Without having extra PCs, I do not know. The only way I know of is renting multiple servers. You can rent two, have one as your "stay" map, and the other you can rotate. You could try this video: https://youtu.be/o1dcWkSzGd4

We had a main map we lived on then a second server with a map we rotated out on Wednesdays.

But like, everyone knew it was the sidecar map and when it swapped. Gotta make sure you don't have people logged into it

Since you're on steam/epic, yes. Activate the event, and then go to your gameusersettings.ini and add EventColorsChanceOverride=1 (value between 0 and 1 for the percentage of colors) under [ServerSettings]

It depends on what you’re modifying, everything under https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Server_configuration#GameUserSettings.ini goes in GUS and everything under https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Server_configuration#Game.ini goes in game.ini

If you ever don’t know, just do ctrl f on that page to find the line and then scroll up until you see gus or game

make sure you unlink all access to the nitrido account ( mobile phone login ). if someone has/had access to the server via mobile app if the main account PW is not changed they can still see the Admin PW via that. Also Reports of red guns can be a fake . I had a player that painted a rifle red and that was enough to scare some others

im unable to change the dino tamed add per level on a nitrado server. i changed the settings so that it would add a little more stats per, and thought it wasnt going up much because i didnt increase the number enough, until i had it at 300.0 and it was still only giving me 3 weight per add. i then tried expert mode and did it in the expert settings. still nothing. does anyone know why this is, or what i might be doing wrong? is there some sort of setting that i need to enable for this to work, and for me to be able to increase my stats by higher amounts? any help would be much appreciated, and if you could dm it to me, thatd be even better. thank you

like when you put a point into a stat, i want it to go up by a larger amount, but even with that exact code but with a higher input number, it doesnt affect it. ive closed the server when making changes in the settings, and ive restarted it 3 times

No, the Fjor server in the cluster. You could probably create a new survivor on Rag and transfer to Fjor, but that's risky.

this is just an idea, but if you know the host, or are in a tribe with friends, you can make a new character and explain to the host what happened, or try to level back up with friends.

Maps in a cluster usually are the same IP with a different port. I'd recommend asking the host for all the server links and adding them to your Steam server list.

Does anyone know a good way to transfer a large amount of items between servers without getting corruption/Buffer overflow? I recently set up a second server to cluster to on a different map, and we'd like to just move there permanently now and close the first server, but we have a ton of stuff to transfer over.

generally the buffer overflow kicks in if you have too many individual stacks/items in your inventory

it would be easier to just make a list of what you're bringing, and use admin commands on the new map to spawn everything in

Random question, let's say in theory I could get over a million mutations on one side, would it eventually reset back to zero due to the system not being able to process that many mutations?

It's wild I know, but someone told me they are playing a server and some guy has Dino's bred with over 1 million mutations on one side. I told them that's crazy and I can't believe it, but they are saying that now they have those same Dino's with the stats of the mutations but the mutation counters say zero.

it's easy to get high numbers of mutations, the number shoots up fast after a couple generations if you keep adding mutations on. but over 20 that line can no longer actually add stat mutations

any mutations beyond that would bring colors but no extra stats

Cause to my knowledge the cap on mutations would be 255 in each stat if done right by keeping clean females with a muted male

but the mutation count can easily shoot up fast to list as 500,000/20 for instance

anyone else having glitching issues on extinction map? Playing with the BF - Harvesting the corupt items, and will work for the first like 10 dinos (random number) BUt then it will stop dropping any items. Stego will only harvest one berry, no matter where i go or how many times i hit the bush, and the latest, is that i went to get some silicate, put it in the tek replicator, and he couldnt see it. moved it and dropped one just in case, he could pick it up, but it wasnt in his inventory.

I own the server so im restarting it right now but will that help?

It's possible they were blackboxed at one point and their inventory is glitched, especially if they transferred blackboxed. Have them transfer beds and/or die.

