers. Come on now. Did they not see the overall improvement in those few updates they put out after they went thru the PTR?
I have no doubt that it relates to them all "wearing multiple hats" and having no time to manage a TR, but my god. This would save thousands of overtime dev hours and then some. Not to mention morale and employee retention.

I think its only the raptor. You would need to spawn it in its native spawn area, leave the area for a bit and come back to see if it spawns a nest. 50/50 chance it does I would think.

because it updates every restart even when theres no update, i have a discord bot that restarts the server every 24 hours and because its updating every restart depending on how many servers im running it can take a long time to complete the restart because its updating aswell
its either find away to check for an update an then update or i add a delay between each server so it doesn't take so long to update, those are the only fixes i can think of

ok i understand, if you have an update you will delay the restart of the server not having them all a the same time, and if no update all restart at the same time...
just add the delay between each, you will need to do it anyway
Or create 2 bat files, one with the check and one without.
Call the bat without the check one every day for normal restart.
Call the bat with the check manually when you want to trigger an update.

Look at the server terminal, it prints version near the top
Knowing the servers version is kind of useless for checking if there is an update, steam only knows buildid
That's why we're in the discord, to see when patch notes get updated. When they do, then we have an update
Version number is good if you going to check patchnotes
And making something to check installed buildid against available buildid on steam while fun to do is pointless, easier to just run steamcmd and let it check and update it if it needs to be
So, just add a delay between each server restart
you will need it anyway in case of an update

the easier way is to rent a nitrado server , but u still got learn how to set it all up an that . Must be ark ascended
if you spend the time learning how , you can set a server up from your own pc or a spare if its good enough an have good internet ,
is also possible to rent a virtual machine an set them up on that , just depends how much time you want to invest in learning how

My game keeps crashing I think it's because of the creature amount in the caves but I can't even get in the world to Dino wipe because it keeps crashing
if its a server you can run a dinowipe before starting it,

mate get Beacon, then you dont need to code anything u can add taims remove taims and chnage loot drops with a flick of a button
I couldn’t run my server either. I decided to roll it to Friday before the update and it popped up and works just fine. The pop on server agrees it’s better to be able to play than be stuck and waiting. The rollback was worth it.

but i still recommend you checkout beacon. its alot easier once u figure it out, especially if u want drops with random items to get the weights right

oh yea there client side commands, im not even sure why it shows on servers, likely bad coding as it just pulled the file from singleplayer or summit

I highly recommend my community loves that mod and his discord has a lot of help and a place to know what ini files to use and change to make it more .... say ark 2 ish

Can be 15 minutes or an hour. Its kinda random.

Ark is broken right now. If its a modded structure in any way thats likely the cause. Otherwise no idea.

No, it's unofficial with more people, I'm not the only one that happens when you crash, the character is lost, and you can't download it
I have both maps, the island and svart.
probably because the server you leave knows you left so you aren't there, the one you go to downloads you but if it crashes before it saves your survivor is gone 
but even so, any player disappears, not only it happens to me, in total on the server about 15 people have lost their character, I looked for the folder where the server save is made and I got a character save in svart and another in the island, I put the two folders together but it still keeps happening
if they are being removed without transferring then the map isn't saving properly at all 
That's exactly what happens, the character is not saved, I don't know what else is going to make my head explode
check your settings to make sure you don't have anything in there 🤷 changing the save location or something
is it nitrado or self-hosted?
tell the server to save and see if the .ark file changes the creation date.

i was asking lil if he knew why the asa self host servers randomly wont save char data to the map after transfer, he suggested i try that save system to fix it

if it combines the player data to map though , im not sur ei like that lol, id have to learn how recover the .arkprofiles from it
that's what you go through, the profiles are lost
yea they move from the shared cluster folder , but never get saved into the map save folder
there is a commandline that auto-backups player transfers. -BackupTransferPlayerDatas
not sure if you need to be in the new file structure or if it works in ASA.

Anyone have custom PLAYER levels working on their server? I can't get ours figured out. I originally copied INI data from our ASE server and the DINO levels are working, but not player levels.

