This update has totally broken all of the stacking mods currently available. They no longer recognize most items in your inventory or in the inventory of crafting benches. It also impacts wireless crafting. Hopefully Ark/Wild Card can fix the things it has broken soon.

PC/Xbox - Since the update all my wife’s official servers(not just Astraeos) are showing grayed out and I don’t see the rest of the servers. I have tried re-starting, rebooting, refreshing, also validated files and re-installed the game and they still show grayed out. On my account(Steam) I got removed from the tribe on Astraeos without any tribe members doing it. Both show v83.4

Hello, i'm currently breeding dino's at my base, there's over a hundred dinos, about 50 bary's, problem is that i continuesly am refilling the feeding trough with fish, i can see the fish being consumed pretty fast, like 5 per minute at least, i'm filling the trough with multiple thousands of fish every day.... i tried changing the TamedDinoCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier to 0.01 but it's not changing anything i believe

All carnivores will eat fish 1st - they eat food in reverse preference order - which is great as it means you can have a trough of kibble for emergencies & they won't eat that until everything else runs out

this is the 3rd time its happened. The first time i put it down to a pc problem, and just ignored it and played ark on my xbox, then probably a few weeks to a month later, i could play again (i made no adjustments to anything on my pc whatsoever in that timeframe), the second time i was actually able to fix it by wiping certain files, and this is the 3rd time which doesn't seem to wanna work, regardless of what i do, unless i'm missing something. I can't even install the regular Ark ascended; it keeps saying there's not enough space even though there is. I have 450GB available and Steam says the full installation is 272GB, but it still won't download. It completes the download and then gives an error during installation. It all started with the 40GB update after the release of ASTRAEOS. I uninstalled the game to reinstall it to see if that would fix it, but it didn't work.

That's way to little free space to be able to have Ark installed. You will need at least that free AFTER the installation to be able to apply updates. Steam lies about the size. During installation and update it uses way more space then that.

run some extremely heavy CPU/memory stress tests that do integrity verification, maybe. or just memtest86, although that rarely detects vmin shift degradation, since it only happens under heavy cpu load. if you can pin in to the RAM, that can be replaced (hopefully under warranty, since DDR5 is horribly expensive right now). CPU issues means laptop replacement.

cant hurt to do a clean OS install with no other software, just to rule out any interfering crapware, before you start replacing hardware

if you do run memtest86 or similar and get memory corruption detected, try to see if the memory section corresponds to a single ram stick/channel, or is everywhere (probably CPU issues)

Get yourself some good breed rexes / theris / spinos / deinosuchus (or whatever dino you prefer, strats differ depending on the dino if they're not a typical boss dino), a yuty, and a daedon, along with the typical gear (you'll want a shotgun definitely). Grapplehooks / parachutes are good to have too. I usually have my rexes whistled so they follow each other in a single file line whilst in the tek cave. I'm mounted on the yuty with the daedon following on passive and ignoring group whistles.

Learn to use your whistles outside of the radical menu. I make use of the "go here" whistle to prevent them from falling into the lava, and cycle between "attack target" and "passive". I make use of the terrain, luring any wild dinos I can into lava. For the overseer, I keep them mainly on the boss, and shotgun the drones down. That's how I've always done the cave.

This is showing in the log that something was destroyed, but not who did it. Is there a way to do it that only admins can see who did something?

Recently upgraded to a 3090, figured I can finally run ASA decently, but I still get only around 30 FPS most of the time (its bad in LC city, jumping with a mana there is like watching a picture slide show ya'll)

Any settings that you guys know can improve the performance if set to a certain value? I tried a lot of stuff, but doesn't seem to improve much. Disable fog and clouds doesn't do much either, I have everything on low except shadows and global illumination (if I set these on low shadows will flicker like hell). Have bloom, lightshafts, low light enhance, fluid interactions, footstep decal etc. all turned off (nothing is enabled on that page/side of the settings basically)

ASA still runs far from fluid. Other games give me no trouble, played KCD II on Ultra this week and its buttery smooth. ARK makes me want to tear my hair out with how crap it runs 😂

I’d recommend starting with some creature mods first, not anything that dramatically modifies how you play the game.

Creature mods just add more variety to the maps, lots of good options out there that fit well with the game balance.

If you only add mods that don't actually add any new stuff to the game, you can keep playing even if the mods break. Like "Better Dinos" that only adds buffs to vanilla dinos. Or Spyglass that doesn't matter. Custom dino mods you don't want to remove once you added them since that removes any dinos you tamed.

And they aren't blacked out either, they can be selected in the transmitter. But when downloading they don't load and go back into transmitter. Kinda like when there isn't enough room and it "destroys" the creature. But there is plenty room for them to Spawn

The bot is a nightmare, another potentially great feature (that was paid and one of the huge QOL pulls for bobs) they just didn’t care fixing.
The one fix they brought out only made the transfer logic worse as it only picks up one thing at a time now.

You can only try to circumvent certain things sadly. The fucking bot usually tries to access various containers like fridges from the back, ecen if against a wall and fully accessible other sides.
And even then it sometimes mindlessly circles.
Safest workaround I found is to have the drop off containers elevated on like quarter ceilings, and in the middle of the room.
It will still start spinning in certain spots however, you need to then put down quarter walls in these spots so it runs into them while circling and picks a new route
Absolute garbage but this way it somewhat works.

Rhe only way is to observe it’s exact pathing, then look where it keeps getting stuck and get creative
Build things elevated, build staircases, build quarter walls to stop circling. Etc etc etc

I have vault in front of gachas where i want it to put all stuff so i can just tp between boxes and drop traps out for gachas to eat them it can access vault from back and right side i even allowed it to walk in front of it where it jus wanted to go and it keeps runing into it fort 10mins straight stuck runing in circles is fine it eventualy does the job i had it runing for few days in base between crop plot and normal storage box to test it

I put a gacha tower somewhat far away from crops so it can’t try and run there, and built a 1x1 tunnel for the trapped bot with no doors.
In the middle of that tunnel, I placed stacked crop plots, on an extra ceiling attached to the „tunnel“ but also fully enclosed with walls.
Then a vault on either side of the tunnel, elevated on a ceiling on top of the wall that is part of the tunnel where the bot is trapped, but attached outside.
This way I had the bot run from the crop plots in the middle to fill both vaults on the sides with plants.

The vaults elevated were crucial here it can access them from afar. Generally drop offs are better off elevated where it can’t physically run into it (exactly 1 wall up/high)

Also I did not start at ground level but had everything on pillars and ceilings (including the little tunnel where the bot ran back and forth) since it otherwise kept running through the walls when doing it on foundations.

straight in box my plan was to just tp and drop plants from box realy simple movement which means i could have it fully automated with litle fancy autoclicker just press
F, hover over first slot hold O press F press r repeat full auto gachas

A huge pain for me was the bots trying to interfere, even when I had it elevated from ground i had the stupid shit bot try and run towards crop plots every so often - getting stuck running towards them even when other bots were doing crop plots already

Also the filter option is useless on official, it kust goes for anything and everything that it can access, no matter if filters, no filters etc. as soon as it’s on butler mode it goes for any and all containers

I tried everything already, picking up, crafting new, waiting over various patches and restarts never changed

Yea it can work in theory, I had something like that with the vault oriented in such a way you could popcorn from it and directly in rhe gachas faces.

But it’s a giant pain with the bot it just doesn’t really do what it’s supposed to

either the drive is extremely slow, or steam is not using the drive you think it is. it can use a different drive to patch, check where it is writing with resource monitor