I've seen that when there are too many characters in upload or when a character has been duped. Check character download area while on another cluster map.

@royal prawn can't check another cluster map. No one can transfer. We are all getting the same message while attempting to transfer between maps in the cluster. With all of our characters. No dups and won't allow transfers. Like a site wide shutdown transfer on GPortal

If you have more than one map, you can check other cluster maps without transferring. You just log on to another map and check the downloads area instead of creating a new character. That's where dupes, or just too many uploaded characters in general, can be found.

Could be gportal, but could be a weird cache issue with ark data. Other things to check are settings related to transfer.

Curious why the dedicated server still opens a socket on game port + 1? I know back 2 years ago this was for bRawSockets, but that's deprecated. Any server I start on game port 7777 and query port 27015 always has a udp socket opened on 7778 as well. Just a hangover?

Doesn’t explain why game+1 is still opened if query port is set to something else (and opened). Also iirc I experimented with not explicitly setting the query port and it opened it on 27015 by default

I had issues getting it to work as well. I can say that it's a multiplier though. So if it's capped at 10 and you change it to 10 10x10=100.

This worked for my quetz but not my astrocetus

yo does somebody know why in my private server dinos randomly despawn? i was carrying unicorn when my stamina was low so i landed then my unicorn went somewhere (it was like 5 sec) and when i was looking for him he wasnt there even with GetAllState command

If you just leave it all default, aside from switching pve to pvp if needed that should match official, most providers leave it default.

Normal events are over, now just EVO Event. In today's update they added new initiation options to create fake events containing only dino color.
It has a config to automatically use event colors and it has a config to put custom colors.
As this event is SUPER weak and ugly, I created that list of custom colors above to be more interesting on the UNO server that I help to administer

if someone wants to use the default colors of the event (there are only 7 or 8), just use -ActiveEventColors=Vday

There's a bunch of squares and random letters and some maps have 100+ people on them, and I see 30 of each map in a row. Has anyone else seen this?

I think you can only do this with mods. You could spawn in blueprints for saddles and structures that you want. Then you still have to craft it, but obviously the point cost isn't there.

Yea, that's why I don't think you can do it the way you are imagining. On our cluster we don't have Gen2 but there's a few engrams we want to use from there. So when a player is at the right level we just give them a bp as a workaround

also, i am testing out several codes to see which one might work and give me the result i am looking for. hopefully the ones i am testing now are the right ones that i need in order to make this work. if they do, ill tell you so you can add it to your server

I tested a bunch on various maps and basically you can add ActiveEventColors=custom to GameUserSettings.ini under [ServerSettings] header, but DynamicColorset is ignored and Ark will just pick the colors for you.
Regular dinos just get dark colors, like the black colors (14 and 56) and the occasional dark purple or dino dark red. Doesn't matter how many times you dino wipe or if you try to override the dark colors with a handful of bright colors, or use every single color available in DynamicColorset. They come out dark every time.
R and X variants get a ton of different colors, but again it doesn't matter if you have all the colors or only a handful of them in DynamicColorset.
Ark basically picks the colors for you based on dino type, so it's not working as expected yet.

I figured it out. In ASM the Actrive Event dropdown has a "None" choice and a choice to leave blank. Once I moved to blank instead of None I got color spawns. Thx for the help

I use ASM and not on a Nitrado server, but what I ended up doing is adding the ini line in the gus ini under Server Settings ActiveEventColors=Easter and in the Active Event dropdown chose the blank entry. On ASM there's a None and blank in that dropdown and None wasn't working, so I think it actively suppresses events where as blank allowed the ini change to happen. Hope that helps

Try lowering your graphic settings very low. Make sure all your secondary programs are closed

The reason for the problem is:
Each time you travel, this stores your implant in the cluster profile. So this profile gets bigger and bigger and bigger...
Once the profile has some size, it starts to generate such problems.