There are servers advertising 140+ levels on ASA servers in #1110925695900713072, so either they're lying or they do work and no one is sharing the information on how to set it up.

supposedly a copy of the save files that arent corrupted lmao .
sometimes they work if one the current ones has crazy going on. mostly in asa ive noticed it corrupts tribe profile data for some reason
One question, what ark manager do you use? We have Uaca's and I think it causes problems when transferring the character, it does not save in the folder that I selected it
When selecting the character save folder it creates another folder in another location and I think the problem is with the ark manager called Uaca's
i dont use one, i just do it manually .
so i have this added on each server batch file
-clusterdiroverride=<filepath> -clusterid=<myserverid>
then when transfer for the first time it will create a folder in that location on my drive,
inside that is another folder named with the cluster id ,
its inside there it saves the data from a transfer until it moves from there onto a server map file
lots , i suspect u cud work it out from battlemetrics website if u wanted exact figures
Of course, it does create the transfer folder for me but not in the destination that I marked it, because I select a folder, but it creates another one in another address, which means that every time the server crashes it is lost character
For example, I have all the files in /program file x86, and it selects that the transfer folder be created and saved in the same place, but, when the character is saved, it is done in /C
No matter how many times I select the save folder, it creates the folder somewhere else...
if u want it set in a differnt place just alter the batch file manually then ,
why is server crashing wud be more the issue ? if you transfer an server crash before the save period, it will lose a char, just how it is .
you can setup manaual full backups somehow, but id more be concerened why server crash
yeah, I'd just stop using the server manager. clearly something is wrong with it.
The server was crashing due to a plugin problem, but that is now solved, I found the error and it was solved, now my big problem is saving the character.
no lol, there isnt even that many unoffical servers when there working
google battlemetrics website, search ark ascended, then in top right click on , game stats, from there u can see the differnt things an filter by day, 7day , 3 month
it doesnt show whats down , but i can see that there was 37404 unofficial servers , after the update it dropped to 32957 and is now back up to 36887
59867 max unofficial server count over last 3 months, at end december, steadily declining since
its nothing really, games stale, wil lsee a jump on each map release

Hey Survivors,
Here is a quick update on this Major version patch that just rolled out. We're aware that there has been an increase in both client and server crashes - we've patched as many on the server side as we can (you'll have seen the various updates come through), and we've also addressed some client-side on PC (we're preparing these for console as we speak).

I purchased the game about a month ago, and have had nothing but trouble with it from load in to basic stuff in settings that you always have to change even though you've saved the changes , eventually it gets a bit much
usual ea stuff tbh, walk away , come back in a few months if its annoying you that much .

there isnt a way i know of, how ever if u run super cryo storage, u can have it set to auto pickup babys into pods, then u can delete them in that .probably not what u after though

Idk if this belongs here but anyone have a list compatible mods that make the game more challenging and newer. Im currently playing single player so would love to add in a few mods that work together that make it harder and more fun
I can’t even get into my server and I removed a total of 14 mods I would think are the issue and I crash as soon as I even enter the game then it says I died and I go to respawn and I instantly crash it doesn’t even give me the time of day to get through my character getting up cut scene ☠️
Do any of the mods you have contain items that can be turned on and off? On off function items from mods cause dashblarding
i wouldn't even bother removing mods, i haven't removed any and all our pc players can play fine, its just console players that crash
The certification for the console fix hasn't been approved. It's a waiting game. Not a mod issue. We have to be patient.

Any idea if there is a setting to stop people taking items across on a cluster? What used to work on ASE does not work on ASA because the skins are classified as an item, cryos are an item so even if you had no dinos or items to be transferred in ini settings you can take a cryopod and throw out a dino. A fresh start on a server is a much better experience and that is what the admin wants to do on our server for Scorched Earth but he has tested it and those ini settings don't work sadly. Any suggestions?

-NoTransferFromFiltering must also be use on the command line and i think for those to work you must setup a cluster id
Yep the PreventUploadItems does not work because skins are considered an item. PreventDownloadDinos works but because cryos are an item you can just bring dinos over in cryos and throw them out

Prevents ARK Data usage between single player and servers who do not have a cluster ID. Even with a cluster id set, it is suggested to keep this option to completely disable code path allowing it.
if he dont have it it enable transfert from singleplayer creative modes transfert to the cluster 😦
@viral kelp doesnt work atm, we just have them clustered but have players making a new character on the other map until its resolved
then we will allow people to transfer their stuff back to island when transfers work propery, wipe the alternate map and then let people back on

our players seem keen enough to play any map other than island that they would make a new chara every day 🤣

there is only a possibility to spawn the Gigantoraptor itself, but the Mod "Der Dino Finder" by Hacki_van_Bane helped me 100000% i finally find them on the map

It’s a shame the level override isn’t working like it did on ASE. I would just lower the XP needed to get to lvl 100 then every level after that need crazy XP - but not official crazy XP.