Let the admin delete your profile in the cluster directory
(No server restart and things like that needed, only delete the file which has the id of your steamplayerid. )

There are lots of great unofficial clusters out there that have multiple maps or all of them. Most of the good ones have discord communities though, and you have to join the discord to get the password or be added to the exclusive join list. So they don't have random trolls joining.

A lot of YouTubers who have discords, have clusters they run, or channels where people can advertise their server clusters. That tends to be a good way to find one that fits your platform/play style.

With 0.05, the maximum number of that dino type that will spawn in the spawn zone is 5%. That number will very based on the total population of each zone. Beaches have a higher population than other zones, which is why it's best to just avoid adding dinos to zones with "beach" in the name.

It's easier to start with 0.02 and work your way up or down from there

The server list can't load all the servers. We would be sitting there for 15m while it loaded every time. Nobody wants that.

Instead it only loads like 2,000 or so, and it's random each time which it loads. And more than likely distance ping and even your isp routing comes in to play when deciding which to display.

You can change the frequency they want it, and effectively disable it or reduce it to only needing one. But there's not individual settings for each type of imprint to pick and choose

There's a program called "ARK Smart Breeder" that you can download. You "export" dinos in the game, import them into the program, and it tells you the base stat points.
It also has a preview for most dinos and you can change the colours on it to see what they look like 😊

All ark colors are messed up after the update and having wheel problems for whistling and pickup structures.

Another fun issue. Painted a paintbrush cyan, turned the brush solid black and renamed it as a rocket launcher but when you use it, it paints everything solid black.

I use ASM and there's a checkbox for cuddle only imprint. i imagine whatever your using to run them will have something similar

I can't find the answer to my question on Google so I'm hoping ya'll can help me... I play Ark on Xbox and have a cluster through nitrado.
After the update yesterday, people who play on PC can no longer find my cluster, even when they type the name of the cluster in the search.
The cluster shows up on my xbox, but not on their PC... Is it something I need to do on my end or they need to do on their end?

Favorites (the dropdown) doesn't work at all for anything but Steam/Epic, unfortunately. There's no limit to server listings on Xbox/Windows Game Pass, though. Not being able to find a server is either crossplay not being enabled, game not updated after server side, a search filter, or something broke.

Welp.. Thank you for brainstorming the problem with me everyone. Found out the players who couldn't find the cluster were using steam... So problem solved! Lol. Just a bad coincidence that they tried to join right after an update. Made me think something went wrong with the update.

Good news is your server is up and it hears you. Just taking too long to connect

Usually due to downloading mods while connecting. Try to download them and subscribe to them beforehand.

thats all it'll say. what I mean is the server might be missing its chance to respond. I've had the same issue on windows when I run my server.
at least on windows when the computer has the server as the active window it doesn't happen as much.

Have you forwarded all these ports? They don't appear to be the typical ones people use but as long as they are forwarded correctly

They need to be forwarded udp and tcp inbound and outbound to allow the server to communicate both on windows firewall... Or .... Whatever firewall since your on Linux and at your router level

In addition if your trying to connect to your server that's on your lan you will use your internal IP

Humm I'd say go over the ports again. They need to be forwarded to the correct internal IP router and firewall level. Usually people use 7777 and 27015

Opened up my windows firewall > Allow apps or feature through windows firewall > Change settings > Allow another app... > added the following:

From there you need to tick both boxes to allow private and public networks..

Open the dino's inventory and look at the middle panel - does it have your survivor implant #? If it does, then it should. But I don't for sure, depends on how that mod is configured.

Says the authentication token thing is because your using the wrong query port

Your queryport is in the wrong range, there is a specific range of ports that must be used for that setting.

Try changing your queryport to 27015.

It will always take a minute (or I've seen up to 30 minutes, depending on load size) to load. The game "freezes" when loading into a modded server.

For your advertisement, make sure that your discord link is not clickable. Add just the code to prevent it from being automatically removed.

That's the port needed to join. That is the port you need to add to your post, if it is not the one currently added.