Anyone able to get transfers working with PreventUploadItems=True? Game keeps telling me I have items when I clearly don't. Only thing I can think of is the Custom Cosmetic placeholders are counting as items.
Looks like some of the mods are finally working. I had to manually update but placing the draconic shrine doesn’t crash me anymore.

Anyone know what’s actually causing the issue? I read something about it being lighting? For the first time in days I was able to get in my server but got kicked 10 seconds later but if I go to my island map I can run around aslong as I’m not near a base that has lights
WC announced it was a shader value they added or changed causing it
Root cause are perf updates to the base game. Ced talked about it in his post.

The cosmetic mod wildcard added to base game makes it impossible to transfer when items are disabled unfortunately. Only work around is allowing full transfers. I'm disabling raiding engrams on my server till its fixed

Literally all of my mods work in one server and not the other the only issue in that server is when you go near a base you get kicked so it’s not a mod issue its a wildcard issue

Yeah I have that same issue with my svartelheim map but my island map which runs the same mods will let you play aslong as you have no lights near you. So if you’re out and about there’s no problem. If you get close to a base boom your kicked
That sounds like the on/off bug, but weird that it only happens on one map.
Maybe the update that nekatus done for dwarven map stopped the crashes. His patch notes said it did, but we haven't been able to check due to other mods that need fixing, or wildcard, whoever gets it done first.

It's most mods that have on/off function items. Some have had updates rolled out by the modders, some haven't.

yup, i apply mod updates as soon as they drop. it didnt help unfortunately, yet my Primal chaos island server is fine and my Forglar using Rustic builders is fine

yeh been there done that, moved on from nitrado lol never looked back. Took me like 5 days to get contact from support, since that i got myself a vps and can host multiple servers for just over £30a month.

My servers haven’t had anyone on for a few days so I can keep trying previous backups. Usually when this happens, it sorts itself out after a few hours.

Has anyone experienced this running two different server instances on two separate machines on the same network? I have a "Test" server and a "Live" server. They are not clustered. Both of them show up separately in the Server browser. But if they are both running, no matter which one I connect to in the server browser, it will always connect me to the "Live" server. Only when the "Live" server is down will it actually connect me to the "Test" server. They're using different ports, the ports are forwarded correctly to the separate machines. It's driving me nuts!

So i did the alpha brood and alpha megapithicus and yea my game crashed while teleporting the dragon area so i loaded a backup that was from when i started the server but i still have the engramms and the Notes i think but i don't have the element do i really need to do them again?
Yeah they are set to use different ports. And the ports are definitely working. When theyre each running individually they connect and function fine. Its only when I run them at the same time that I have this issue.

Yes, using a static ip. I have a dedicated machine I use for my normal servers. Trying to set up a "Test" set for working on my server management tool.
@shadow bear whats your bat file start command look like for the two servers ? just remember you dont need QueryPort anymore and would recommend to make sure there are no ports in your ini files. Then use -port on each server start command
You may have issue where you might have a port in your ini file or something interfering
No ports in my inis but I am utilizing query ports. Theyre all different though would that make a difference?

They look a little funky cause I have a script that builds the execution command. I'll try taking out the query ports.
Query port removal is just a cleanup, but should not be causing your issue. Its an old port used by steam infra in ASE. ASA uses Epic infra instead so you either need to use ?Port=xxx or -port flags.. Yours look fine to me

Just when I log into the Test one, it sends me to the live one instead.
Ive tried with separate clusters too. I'll boot up the test cluster. Login. Then boot up the live cluster. And from the test cluster I'll transer to another Map on the test cluster, but it will transport me to a map on the live cluster.
ok , what i would do , go onto Battle metrics website and filter for ASA and try to find your server. This site once you select your server from the list will show its public IP and port that it has registered as
We just want to make sure its same IP and different port for the listing
Because I would assume both sit behind your router IP .. the battle metrics website will help confirm this

because Ideally from the outside, a server should have unique IP\port combination, in your case xxxx:7791 and xxxx:7779
If that correct from the outside, it may be forwarding internally incorrectly and may be a router config issue
My test servers arent showing up on Battle Metrics. I did just spin them up today, you think that would be an issue?
yeah it very well could be. All servers registered to epic should show there
I run local ASA test servers on docker and it shows , even shows when my server is offline as "dead"
So they keep an active and inactive listing
I think the search is Case sensitive, so just be sure its not a search mistake

If your servers not showing, it's your ports most likely, if your behind a router make sure it's linked to your internal IP.
Believe me, I have checked my ports and restarted my router so many times. And the servers work fine individually. I'm just getting forwarded to the wrong server when they are both running.

yeh i understand your pain ;p have you tried the ark server manager haruhost, its what i use and forwards ports in firewall etc for you, i dont home host so not much help sorry.
One other thing if you're into networking, you can install nmap and netstat
Then go into each server when they are running and run netstat to check and ensure each server is listening on the right port. While they are both up
then use nmap from an external server (outside your network) and test like nmap -sU <IP> -P <port> to see if the port is open from the outside
You should see open ports from outside with your server public IP and the two ports
This will test the network packet can hit your public IP and go down the stack all the way to the server and hit the port
If port shows as filtered\unknown\closed and not open then thats an issue

all good. These health checks will ensure there is nothing getting into the way. It sounds like either your test server is not listening correctly on correct port (server \ windows firewall issue), or the router config
Last option, You could test with a simpler TEST server, by just running the Island, no mods and as little as possible changes just to test that server and network to rule out Ark is not getting in the way too

Yeah it happened after I went into setting and didn’t change anything. I’ll just stop messing with it until everything is fixed. I had to restore a backup again to fix it.

BattleMetrics picked up my test server just now. It's saying my server is using a different port from the one I specified in the startup command though...

Showing 7777, and its showing on BattleMetrics as if it was my Live server. Showing my uptime for the past 3 months or so.
7777 is one of the ports I use on my Live cluster
Hmm, it is using the default port, check your server log ShooterGame/Saved/Logs/ShooterGame.log and look for Commandline: and ensure its correctly printed there. It seems like your bat may be wrong. Something could be cutting it off and it never reaches your ?Port

7777 is the default port. if there is something wrong in the command line, it will fall back to default. The log file will tell you the command it received during startup

I’ve had both of my servers just randomly shut down. Not crash, shut down. Like I’ve pressed stop server but I haven’t. On one occasion it deleted all server settings and I had to re-enter them all. This week has just been awful with wildcard and nitrado

i self host and love it it does take a leaning curve to figure out though
if your hosting more than one server, get a vps it works out cheaper and you have full control, on nitrado your stuck on long ass waiting times on support etc.

I use the haruhost server manager, its new but its being worked on and works well, also forwards your ports etc. edit: has rcon, backups , automated tasks.

i rent a VPS rather than self host, but no, its easy to set up if you kinda know what your doing.
can you share here what its showing, ive seen this issue a few times. The game is not parsing your cmd correctly. Mostly due to SessionName not being set correctly in bat file. You posted SessionName='My Cool Cluster - Svartalfheim(Test)'? earlier. Could you try SessionName=\"My Cool Cluster - Svartalfheim(Test)\"? instead ? Note I replaced single with double quotes and I also escaped it, in batch you have to escape quotes as the process will get those as different strings and not deal with the entire session name as a string

If this parsing is not correct, the server will fall back to default ports or sometime not even listen on a port at all and just hang
no not really but you do need a decent rig if you plan to run multiple maps
biggest issue people have with self hosting is forwarding ports correctly ;p
if you wanna run one just about any older setup can handle that from 16g of ram
with a low usercount, yep. Think mine runs at 13 gb now it was at 18 gb when i had more players ;p

You're onto something. I just realized my Live clusters aren't using the ports I designated either. 7777 was correct for the first server in my cluster. But I space them out by 2. 7777, 7779, 7781, etc. But in BattleMetrics they are showing as back to back. 7777,7778,7779. So they ARE Overlapping. Its just assigning them incrementally and not using the port pool I designated.
Gonna mess around with the escape characters to see if that fixes it.

so far in my startup i only use escape character for session name. You want to triple check shootergame log every start to make sure the output there is formatted correctly as i stated, else you bat file needs tweaking

The devs who wrote this should be validating all inputs and crash the server immediately with log message like "invalid session name" or port etc.

When I add quotes around my SessionName, theyre just being removed when I look in the log.
I tried escaping them with backticks and the server did not like it.
oh boy, yes i am familiar with powershell. The challenge you face here is you are building the command line as powershell variable string and that has quotes, then the string itself has quotes, then those quotes need to go to the ArkAscendedServer.exe so it will be fun escaping escape quotes lol

Not sure if this is the right place but i got the manor mod the other day but i can not for the life of me figure out how to apply the skin to the structures, the structure section in the cosmetics tab says "ITEM NOT YET USABLE" but its now on the spotlight yet i cant use it, ive tried dragging it to the custom skin structure thing an nothing happens, no structures show up when i put them both on structures, but if i do it with the armor it shows my armor and i can drag the skin to the armor, idk where else to ask

Morning peeps quick question I have my Nitrado pve server running fine I can access and play (ps5) but a steam player can even find the server or can’t join from ip address any ideas

in you nitrado server panel general settings is options, for xplay, make sure there set correct to allow the other p;latforms
If those are set ok, have the player double check he is using all the correct search parameters, password protected or not, pve/pvp at the top set it to all etc
if you check what port your on its prob not working, it wudnt work for me on asa anyway. i was doing from the batch file i manually made, had to be -port=

Probably best to use -port because I beleive the ? will inject it into the ini if you dont set it to readonly, then other instances could pick it up if you are running a cluster and not have things under control

So when I was finally able to logon on my unofficial server. It appeared to have rolled back but only for me. When I went to prior save files it was still only the rollback from like weeks ago I lost gigas, carchas quetz brontos. My argi was missing her saddle my base was way smaller. Actually now that I’m thinking that argi is cryoed and I need myself a better one that has my ascendant saddle on it

When I did it in the early days of Ark ascended it did NOT remove the items themselves if they were already crafted. But I also always recommend backing up your save before making a change like that. Just in case.

has to be some sort connection issue then, try deleteing the mods folder an moduserdata prehaps,? they will do that if one is mnessed up , or if a mod id is wrong somehow

Self host, and just exclusive join so I dont have to set up a password. I am having issues with my server appearing in the list (this is just a me problem, nobody else is having it.) So i figured I would just remove the password so I could use the open command. Only issue is we dont want random ppl joinin

Nitrado has been changing ips and ports a ton with these updates. Be sure to double check your battlemetrics for old port and ip settings.

It doesnt. It tells you if your map is actually ABLE to be seen in the game and if your map is actually up or not. Nitrados interface is terrible, battlemetrics doesnt lie.

the xbox servers are only on the xbox and microsoft store app on PC. your phone got the steam/epic server

You have to contact Nitrado and ask for a refund cuz you ordered the wrong map. Then order it thru the Xbox app to get the correct platform.

once your loaded into the world, it works or doesnt . i suspect you have,
1- too many mods of the same type(conflicting)
or
2- a random load order causing issues
As of rn the world is running just fine. Just havent been able run around much to see if all the mods have been running properly
single player and servers arent the same, they work a lil differnt tbh .

I posted about this a little while back and I'm curious if anyone ever ended up having any luck. I concede I haven't set my settings to try it again recently, as the patch notes themselves haven't referenced the problem.
Transferring to a character-only server in my cluster. As in item and tame downloads are disabled. Players have a confirmed completely empty inventory but are blocked from transferring the map, getting the "this map does not allow item downloads, drop your inventory" error.
It seemed the implant or the cosmetic skin buttons were registering as an item.
Anyone else experiencing this or see any solutions yet?
known issue wc need to fix it there end, custom cosmetics messes it up
Known bug with disabling items/creature transfers. Not much we can do about it but wait for a fix. It appears to be related to costmetics.
Solution is to disable all transfers or enable all transfers for the moment.

That looks like a normal log output to me. Have you tried adding a single mod at a time to see which one prevents you from joining? Or is it litterally any mod you add prevents you from joining?

Is nitrado gunna improve the server ping thing on the old ark when it me and 2 people I have the ping around 15 to 20 now on asa I get like 80 ping with me and 2 others when I have nearly full it's full ping like over 200 and impossible to play keep rubber banding. Yeah my clusters have been working fine. Your servers are both running out of the same project folder right? They have to be able to both access the shared cluster folder. Are they both showing up in the server browser at least?
yes - they both show up int the browser.... i used a nas share for the cluster data and i can access the folder from both servers and write a test file there from both servers....
strange. i'll keep at it.
I can't connect to my own server when the password is on. The server doesn't appear in the list, even though it appears for everyone else who is playing. I can't use the open command, because it says invalid password. I can turn on exclusive join, and the password off. After I add the user ids to the prompt I can join, but it no longer appears for them. They are all playing on console, meaning they have no way (to my knowledge) of opening the console to use the join command. I don't understand why, and if anyone has any ideas, I am all ears. I have been troubleshooting this for the past 48 hours.
I saw some documentation saying only nitrado servers can cluster so as long as that isn't true i should be able to figure it out.
Can confirm that is definitely not true. I host 2 clusters at home.
Selfhost can 100% cluster maps.
i just setup a cluster locally, i have two instances running from the same server install. using only -clusterid and -ClusterDirOverride and works a charm
Have not played with the other settings like "Preventxxx" to restrict it
Make sure your batch file is correct, then make sure they both have access to the location then make sure you have the transfer enables in the ini. Putting the cluster ID should let you see maps but not transfer.
I just realized you said you use a nas for the shared cluster folder. How are you pathing to them? Ive noticed if you try to map the network drive sometimes they dont play nice. You usually have to use UNC paths.
Hi i was wondering if other people where having the same issue im having. When we adjust the settings on our nonoffical server, no matter how small or big the change it does not work. We cant change any of the breeding or egg hatching timers.

Hmm, is the server changing them back to the original values in the .ini's when the server shuts back down again? Its supposed to dump its values and save the .ini on shutdown.
ill have to check but i do believe it keeps reverting them back. im asking this in place of a freind who runs their own server
And youre making it in Game.ini right? Thats where breeding and egg timing goes I believe.
GameUserSettings is for different configs.
they said yes they are using the config files
they make sure that both sets of files match up and it still dosent work ingame

hey quick question, im on pc, on a singleplayer world. Difficulty slider set to 1, overrideofficialdifficulty set to 5 and maximum difficulty box checked yet wild dinos are spawning with increments of 4 levels, does anyone know what im doing wrong?
I need help. My nitrado log files dont seem to be logging. I remember they use to log when people log on, log off, what they say in global chat, etc etc. now there is nothing being logged like that, is there a code i need to adjust or something?
Have you run a DestroyWildDinos command?

I don’t know why it wouldn’t work with what you have now but just change around those settings and see what sticks

im no expert in single player, but dont you have to turn some "singleplayer settings" off in order to be able to override these difficulties ?
i think single player settings overrides most multipliers in the game if im not mistaken and that could be a reason why settings may not take affect @rose kelp

Your best of closing the server, then make the changes and start the server, i think the settings your after (breeding etc) are in the game.ini you can manually change or add them there.
My server dont show up in list help. Think it is related to ports. It is open according to firewall.

I got options to port forward games from a preselect list ranging from Age of Empires to CSGO but ASA is not listed in it and the port forwarding and adding rules manually asks me for "Service", "Protocol", "External host" "External Port" I guess I can just select any option in the service list and add the ports I want allowed through?
Just Google your router on how to port forward of watch a video on it, there be plenty of guides.
I think it is setup now since my friend could connect but the portforward website tells me connection timed out so I guess this is fine. Next up is SteamCMD or just how to run this on a seperate computer. Can I have my server computer use my Steam login when hosting while my gaming station is logged in to the same Steam acc to play ASA?
Because I was using the steam ASA dedicated server app and will have to set up some stuff there. But everyone seems to be following tutorials that is for steamCMD using Batch files to start and update.
no you cant, will dm a guide a wrote in a txt file on how to do stm cmd , its pretty easy once you figure it out, i suggest read through once first
I need someone to help me ASAP so after the crashed on the 11th after I was finally able to get back on my friends privately hosted server. It was like I was rolled back to weeks possibly months prior I lost tames equipment etc. I was told to uninstall mods and reinstall them so l did. My friend then did backup saves all the way back to then 10th of March and still nothing came back
So does cross ark work now? Is the setup for it different than ASE?
This needs to be put into a ticket with Nitrado. There isnt anything we can tell you to do to fix that.
Be sure to shutdown the map, wait 5 minutes, make your changes, hit SAVE, then start the map up again.
Anyone still getting random host timeouts ?
Not atm, usually only see that when the map needs a restart refresh or my internet is bad.

when you change the setting they go in game.ini with the server switched off.
thye will not efect any eggs or baby already in the world, only newly laid, /produced babies
Make sure your map is fully shutdown when making these changes
Anyone on pc having issues joining a server? My friend verifys the mods and then just hits a black screen
i did that and it still didnt fix the problem when i got new eggs and tamed new babies

make the changes in the game.ini file, save it, wait 1 minute
restart server.
try with fresh eggs/babies.

With Nitrado its basically the same thing in ASA.

yea thats fine, but what actual lines are you changing in the game.ini ?
I actually mapped them to drive letters and used that. i find it's typically the most compatible.
